DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 63

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 22/01/2025 21:02

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Phoned today MR SC 30/09/24- Still not with a case worker so we have a long wait on the MRs still!!!!!

ShesTheBadAss11 · 03/02/2025 10:07

What is the MR process? Can someone explain for me? Will I need more evidance? How long does it take ? Sorry new to all this x

Kirstygingee · 03/02/2025 10:11

Did you call back for your decision? X

When I phoned for mine, the lady who answered asked me my reasons there and then. So be prepared when you call for MR they will more than likely ask you the reasons whilst you are on the phone. Then, if you feel you have any further evidence then send that in too x

Oh sorry I missed her age, at least once she is older you know she is entitled to what you both deserve. It is just unfair how they are declined due to age when those needs aren't due to age they are due to complex needs. Really hope you are awarded what you deserve for her x

im going to try and send as much evidence in as possible hopefully by the end of next week🤞🏼it’s honestly so bad they should look at needs not age and thankyou xx

ShesTheBadAss11 · 03/02/2025 10:18

Still on hold option 4 , 44 mins and counting.. I'm pretty certain it's gonna be a decline . Just want to be prepared so I know what I've got to do and such x

Thankyou guess I have to wait for the letter that would state the reasons or do they tell you the reasons on option 4? X

They told me my reasons for decline over the phone, but on the letter they weren’t stated, so I had ring up again to ask them to send me the points so that I could go through them one by one x

ShesTheBadAss11 · 03/02/2025 10:23

Ok brilliant thankyou x

Angibarr11 · 03/02/2025 10:25

NC scan date 20/9
Go through this morning after 50 minutes to speak about additional evidence to be told that my son was awarded on Friday. (19weeks exactly)
MRC until 2030.

I still don't quite believe it! Hope all the September dates get good news soon!

Melissac97 · 03/02/2025 10:33

Scan date 27/9
Rang this morning, they said its up to 25 weeks wait. No decision made yet. Hopefully not long now. Originally rang in July 2024 but forms got lost in the post. Rang again 11th September and they recieved them on the 27th. Such a long process.

ShesTheBadAss11 · 03/02/2025 10:36

Finally got through!! System hasnt been updated regarding the payment but he said it looks like my son has been awarded MRC LRM !! Said to ring back later today as hopefully they will have updated the system and they will be able to tell me when to expect backdated payment and such! X

Keepitup88 · 03/02/2025 10:40

I just called up.. long wait on the line today! No update on my claim, it’s still with the decision maker (19weeks today). I gave them my sons teachers email address as they are going to have no luck calling (told me they had tried to call last week!)

Kirstygingee · 03/02/2025 10:44

Congrats! You can stop worrying now lol x

ShesTheBadAss11 · 03/02/2025 10:47

Aw thankyou. When you make the claim you Dont have the worry!! But as the weeks go on and on you start second guessing things did i write enough? What if I didn't send enough evidence? I'm so thankful and these boards have kept me going honestly. I hope you all get your needed and deserved outcomes. PHEW! X

Joanna8412 · 03/02/2025 11:14

Anyone know where they are up to with COC. Filled in mobility form due to son turning 5. SD 27/09. 2 weeks ago was told it was with DM. When called about his brother claim which was awarded. Today i was told its in the que. what reason would it of gone from DM back to holding que? Feel concerned now.

That's exactly what I'm like now SD 27/09 and worrying I didn't fill enough of the form in detail lol. Glad you got the outcome you wanted x

@Stacey0909 backpay usually goes in on the 3rd working day (but can be anywhere from 3 to 5 working days)

I'd expect to see it tomorrow but give it until Thursday.

We got our UC backpay today for disabled child element. Quite impressed with how quick they are! I had heard negative things.

What date were you awarded?

Honeybee45 · 03/02/2025 11:53

SD 27/09 I rang earlier and was told a decision was made this morning but I have to wait for the letter to find out the decision which will take 7-10 days. Now I feel more stressed not knowing!

PositivityRipples · 03/02/2025 12:03

@Ems20112019 @C1502 Being registered blind is not an automatic entitlement to high rate of either element of Dla.. Dla isn't awarded based on diagnosis it's awarded based on care and mobility needs so you still have to be very thorough and send supporting evidence.. Maybe what they meant when they told you that if your slightly sight impaired child was registered blind they would have been entitled to high rate they meant that based on what you had filled out on the form and the extra care needs and age of child along side diagnosis not just an automatic qualification for high rate.
So @C1502 you are doing the right thing gathering all your extra evidence and night care explanations.

ShesTheBadAss11 · 03/02/2025 12:08
