DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 63

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 22/01/2025 21:02

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

When you called back did you use option 4 and did you just ask what the decision was? X

Yes I rang them, they said they couldnt tell me the decision so I asked them to put me through to someone who could. Hope this helps 🙏

@Glitzxx I will do ! I think mine will come back with "need more information" due to not having a diagnosis yet . My little one is nearly 4 and on the autism pathway and is non verbal . I have evidence from speech and language and the autism pathway acceptance letter but other than that I haven't got much . Still waiting for the paediatrician's appointments to be given to us ! That's another long wait

To be honest I didn't have much for ds who was 2 when the desision was made all I sent was a speech therapy report and a letter confirming ds is on the ASD pathway. We was awarded Mrc til he 4.5

Does anyone know when I'm likely to be paid backpayment dont have the option of checking bank as it doesnt show? Is it 3-5 days ? Was awarded and backdated sent on Monday 3rd just wondering when it will actually be there I have so much I need to buy my son and I'm itching to get the stuff!! 😆 🤣. Lady said Thursday Friday or could be monday! But I just want to see how quick everyone else was paid . I'm with the halifax bank if that helps

Kirstygingee · 05/02/2025 14:39

Keepitup88 · 05/02/2025 14:41

Just found out my son was declined :( kind of suspected that was the case but I never got a report off in time . They did say that if I could send the report it would count as late evidence so will try this. I think it’s hard as I didn’t much evidence but good luck everyone :)

NicoleBrownx · 05/02/2025 14:44

Daughter was declined today 😔

Mine was the 3rd working day. I think most tend to be the 3rd working day! Though obviously it's not guaranteed.

Sorry to hear that @NicoleBrownx and @Keepitup88 to hear you were declined. Have they given reasons for refusal? You can submit MR via phone once you have received reasons x

I’m going to do an MR. Do you know what you need to do to do one? I was awaiting a specialist report which I should have next week to send. Would they consider that? Never had to do an MR before!

Mumof31171 · 05/02/2025 15:01

New poster, long time lurker!!
Congratulations to everyone who has been awarded and good luck for those who are waiting or are on the MR route.

NC SD 16/12/24 so we have a long way to go still.
my son is 10 - under camhs for self harming and suspected asd.
he has a adhd assessment in April this year.
the school have just sent off his application for a ehcp.

evidence I have sent off

literacy assessment done by local council - he works at the level of a 6 year old

referral from school to camhs

schools senco plan - includes all his adaptations from reception to date
elsa support, cbt 1Xweek, 1:1 support in all lessons, movement breaks through to lessons.

summary care record - printed off by gp
I highlighted every appointment he has had that was about his mental health or disabilities he is facing.

letter from school senco pleading with my gp to further support Luca in speeding up his upcoming assessments

refferal letter from camhsm to early help (which is starting now) so once I have a plan from that I will send that in also.

i got a few people to write a personal statement on how they know my son and how his disabilities affect him each day

aunt
grandma
his teacher
senco at the school
teacher at a camp he attends.

a sleep diary of just one night, I’m now thinking I should have done a few nights

I called up for my forms myself as it took me a while to gather all my evidence and supporting documents.
