DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 63

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 22/01/2025 21:02

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Not necessarily no. Ring back and choose option 4 rather than the update option.

Thank you, I’m just soo nervous to ring I’ve also just checked my bank account and no payments which makes me think it’s a decline.

Just a question. My sons dla claim is dated the 16th of August. I was still recieving tax credits and working tax credits up until november when I had to move to UC. Is it worth contacting tax credits to let them know? I've left a message in my UC journal regarding my sons new claim and such as yet they haven't replied but from reading on here it could take a while x

Edited

I would give tax credits a call, surely they need to backdate to the date you switched. If you didn’t move they would have backdated. If you owed them money they would have gone to reclaim it after the claim ended. They wouldn’t have just said, the claims ended now so never mind, so I would think the same would happen if they underpaid you. I think you have a month from the date on the letter to contact for a back pay (it’s been a while since I did it)

Awarded Thursday night the 31st of January when will the back pay show in account? I don’t have a bank that shows pending unfortunately

I recieved backpay today. And I was awarded last Tuesday. My bank doesn’t show pending. Probably Thursday most likely then

Hi my SD is 09/10 I was told in jan that I’d be waiting until the end of March for a decision but I’m now seeing people getting decisions on week 19, do you think there’s a chance it could be sooner for a decision?

Hi there I’m in the same position as you we moved over in September and she was awarded from April so tax credits will owe us I was going to ring but I’m not sure if you need the award letter I also I updated uc and they have verified it really quickly as I was very surprised

Do you know if payments are made throughout the day or if its only in the morning? sc 17/9 with dm since 21/1 wasn't going to call as i'm getting more info from this thread but i'm now thinking maybe i should?

Not necessarily no. Ring back and choose option 4 rather than the update option.

Just got off the phone to them, awarded HRC and LRM until September 2026. Over the moon this will help him soo much. I can finally get the things he needs. He m literally crying.

Honeybee45 · 04/02/2025 11:05

i rang option 4 this morning and they confirmed my son has been awarded MRC and LRM backdated to Sept. It’s such a relief as I’d convinced myself he would be declined

I didn't need the letter they just asked me the date he was awarded from (16th august) what rates he was awarded and some other security questions. I got through pretty much straight away however the gentleman said due to the move over he doesn't know if we will be owed Any as we got paid weekly but there's 11 weeks between our award and moving to universal credit so thats 11 weeks worth of the disability element on tax credits they owe! Can see they will try to fight it lol

i am assuming when DMs award it is sent to another department to backdate award and calculate then issue the payment. It should be all those within a day or two. You probrably have a decision call and press option 4.

Congratulations can I ask what extra evidence you sent me sons renewal forms should be with me by end of April time first time doing a renewal

Hannahkate90 · 04/02/2025 11:59

@126t thankyou this was my first time too the school put a note on form although it did say they witnessed behavior but he had settled since going to breakfast club (the school funded this to help transition) but I sent a risk management plan off cahms also 2 assessments off crisis team as my son is severely volatile at times both more said suspected autism then mental health another copy of his adhd acceptance letter incase they had "lost" it from the last award I also had a social service assessment due to my sons flippant and complex behaviour and attempted suicide he's only 9 and I sent copy of the referal to autism off cahms he has just had acceptance letter but I kept that back incase I needed to do MR but the first time round when he was awarded hrc and lrm I only sent adhd acceptance a flyer of a course he was doing at school on feelings and he had been refered to therapist n he was still awarded my daughter got awarded for hypermobility and bladder incontinence on just a physio letter and bladder clinic referal letter think does depend on the dm on the day.

Newnee · 04/02/2025 13:25

NC SD 21/10… called yesterday told could take anywhere up to 25 weeks.. hopefully it doesn’t as seen a few October claims been awarded this week… fingers crossed to all waiting x

Kirstygingee · 04/02/2025 13:26

The dates are messed up and definitely not in order. My date is 27/09 and called yesterday to be told there's no update wait till march but people in October are already being awarded lol x

Yeah they probably will ours is 21 weeks worth so I will be ringing lol

Emmz06 · 04/02/2025 13:56

Hi I have not long rang and all she would tell me is that a decision has not been made. When I rang last week I was told it had been assigned to a case manager. Does anyone know if this means it is now with a decision maker or not? Thanks in advance
