Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

@puglover93 i think everyone here can feel your pain but unfortunately it seems they don't award for long periods of time because they think that children with diagnosis and support will improve, I think children with physical disability get longer x usually I think 2 or 3 year awards are pretty much standard for themxx

Yes if course. I didn't claim knowingly under either as I didn't know about this forum when I did the forms (this place is a gosdend).

Child meets both criteria now I've read up more, but was awarded under VUW until end 2031. Turned 5 whilst waiting for a decision.

Child non verbal ASD & GDD. Moved to a resource base school during the wait time. Had a brief statement from Sendco and a 9 page letter form myself explaining the difficulties we face getting around.

Everything in me once I found this site was prepared for a MR. I feel so extremely lucky honestly.

I’ve just seen an award for the 28/08 on Facebook for a mr also a 22/08 mr decision as well 🙈 stressed to bits how can dates after ours have an outcome??

It is frustrating. I’ve seen that too. What I’m telling myself is that they’ve had a load of information from me so it'll take longer to go through it all.

Trying to stay positive but this is difficult. All I can think is a lot of people get a decision the same day it’s with a DM and mine was with one last Wednesday (or so the lady on the phone told me) so when I’m waking up every morning to no back pay the hope is literally draining day by day 🤣
I feel like now I’m just waiting for the letter in the post 🙃
My anxiety shoots through the roof when I think about ringing them so I can’t

Scan date 12/09.
called Monday last week and was given the 25 week speech and he didn’t even check. then called Wednesday last week and was told it was with a DM, she didn’t know how long it had been with one just that it was with one at that point. She did tell me it could still take 5 weeks but I assumed she only said that as that would then take me to the 25 week mark.
I know I haven’t waited long and it could still very well be with a dm but I’m thinking a lot of people get decisions same day it’s with one. I’m being very impatient I know 😂
I struggle with calling so I just can’t call again!

Don’t be silly. You have been waiting a long time. It’s hard to say, the only thing you can do is call for an update. Maybe check if they are waiting on further information or something is holding your application up x

It might just be coincidence as others have emailed and got no where. It is worth a try though x

Same scan date 12/9 the wait is driving me crazy. DDs is still with the decision maker atm. Keep seeing so many people find out that had scan dates after us. Fingers crossed we hear soon

I called yesterday and they had awarded over the weekend. My scan date was 13/9 so very close to yours. I last called Friday 😆

Received text message yesterday saying DD qualifies for DLA. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive payment after receiving the text?

I’m calling again now. Preparing for the soul destroying “it’s not been looked at yet” MR 21/08. 23 weeks tomorrow 🫠

Your award gives me hope because my son also fits both, I just cannot begin the vuw test because my sons behaviour doesn't allow me to, I also have letter from senco and doctors x

I called Wednesday last week told 25 weeks....promised myself I wouldn't call till 20 weeks, sent more evidence that arrived yesterday morning. I want to call and make sure it's been scanned so bad but I'm so nervous incase a decisions been made. And said to myself I wouldn't call till 20 wks
