Receiving a card - be it for your birthday, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Father Days or Easter - that has been specially made just for you can be both heartwarming and humorous...especially if you have a young DC who writes the first thing that comes to their minds. So Card Factory would love you to share the best/funniest personalised cards you’ve ever received.

Here’s what Card Factory have to say: “We know how important finding the right card can be when it comes to celebrating all of life’s moments. This is why we have put together a fab, exclusive range of personalised cards from only 99p! Made and designed by us – with those finishing touches added by you - get great quality without breaking the bank.”

Did a loved one root out some really old and perhaps slightly embarrassing photos of you to plaster all over the card? Maybe your DC wrote a message that was hilariously unfiltered but oh so sweet? Or have you ever received a card that brings back so many great memories every time you read it?

Add your comment to the thread below and everyone will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

My lovely DIL and my Grandson often send me personalised cards, and I really treasure them, not only for the super photos but for the thought they have put into creating them.

One of the best cards I've sent was a birthday card with the printed greeting "To a man who's an expert in his own field".....
He was a farmer!

My husband made a wedding photo of us into our a card for our 1st anniversary and I loved it

A lovely hand drawn card by my daughter. She had tried really hard with it and it was lovely as a result

Abis04 · 31/01/2018 18:43

My favourite card was for my birthday from my husband - he'd taken a picture (some I didn't know about) of all the significant events in our family's lives and collated them together into a montage!
It was so thoughtful

DH gave me a card with a picture of a pig wearing a party hat on it and the caption 'Happy Birthday Wife'.

I do actually love pigs so it wasn't taken as an insult as it could otherwise have been Smile

Dd made me a birthday card with a homemade bead bracelet inside. It read 'dear mummy I hope you like the bracslut' Grin

My friends got me a lovely card for my 30th with lots of photos of us on the front set out like a magazine cover. I wasn't expecting it so it was a nice surprise.

A lovely card hand-made at school by my DS age 5. A simple design of a chameleon made of black card with brightly coloured splodges. I have framed it and it always reminds me of his happy time at primary school.Smile

I recall my mum giving my dad a birthday card with a pencil drawing of a flying donkey on, the verse was as follows -
Beware the deadly donkey
As it tumbles from the sky
You can choose the way you live my friend
But not the way you die!

They had been falling out with each other on the day she purchased it!

A Christmas card with a picture of Andy Murray in a Christmas jumper on the front Confused

Beeziekn33ze · 01/02/2018 17:58

Friends made me a Christmas card with a photo I didn't know they'd even taken. I was dancing on a table with a man I've never seen before or since. I do remember that he was named Harvey. It's very sedate. I'm in a long dress and my partner in a suit, we appear to be waltzing!

When I was about to take my finals at university I got a bad throat infection. My boyfriend sent me a personalised ecard saying, Sorry to hear you've got a frog in your throat. I think it had a frog in bed with a thermometer sticking out of its mouth. It was a bit corny but really cheered me up hundreds of miles away in my room.

since our son came along we’ve both organised personalised cards from him but I don’t think I’ve ever sent/received one to/from another adult. My fiancé did organise a big poster of me for my 40th birthday (using a photo I hate from a holiday I’m Mexico). It’s now living in the garage as I wouldn’t give it space in the house lol

My 9,6 and 5 year old sons thought it'd be funny to fill the inside of my card with 2 sanitry towels and they wrote "happy birthday mum we found your nappies now you wont wee yourself now" i nearly died of shame when i opened it infront of my dad Blush Grin

My friend used to send particularly unflattering/ double chin/ gurning selfies to random numbers all the time.
One year she got me a birthday card with a gurning selfie on... forgetting I was now dating a guy she had anonymously sent a lot of these to!
His face when he saw the mystery ugly girl on my dresser was hilarious!

AVT5 · 02/02/2018 13:16

love my aunts personalised cards. she makes cards as an on the side job and they are always so lovely! much better than shop bought

Gill81uk · 02/02/2018 20:19

Our family's favourite card is one that my daughter gave my son earlier this year. It has a little boy on the front and says "Brother, this is your birthday card. This is the front side", then inside it says "this is the inside", then on the back it says "and this is the backside!" and the little character is doing a moonie! They find it hilarious and it still stands on my son's windowsill as he wouldnt part with it! They realised recently you can just see the bum from outside which caused much more hilarity, and then again when they realised the window cleaner could see it!

N2986 · 02/02/2018 21:15

When I was little I may have picked a card for my dad saying "you're like a dad to me". I figured he was since he was my dad Blush

StickChildNumberTwo · 02/02/2018 21:31

A friend cross stitched me a card for a significant occasion, with a picture of me and the date and occasion. That is framed in our lounge - I treasure it for the love and care it shows as well as it being lovely.

Sugarhouse · 02/02/2018 21:47

The card that made me laugh the most was a Mother’s Day card off the cat I think my husband only bought it because he found it so funny that you could buy them

RockinHippy · 02/02/2018 21:55

A Christmas card from my friend. A black & white photo of him star jumping naked in the snow. With Christmas bells drawn over his dangly bits. He did a different one every year & they got more outrageous as the years went on

starlingsintheslipstream · 02/02/2018 22:47

I've never received a personalised card, neither has it occurred to me to send one. Having said that, the kids would probably like them so I might have a look at them.

PootlesLovelyHat · 03/02/2018 07:10

A lovely handmade Mother's Day card from my then 4/5 year old DS. It had a picture of all my 'hobbies' on - ironing and hoovering! I'm so lucky that I get to do my 'hobbies' every day HmmConfused

Landed · 03/02/2018 11:33

I've never received or sent a personalised card but now an old friend has moved mikes away and her special birthday is approaching I'm think to dig out our best photos from when we were little and make one.

Landed · 03/02/2018 11:34

Obviously miles not mikes!
