DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 63

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 22/01/2025 21:02

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Jenz1008 · 24/01/2025 12:58

@HM1111 they seem to be doing well hopefully us next week knowing my luck I’m in the 25 week que though

arianadee · 24/01/2025 12:58

COC 19/08 still not been looked at - I really didn’t ever think it would take this long. When I first put her claim in it only took 6 weeks to be awarded. We’re in NI and the claims seem to go bit quicker but not for COC :(

Haloh · 24/01/2025 13:07

Congrats on the award!! Same scan date as me, hopefully we’ll hear soon. Rang yesterday and she said it’s near the top of the list, think we’ll have another week or 2 to wait 😩

Hello lovely people, im just enquiring if anyone have ever made a claim for DCD/dyspraxia. My son has been referred to OT and has had a paediatric assessment and they mentioned adhd (but won't test because he's 5) and definitely think it's DCD, he is the clumsiest child you will ever meet actually had horns because of the numerous forehead bumps 🫣😂 and has to be supervised constantly even in schoo l- any advice welcome

Devilindisguise1979 · 24/01/2025 15:03

My application was declined because my child doesn’t need help with personal care for an hour. They have completely ignored all of his other needs.
he is awaiting an ADHD assessment and has had CAHMS involvement and intervention at school due to his other needs.
not really sure where I go from here!

The reason they give us very generic over the phone once you recieve the letter it will explain exactly why.

NC SD 6th September

Called Monday to confirm docs from early Dec were scanned. was told, no update until end of February. So sent more evidence on Tuesday

On Thursday we had 19 weeks of middle rate land in the bank

Today, DLA letter arrived, confirmed for middle rate until Sept 2026.

Will take it to MR, as they should have given at the very least low rate mobility as he needs equipment and has no danger awareness. With consideration for high rate care given the night care required.

Hi everyone, I have a update! i woke up this morning to a payment!
I sent extra evidence in Monday and it was recieved and scanned on Tuesday and that was the same day my daughter was awarded! I spoke to a lovely lady through option 4 who explained everything and has said she will check that the DM has seen that evidence but she thinks she has as we have been awarded HRC! Absolutely so happy for my daughter and relieved! Oh and also all this time i though my SD was the 12th it was actually the 10th so was awarded bang on 19 weeks (the 12th was the date they sent the letter out🙄) good luck to everyone still waiting! The only thing I did wonder was about appealing for HRM as I feel my daughter may be entitled but was just wondering if anyone knew how to go about that and wether I’d loose the current award?

focus on the extra care needs given. They’ve probably overlooked it because no personal care🤦🏽‍♀️ they can be terrible, ask for a statement of reasons and start an MR! X
