DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 63

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 22/01/2025 21:02

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

i am assuming when DMs award it is sent to another department to backdate award and calculate then issue the payment. It should be all those within a day or two. You probrably have a decision call and press option 4.

hi thank you for your help, i rang up and was told that although my nc is with a dm they take a few at a time, so it may be that its being looked at currently or in a list, she was v helpful and said she'd have them text me as soon as a decision is made so i dont have to wait for the letter or ring back (which is what i think she really wants lol)

Melissac97 · 04/02/2025 14:15

Scan date 27th September
Decision made today for MRC and LRM.
Rang yesterday and wasn't even in a que for a decision maker.
Overjoyed for my little one ❤️❤️

Charrr · 04/02/2025 14:21

Just seen on facebook that an MR SD 30/8 was done on 1st Feb.

Hopefully not much longer for the September MRs now!

I didn't need the letter they just asked me the date he was awarded from (16th august) what rates he was awarded and some other security questions. I got through pretty much straight away however the gentleman said due to the move over he doesn't know if we will be owed Any as we got paid weekly but there's 11 weeks between our award and moving to universal credit so thats 11 weeks worth of the disability element on tax credits they owe! Can see they will try to fight it lol

do you know how much a week high rate care is on tax credits?

I think its just a one size fits all rate of £74.69 weekly from what the gentleman said and the tax credits website says doesn't seem to be any higher so assume it's just a fixed payment rang back earlier and they have updated and will recieve owed tax credits within the next 28 days.

Haysss · 04/02/2025 15:16

NicoleBrownx · 04/02/2025 15:44

LB1988x · 04/02/2025 15:48

My sisters MR date of 30/08 for my nephew is now with a decision maker, my MR for my son is 04/09 so fingers crossed they’re getting through the August and September dates now!

C1502 · 04/02/2025 15:49

Impressed with UC timescales. Reported change 27/1, verified next day 28/1. 29/1 with UC decision maker, today 30/1 letter saying accepted and the amount.

Says will be in account in two working days!

That's so quick! I reported the change at the weekend and had a letter added to my journal saying this...

The decision maker has reviewed the reasons for the delay in notifying us of the change.
On this occasion it has been decided that special circumstances apply and your Universal
Credit will be adjusted from the date of change.
Changes to your Universal Credit entitlement will be shown in your monthly statement.

It doesn't say anything about how much or when we will get the back pay. Wondering if it will be added to my next payment.

LittleMissOhSoTired · 04/02/2025 18:05

Has anyone had a call from a DM from a 020 number before?? Missed call but no message but no google results either.

Bel1234 · 04/02/2025 18:24

Hi everyone, I am new here.. just wondering if anyone have an update on SD 25/10? Many thanks :)

PositivityRipples · 04/02/2025 19:12

@Kw1510 No the backpay won't be added to your next payment.
The elements you've applied for will though ( disabled child element and or carers element)
You will get another letter on your journal which will tell you the amount of backpay and when it will be paid.

i rang option 4 this morning and they confirmed my son has been awarded MRC and LRM backdated to Sept. It’s such a relief as I’d convinced myself he would be declined

Congratulations, hope everyone gets what their child deserves.

I only found out because I rang to ask for an update. The agent told me a decision was made yesterday afternoon and a letter has been sent out in the post. He didn’t tell me what the outcome was when I asked he just stated everything is on the letter. So I automatically thought it was a decline and rang again selecting option 4 this time and after waiting for 47 mins finally got through and he said it was backdated to when I rang for the form, which was 16th September. Awarded until September 2026. I’m still in shock as it’s been a long and overwhelming journey and now I can finally get the things my son needs x

Hi, I posted my daughter’s forms on 5.1.25 to the Free post address. I haven’t heard anything since. I was wondering, at what point do I need to resend them because they’ve probably got lost? Is there another address I could send them to that will allow me to do tracked postage?

I sent mine tracked delivery between xmas and new year and I haven’t heard anything back either, I also sent some additional evidence about 2wks ago and haven’t had any acknowledgment that they have received that either, I’m sure it took about 6weeks last time though so I’m going to wait a little while longer and then I’ll chase it up
