DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 63

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 22/01/2025 21:02

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

My daughters MR scan date is the 2/9/24, I called today and was told quite abruptly there is a backlog and not to call again they will call me if anything is needed. Just thought if let you know as we are both September and MR x

scan date 29/12/23 but i requested mr on the 10th of August 2024 still waiting to hear back. Apparently its with a decision maker finally

Shellbel10 · 03/02/2025 18:35

Is there any news on renewals

Scc1991 · 03/02/2025 18:45

MR scan date 14/01/2025
Looooong wait for me I know. I did have a chuckle at the letter I received which stated that it can take up to 11 weeks.. if only that was anywhere near true. Why not just put 25 weeks on the letter and save themselves the hassle

CountingDownToBedtime · 03/02/2025 18:48

I rang option 4 this evening,as my nerves couldn't hold out any longer.Am still in shock,my Son has been awarded HRC LRM.SD was 24/9 but will be backdated to 14/8 when I rang for the forms.
The decision was made on Friday last week apparently.
I forgot to ask when his award runs to,but will just wait for the letter to find out.Hang in there everybody, hope you all get a good outcome for your children.xx

@Shellbel10 All Renewals should be done before the current award runs out.. Apparently that's still on target.. Has your current award ran out?

Am I the only person getting confused with most recent thread 🤣 still so many comments on other threads I'll be reading and go back to it and be on a completely different number thread. Also pulling my hair out waiting waiting waiting...
MR SD 17/10/24 My sons masking is so high we are getting no support from school but they are aware, I'm so tired of feeling isolated and unheard. God knows how my son feels inside his little head 😟

@C1502 Sounds like she definitely hits the marker for significant care and substantial night care it's proving it's above the care of a child the same age that is hard isn't it.. It makes the claim process really easy for older children but very difficult for little ones .. Just make sure you highlight the night care on her absolute worst night and there's no reason she wouldn't qualify for HRC.. And then when she is 3 you can put in for mobility.. 🤞🏼

Someone suggested a sleep journal so I’m going to do that untill I get all the extra evidence together. She definitely needs a lot more extra care than others her age and it doesn’t help the form is so difficult to fill in for her age 🤣

Is there any payments pending in your account?

Unfortunately I'm with the Halifax and it doesn't show pending incoming payments it only shows once you can spend it!!

I would say just keep checking if anything falls into your account as sometimes money goes in before you receive the letter. Or you could try ringing them and selecting option 4. Hope it’s good news for you. Good luck ☺️

PositivityRipples · 03/02/2025 20:40

@C1502 Yes I've seen others put sleep diary's / journal in as supporting evidence and they've said it helps..
I'd call it a night time journal though and input all meds through the night, any feeds, any care, any support, reassurance, nappy changes, bed clothes changes, awake and sleep windows, unable to settle ect ect and anything else. Just pretty much what a night looks like on the child's worst night x
Anything from your child's bedtime until your bedtime you would include in the day time care, anything from your bedtime onwards would be night time care.
So anything you do when putting the child bed until you go to bed remember to include in the day time care so it changes the amount of time spent in the day caring for the child as this can make a massive difference between substantial day and night care and frequent day and night care x

Thankyou that helps a lot as she throws up sometimes too during the night because of her tube it can be even down to yawning I think she can feel it in the back of her throat and it makes her gag until she is sick so that requires changing etc. It’s so difficult to word though as sometimes I genuinely don’t sleep untill 7am and wake back up at 11am when her next feed is due my life is just naps no sleep🤣🤣so would I be best noting a day time care and night time care keeping note of all feed, meds, sleep etc? Xx

NC - 19/09

So noticed a pending payment in my account!!! It will be 20 weeks on thursday. No letter or text but I think the amount is equivalent to mrc and lrm. Absolutely over the moon for my son.

Just a question. My sons dla claim is dated the 16th of August. I was still recieving tax credits and working tax credits up until november when I had to move to UC. Is it worth contacting tax credits to let them know? I've left a message in my UC journal regarding my sons new claim and such as yet they haven't replied but from reading on here it could take a while x

I rang up this morning and was told a decision had been made and a letter sent out but the agent wouldn’t tell me what the decision was. Does that most likely mean it’s a decline???

Not necessarily no. Ring back and choose option 4 rather than the update option.
