@Kirstylou91 I'm just at the point of giving up they just fob me off everytime I ring up and state similar things on the phone and make me look like a right fucking idiot. My daughter desperately needs the right help and support she's a danger to herself and others around her, but dla don't give a shit clearly.

Exactly my point. I’m exactly the same my son has severe ADHD it’s exhausting it is what it is I wouldn’t change him for the world but uknow what DLA need to sort their shit out kus I’m fucking fuming how can they award 22-24 Feb when there’s people from end of Jan still waiting I’m only NC 17/2 but still come one what r they playing at we r all struggleing so they need to be fair , so when I ring tomorrow I’m guna be asking if they do scan dates in order if they say yes then I’ll be asking to speak to a supervisor/ manager

I get a week or so difference with holidays and what not but a month seems extreme.... there has to be more to the system, maybe it's area? If one area doesn't have as many they get through them quicker? Maybe I'm clutching at straws lol

im NC scan date 7/3 so I have a while to wait but both my letters said 15 weeks and then when I spoke to someone on the phone last week to give them my new bank details she said 25 weeks wait I wish I asked her why did the letters say 15 weeks but never mind I might wait and get to 16 weeks and call and say well the letters both said 15 weeks

I can’t see it being based on areas. But this is ridiculous seeing lots people after your date being done

Surely not by area that’s ludicrous but then again this is their system we’re taking about, I’m East Midlands Leicester

@Kirstylou91are you okay, like genuinely asking (not trying to sound cheeky)? I’ve been on these threads since December, my LO SD was 21/10 and he was awarded 13/03, waited just over 20 weeks but waited in total 26 weeks from phoning for forms. I’m currently waiting on a COC and have no clue how long it will be😬 A lot of people around my SD waited up to 25 weeks and we all sort of encouraged each other and helped each other out but I’ve seen you be quite abrupt towards people being awarded, people have different circumstances and kids have different struggles, some people even have urgent claims. I know DLA is a pain and the wait is long but people have waited longer and I haven’t seen anyone on these threads be anything but happy for other peoples kids getting what they deserve. These last few thread have been filled up by the same sort of negative things being said, if I where you i would maybe take a few days break from here because honestly I know how frustrating it is but checking on here constant doesn’t help the stress🙈X

Firstly I’m not abrupt and if u read through all my threads from 69 I have been nothing but gave my luck and be happy for people getting the help they need for their children! urgent claims yes get them done , it’s not fair for people to have been awarded 6-8 weeks after other people the people that claim they have been awarded state they’ve not gave much evidence maybe that’s y but it doesn’t take 6 weeks to read through paperwork, I am a say it how it is person and let me be honest if DLA worked in order and treated people fairly people wouldn’t be frustrated and anxious as to y there being awarded 6 weeks after other people SD . DLA r not being fair it’s clear the system is all over the place . And yes I am Okaay saying it how it is , congrats to people being awarded but come on treat everyone fair make us all wait 15 weeks or 25 weeks don’t award one at 10 weeks and another at 22 weeks that is not fair . The case handlers don’t know what there getting untill they get the claim so it should be done in SD order

I’m gunna back @Kirstylou91 on this one she was great when I was waiting and got upset that I thought my Daughter was gunna be defined to gettng a award last week she’s never once been horrible or in your face she’s just getting annoyed that her child isn’t getting a decision yet when others are that are after her and most of them people haven’t even sent in much evidence either

Sausagedogtoddles · 01/06/2025 20:50

@Kirstylou91 I'm glad someone understands my frustration, I will be calling them tomorrow as I'm panicking that she's not been awarded. Good luck tomorrow let me know how you get on.

That’s the thing I have been on the threads and your the only one that I see being abrupt and whenever someone is awarded or comments that they seen someone awarded close to your date you have a sort of passive aggressive reply. I’ve seen you be positive with people until they are awarded and you aren’t as positive after. As people have said before it’s probably decision makers getting a pile of claims to get through and it’s how fast they get through them. We are all in the same boat, like I said some might have urgent claims, I know someone that was having a really hard time financially and are in temporary accommodation and they had a family support worker and they claimed the same time as me and got awarded 2 months before me because their worker called and explained the situation, just think of things like this and that’s why you are seeing them before your SD. Honestly I agree it’s not fair how long the wait is and the system being crap , but breath and as long as you have expressed your kids struggles and sent in all the evidence you have, that’s all you can do🙈
