Has anyone had a problem with backpay from uc my son went from mrc to higher by Mr from 21/04/24 to 2032 there's a 300 pound a month difference in disabled child element but for some reason they've gave me 900 pound from March last year until September 2024 it's updated the extra 300 a month on my journal I don't know what's happening x

Curlycookie5 · 19/05/2025 11:24

Renewal update
scan date 4/3
renewal date 12/7
date they sent the letter 13/5
Totally shocked to just open a letter to say my son will be awarded the same rate for another 2 years, so it’s taken 10 weeks for my renewal

Tonichatt2288 · 19/05/2025 11:30

Can someone take a look at this and is it me thinking they've worked it out wrong at 900 pound

Recieved a text to say form Recieved this morning, does that mean today is my scan date?
NC rang for forms on 14/4
SD 19/5 or 16/5 (when signed for delivery)
Text says within 25 weeks

Do you get transitional protection as part of your claim? You usually get that if you moved from Tax Credits or maybe some others too. Any back pay is taken pound for pound from the transitional protection. For example, if you have £300 a month transitional protection and your back pay is £200, you won't receive any back pay at all and your transitional protection will reduce to £100.

Wouldn't it be so awesome if there was an online portal??? So we don't have to keep ringing.
We could just log in and see:

Your dla claim ■
In queue □
With case worker □
With decision maker □ ✔️ since 2nd May 2025
Approved // not approved □
With payment team □

Yes!
Would save so much stress and ringing them :-/

20/01 awarded HRC for two years on the 14th. Was told no decision made on the 15th when I rang to see if I had time for extra evidence. Just goes to show it definitely depends who you speak to

Thank you, yes this was my first renewal, I’ve been watching on here so I thought I would have another 7-8 weeks to wait, I even sent more evidence last week so that wouldn’t have been scanned on before they made the decision. Happy to have the same award ☺️

Those who have been not been told decision over the phone was it bad news ?
