Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

First time claiming and received money in my account today! Sent forms off around 9th September, got a letter from them 26th October to say received and it may take 15 weeks. I have no idea what we have been awarded as haven't received a letter from them yet. Good luck everyone

Then request back pay in your journal under payments

I did this part was wondering if I had to tell them the rates I was awarded because I didn't put it x thanks hun x

Lfair2025 · 28/01/2025 12:37

Said my backpay was going in today what time should it go in

MR scan date 21/08
Decision yesterday 27/01
22 weeks 6 days

Changed from MRC to HRC! Which I knew it would be. Motorbility stayed the same on LRM. I am going to fight this in tribunal as my son qualifies under SMI’s every point.

But for now I’m so relieved and happy that my son’s care needs have been recognised 😌

Congrats! I am waiting for the same. I haven’t called today but can tell they will probably decline LRM. I will go tribunal aswell. Did the say when the decision was made why didn’t change the HRM? X

I plucked up the courage and phoned. She was lovely and so helpful!!

Decision made yesterday LRM and MRC, awarded from September 2024 to September 2026. Honestly over the moon 🎉

to be fair though I do believe he qualifies for HRC but I won’t be doing an MR. I just can’t put myself through the wait and the thought that they could lower or take the award away. And considering it has to be renewed September next year, that will soon be here so I’ll mention in on renewal instead of MR!

Thank you to everyone on this group for keeping me nearly sane 🤣🤣

Woo so glad you called!

B2B25 · 28/01/2025 12:57

@Ash900 I've seen this posted before.

When I did it yesterday though it asked me education dates which I found weird!! It was verified this morning though rather quick.

@AllTheWaiting thank you so much for giving me that info and a little insight to your little one, exactly the same as my son!!
Did you have an ehcp?
Your award gives me hope because my son also fits both, I just cannot begin the vuw test because my sons behaviour doesn't allow me to, I also have letter from senco and doctors x

Yes he had an EHCP, I sent that in with his original claim.

What's your S/D? X

Thank you! Just followed those steps and seemed easy enough and it now says they’ll write a journal entry when it’s verified so hopefully I’ve done it right. It seems so though!
and I’m glad I called too. Could of had a few more very anxious days otherwise 😂

So when you made the coc on uc you would of said which rate your child is now receiving so they’ll be able to sort back pay from that information x

Congratulations!!

I'm 19 weeks today!

Did you call or receive a text? I'm resisting the urge to call until at least 20 weeks (next Tuesday) I haven't received a any texts through the whole process so don't think I'll get a text if awarded. But I'm anxiety while waiting is intense I just need to know!

Have you called today? I’m hoping you get the award your little one deserves 🤞🏽

No I didn’t because my head was spinning and I have ADHD so I would have forgotten when I got off the phone and/or said something stupid 😂

I need a paper trail for everything! I’m 100% challenging the decision to stay on LRM. I know it’s the wrong decision and not what my son should be awarded. In it for the long haul now 😬

currently with the DM, I think, she didn’t sound convinced. Asked me why I’d also applied for PIP- they told me To as he turned 16 before the claim was looked at so he wouldn’t automatically get an invite.

Requested forms the beginning of September and they had an expiry date of 23rd October
I sent them within the required timescale
but then I got a letter saying they were scanned on their system 30/10
does anyone know if they will backdate back to the original date of September
because I did send the forms before the last date, they just took over a week to scan them in? TIA x

Flowers90 · 28/01/2025 16:28

The pay will be from the date you requested the forms the S/D is the same as me & similar times of requesting forms!S/D just means when they added to the system
Good luck, Im assuming we will hear mid/end of March
