Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

i rang up just now they said it’s with decision maker but said it doesn’t show when it was sent to a decision maker and that it could still be over month they saying 25 weeks so hopefully not to much sooner , has anyone else claim with a decision maker and how long you been waiting

I got back pay 28th Jan and first payment was today. So maybe you will get yours tomorrow?

Hi not sure if this message is for me or not? We have an adhd diagnosis and awaiting autism assessment. We sent in all the paediatrician letters and some letters from the school senco. Send as much evidence you have, I photocopied everything. X

Hi hun yes it was, my son had been awarded but it was the breaded renewal. I have heard do many bad stories with people not getting it. At the time we only had an ADHD diagnosis. Fast forward a few years we now have an autism diagnosis, speech and language and tics/ Tourette’s . We also were given a blue badge which really helps. I put in there his ados assessment, letter from paediatric doctor that diagnosed him, his speech and language form from the school and his IEP. I’m just fighting for an eHCP for him now x

So did he get rewarded more this time? Could you send in more evidence? This is the first time I have ever claimed so I actually don't know much about DLA. My child has tics/tourettes also. Hope you manage to sort the EHCP, good luck x

omg hopwfully we hear this week i’ve just seen someone on facebook was awarded on the 1st march scan date was 24/10!! the end is hopefully near x

My scan date is 25/10 new claim. I contacted them on Friday & was told it hasn't been looked at yet and I could be waiting 25 weeks x

I was told last Wednesday I'd be waiting another 6 weeks . NC 29/10.

Possibly . But unlikely going by when other people have heard around the 20 weeks mark I've noticed

When I rang yesterday they said I'm looking at another 4 weeks because it's so back logged 🙃 I'm the 23/10

i rang last week and they said that they are taking between 18-20 weeks atm but they tell people 25 week to allow them extra time, i’ve seen 2 people today with scan date 25/10 been awarded yesterday! so hopefully all october scan dates will hear in the next week or 2

Hi all.

Just posted the claim for dla for my daughter 28/02 who is 6yrs old. On going assessment for autism since she was on nursery. Nursery picked up on her behaviour within the 1st week and she finally had her assessment in January 2025. I could have applied for dla a long time ago but wanted to gather more evidence i.e speech and language reports, senco reports and now a waiting list for possible adhd.

Hoping I hear back soon with an award and congratulations to all have been awarded so far. ❤️

MRC LRM Awarded

Congrats. I sent our form off in January and my dd has her assessment next week. I’m now panicking that she won’t get diagnosed. But obviously hoping that if she does, I can use the report as evidence.

I really hope so it's been a long process. We shouldn't have to fight this hard. My daughters anxiety has really picked up in the last couple months she struggles going into school sometimes. I'm hoping I gave enough evidence I even went to our GP and had him fill out part of the form.
