DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 63

zoeybrooks45 · 22/01/2025 21:02

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Hey, more evidence for my boys was requested last week. So I sent it via the freepost either Thursday or Friday. I cant remember which day.
Do you think this would have been recieved yet?
Is it worth phoning yet to make sure it's been recieved?

Kirstygingee · 28/01/2025 10:43

Can I ask what evidence they asked for? Keep seeing people say they've asked for more evidence and worried they're gonna ask me cos I didn't send much! & It's always worth calling because some people's evidence has been lost in the post x

Justanotherlove · 28/01/2025 10:52

.... We do collect some evidence as parents, don't we, to prove their condition the best we can, but if there asking for more, what do they expect? I feel really uncomfortable keep asking for people to write something....
how are others finding gathering evidence? Any good way of asking others to help because for me I'm struggling and I thinks it's just weird keep asking people to write something x

CPLPmam · 28/01/2025 10:58

I sent evidence off last Thursday too and currently been on hold 50 mins trying to find out if it's been received. 🤞

No, I’m on the phone now to option 4. I feel sick 😬

Any news?

B2B25 · 28/01/2025 08:25

I would definitely try calling @Ash900 if you're able.

I called yesterday and they had awarded over the weekend. My scan date was 13/9 so very close to yours. I last called Friday 😆

I’m going to wait until Friday to give them the rest of the week. Then if I still haven’t heard, I have another meeting with his senco lady in school at 10am on Friday so I’ll ask her if they’ve been in touch with school and if they haven’t then I’ll call them again and ask if a decision has been made. Hoping I hear from them before then though 🤞🏼

LittleMissOhSoTired · 28/01/2025 11:02

Just called up to let DLA know that I have new evidence on the way. I didn't ask for an update but the lovely man offered me one, so of course I said yes 🤣
He said not with a DM yet but not far off now.
He also said don't take the 25 weeks as Gospel the timelines are reducing but they have to allow 25 weeks because sometimes claims aren't always simple and have to allow time for extra evidence requests and anything else they made need to check or chase their end.
He was a really nice guy and very reassuring.

My SD is 15/10

MrsB97 · 28/01/2025 11:03

Sd 13/08, COC
Phoned and got told it went to a DM yesterday, hopefully hear something soon.

Hey, they asked me for some evidence from school, which I sent some minutes from meetings that we've held and also a report from his send teacher.
But in their defense I don't think I filled the form out correctly. X

Starboymummy · 28/01/2025 11:41

Hi, anyone know how uc work, as in I know you get extra for disability and careers, I asked for backdate but will they automatically know what rate I get as I forgot to put that ?

Any news?

MR scan date 21/08
Decision yesterday 27/01
22 weeks 6 days

Changed from MRC to HRC! Which I knew it would be. Motorbility stayed the same on LRM. I am going to fight this in tribunal as my son qualifies under SMI’s every point.

But for now I’m so relieved and happy that my son’s care needs have been recognised 😌

Yes. Took just over an hour. Additional evidence had not yet been received or scanned. However, a decision had already been made this morning, awarding HRC, LRM until August 26. So relieved. Hope you hear soon.

Oh that's brilliant news. Very happy for you

Ash900 · 28/01/2025 12:15

I plucked up the courage and phoned. She was lovely and so helpful!!

Decision made yesterday LRM and MRC, awarded from September 2024 to September 2026. Honestly over the moon 🎉

to be fair though I do believe he qualifies for HRC but I won’t be doing an MR. I just can’t put myself through the wait and the thought that they could lower or take the award away. And considering it has to be renewed September next year, that will soon be here so I’ll mention in on renewal instead of MR!

Thank you to everyone on this group for keeping me nearly sane 🤣🤣

Ash900 · 28/01/2025 12:19

Can someone tell me what I need to do next with UC please? I see people say do a change on circumstances and write on journal for back payment but I don’t know what I’m doing and don’t want to do it wrong!
