That’s what she told me, x I didn’t even think you could apply multiple children though x

Each child would be a individual claim but they would all be under your details when you call so they can see all the children you claim for on their screen

Curlycookie5 · 02/06/2025 16:18

The reference number is your child’s national insurance number, I think it the CL reference number when they don’t know your child’s national insurance number and sometimes ask for your child’s birth certificate, it’s been mentioned on a thread a few years ago that people that don’t claim child benefits there children don’t normally have a national insurance number yet so it goes to CL

My sons reference number has always been my NI number

I feel like 2 years is not long enough! The annoying thing is I see alit of tribunal cases getting awarded to 2031 & 2032 I even seen one that was awarded for 8 years. Obviously the tribunal route is long winded but I feel they are the only ones giving long awards. Everyone else is like 2 years

My sons first renewal was done last month and it was only another 2 year award at the same rate, it would be good if it was longer though so we don’t have to keep filling forms out and waiting for decisions

Did you have to send in a birth certificate or have you claimed child benefits? All 3 of my children have there own references number which is their national insurance number. I’m only saying this as I’ve seen it on threads over the years.

NC SD 22/1
i called today and it’s good I did. The information I sent previously has not been noted :(.

I have figured following ( which might not be 100% correct as no one told me these)

*if your reference is a ‘CLxxxx’ number this means it’s still in clerical work. Meaning ( I guess) that the form is not with a decision maker but someone in DLA is working out if you are eligible. For example, ( I guess) check who else lives in the address, what benefits they get, any other claims for this address, other parent guardian details living elsewhere and their benefits, if DC’s birth certificate can be found in their system etc.

*if your reference is a ‘CRNxxxx’ number, it (I assume would) indicate the eligibility has passed and it’s with a decision maker. They are evaluating the rate the child should be getting and requesting details regarding this decision. For example, contacting school, surgery etc.

If anyone can add to this, or do not agree, please comment. I hope this will at least help us understand where in the process our claims are.

Isnthe reference number at the top.of a letter they have sent out?

@Kelz23 the wait is the worst part I think! You know someone's sat reading it and then wondering when they will decide! Then I've found myself second guessing myself thinking did I write that, should I have included this! I can't wait to just know either way now this is all new to me and I couldn't believe how many pages the booklet was! It's a lot for the dm to have to read through! Xx

Mum2allgirls · 02/06/2025 17:07

@Kelz23 I've felt more stressed today than I have the whole 16 weeks now I know it with decision maker 😫

Londongirl8922 · 02/06/2025 17:08

I’m sure I read earlier someone posted that decision makers only work on Tuesdays so if that’s the case no wonder they are behind 🙈🙄

AutismMummy24 · 02/06/2025 17:22

NC scan date was 11/2/25

😂 I think it would be a longer wait if that was true, mine has been different days so far and it looks like they are working over the weekend to get the wait times down which I’ve never seen them do before. After the first back payment the payments are made on a Tuesday every 4 weeks, I wonder if that’s what they ment?
