DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 63

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 22/01/2025 21:02

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

I'd call because some October dates are already awarded. I was scared to call but everything i do they say no update yet 😂x

Is the October dates being awarded on Facebook groups? Sorry, just trying to keep track of dates being done and haven't seen many October ones yet and not on Facebook thanks

Tjay19 · 05/02/2025 12:16

Coc - not sure of my scan date but I posted the forms back 20/09/24. Nothing yet.

Lyannaa · 05/02/2025 12:19

My receipt letter says current waiting times are 15 weeks.

with HRM you’ll need professionals backing up everything. Have you sent in reports ?

I’ve sent in all you’ve mentioned and final ECHP plan but it keeps referring back to age as 3 years old. Currently appealing as turned down at MR. hopefully you get a better outcome x

@zoeybrooks45 Age does matter but the describers and DM guide is generally.
Detailed descriptions on how the child's condition significantly inpacts their ability to walk outdoors. Often requiring constant supervision due to unpredictable behaviour, a lack of danger awareness or severe sensory. supported by medical reports from either pediatricians, OT, psychologists or their umberella neurodevelopmental, sen, EP, camhs, salt.
Very unpredictable and dangerous behaviours that they require constant supervision when awake - could include describers of wandering off, running into traffic, self harm behaviour.
Impact on walking - describers of how the child's condition directly affects their ability to walk outdoors including describers of frequent interruptions due to sensory overload, pain, anxiety, difficulty with balance or coordination.
Lack of understanding of danger - evidence to include, the child has no awareness of potential risks like road traffic or hazards in the environment leading to unsafe situations.
Supporting evidence should include the child's diagnosis, symptoms and functional limitations.
Is there anecdotal evidence ( personal account) - concrete examples of situations where the child's inability to walk safely outdoors has caused significant concern and required intervention from a caregiver, parents and teachers and senco included.

Paper evidence
Educational reports - statements from sen highlighting specifically difficulties relating to mobility and extreme behaviour.
Therapy reports - detailing the child's functional limitations and specific challenges with walking.
Caregiver statements - detailed accounts explaining the child's daily struggles and the level of supervision needed.
Diagnosis letter - specific diagnosis.

Not sure if this may help you xx

The letter arrived for my youngest (9) today- dated 28th
RENEWAL- current award end date 28th February. SD- 4/11. Rates stayed the same MRC + LRM until end of June 2027. Happy with that. Same Day as my 16yr old got his back pay for his NC.
