14 weeks today.. scan date 19.02. Still waiting. 😥
Feel so bad for people in January waiting when later Feb are being awarded💕

Has anyone been told a decision on a MR over the phone? When I called last week I was told a decision was made but I have to wait for letter I can’t be told over the phone. Going by that I’m guessing it’s a decline. I just didn’t wanna waste my time on hold if they don’t tell you MR decisions!

I've been told the same today. Been waiting a year altogether now almost and a longer wait for the letter.

Renewal 22/6 still no Tex. my last payment is 10th June, does anyone know if this will be the full payment? I don’t want to ring again I last called last week

My dd’s is due to be renewed on that date too and our last payment is the 10th! Fingers crossed we hear something by then, the wait is nerve wracking!

Honestly even if it’s a no just tell me over the phone yeah I’ll be deflated but I’m not gonna start shouting and screaming! Surely they understand the extra anxiety and stress it’s causing us as parents!

That’s just sooo lucky SD 20th Feb and being awarded , wonder if they had much evidence

TashaxJ · 28/05/2025 18:44

@Kirstylou91 it’s luck of the draw what decision maker you have I think. Mines been with a decision maker since 09/05 I mean how does it take almost 3 weeks to make a decision xx

Kirstylou91 · 28/05/2025 18:44

There all over the place! Doing any scan dates mainly middle Feb I’ve seen , also some people r waking up to back payments in accounts & some r getting the txt messages to say you’ve been awarded, problem that’s doing my head in is that not doing the same thing for everyone , they say wait for a letter but then people r receiving a substantial amount of back payment into there accounts so people r guna ring to find out the rate also the txt message to say you’ve been awarded not everyone is getting that so why there not doing it equally I don’t know

Have they had to contact anyone regarding ur claim & did u send much evidence in?

I called yesterday the lady I spoke to said ohh we don’t need any more additional evidence from you for ur claim we r just waiting on a decision and that is all

all I sent was a school report, his speech and language from when he was 3/4 & my 9 page statement

4LittleFirecrackers · 28/05/2025 19:02

sorry for the super long post…

I have a theory, might be completely wrong but just for those of you who are waiting a bit longer than others (stressful I know) but I think it might work like this:-

the files aren’t given out like a pack of cards one by one, they literally take say 10 off the top of the pile and so on. They might be 100 DM’s around the country so it’s 1000 they’re going through between them, DM number 1 gets the oldest dates and DM number 100 gets newer dates that are nearly 1000 claims in, they’re working through them at the same time so some earlier dates get done sooner and it’s just the luck of the draw of the system.
I'm assuming this is also why payments get backdated so it overall makes it fair in the end.
they're not gonna all be in the same office so it would be a waste of time to take just 1 at a time.
then once the DM has their pile of say 10 claims, they read through them all making notes ( I assume) and then contact health professionals/schools etc for more information where needed. They cannot make a decision until they get the info back so they will go through their 10 in order of all information received.
some claims, especially neurodiversity are not as clear as someone with a black and white complex health issue / terminal illness etc which will get quick decisions because it’s easy to see from hospital letters so again they will seem to be done before you but if the DMs held them back just because the date was too soon there would be even more of a backlog.
then once top of this, they will get children who have been told they are terminal who quite rightly get automatically put to the top of the pile, pushing all ours down further.

it may not be done like this but it’s the only way that’s making sense to me (my SD is March so got ages to wait but I have been through this with another child before so I do get how anxious it is as the weeks go on)

I think u may be right but it should be like a pack of cards why have scan dates if your not gunna go in order it’s not fair

I agree it should be done in order of SD if a claim is needed more evidence I do understand y this would take longer BUT they should inform u the process the communication from them is shocking, then when u ring u get a moody Margaret on the other end

TashaxJ · 28/05/2025 19:31

I spoke to someone yesterday and she said no not waiting for anymore evidence literally just waiting for a decision to be made. I sent in a 10 page statement, sleep diary, blue badge parking permit evidence, the email from the school with the NDT referral form and I can’t remember what else I think that may be it. I know it’s really annoying as I’m seeing end of feb dates being awarded and I’m still waiting from beginning of Jan xx
