DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 63

1000 replies

zoeybrooks45 · 22/01/2025 21:02

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.
New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?
Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.
Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.
If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)
Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.
If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Not DLA related, well it is indirectly, but I just phoned choose and book to see where my daughters referral for ASD ADHD and DCD was up to, they said she was referred June 2024 and they are currently working on referrals from Nov 2022 🤦‍♀️ I am losing hope that she will ever be seen. It's taken years to get to this point she was first flagged up in nursery at 2 years old but they never got the ball rolling with forms, 2nd nursery was better but they messed up the forms and they were rejected on technicalities, like they hadn't signed in the right place silly stuff like that. Since F2 they got the process moving properly but it still took till jan last year to get the ed psych, adhd assessment and ehcp completed and the end of school year 1 is when her referral was actually put through, I thought it had been from when they first started the process in F2 🤦‍♀️ She's now in year 2 age 7 and it seems like she won't get seen till she's in year 4 or 5 at this rate. It's all so disheartening. Sorry not DLA related I just needed a little vent 😬

My daughter was referred to paediatricians in year 3 and she's only just had her first appointment in year 6, it's horrible the waiting times when she was first referred in year 2 her referral was declined through lack of evidence so she had to go to cahms for them to refer her and she was accepted so took even longer. I feel for you the wait is daunting x

I had to move my daughter’s school as they were not helpful. New school forgot to submit her referral 2 years on the run. And now her referral has been declined. School have said she without a doubt has ADHD and possibly Autism. I give up for now, and be got no energy left for it. My son only got his ASD diagnosis last year aged 12 after fighting since her was 4 years old.

They said but can never be certain. Are you appealing a decision 1st time or was it declined? Apparently they are quicker if you don’t have an award in place already x

My autistic daughter was totally refused so she’s got nothing in place at the moment hope you right hun 🤞I’ve been here before with our other daughter we ended up at tribunal really hope we don’t have to do that again 🙈

Charrr · 27/01/2025 10:24

Do DLA call on no caller id?

Waiting for a MR and have had a missed call Thursday and one again this morning. Both on no caller id.
They left no voicemail though, so no idea who it is.

CoffeeMamaa · 27/01/2025 10:28

Scan date 12/09 just been awarded , I can see pending payment.

Haven’t had any texts or any calls.

Although I believe it’s not the correct award so I will be hanging around and going for MR.

Alecia08 · 27/01/2025 10:39

Couldn’t resist and just phoned up. SD 24/09 was told they are taking about 5 months and to expect to hear by the end of February.

Take it with a pinch of salt. I’ve been told all sorts with previous claims for my kids. Was told it was no where near and not with a decision maker last year and a few days later I had a text to say he was awarded!

Alecia08 · 27/01/2025 10:58

Just getting a bit anxious about it now. Plus his birthday in a few weeks I’d love to be able to tell him he’s been awarded

MR 21/08 I’m appealing a decision to not change my child rates that he’s been on since birth. 8 years old, lots of issues and diagnoses. Yet on the same rate as he was a baby 🫠

Vanishabenj · 27/01/2025 11:23

Decision was made on 21st
tried calling to find out what this was and was told to wait for the letter…
no payment or letter as yet :(

SD around end of May 24, MR 13/09/24 Awarded MRC LRM today. It was marked urgent - i saw on thread 62 someone complained their letter stated 15 weeks and it was over so I did the same, instead of ringing id emailed [email protected] to complain that the timescale in my letter hadn't been met. Emailed 15th Jan, Awarded 27th Jan. She was only denied due to the DM speaking ro someone who didn't know DD at all and said there was nothing wrong with her, which is insane lies so I sent evidence that the school are having a lot of problems and she isn't currently doing any school work. I cried when she rang, she said she coukd see how difficult things are and that she was Awarded such a lovely lady! 2 years as she's not yet diagnosed but ASD and ADHD assessments waiting.

Called again, and have been advised a decision wasn’t made - was apparently left unattended. Marked as priority😑

Lion10 · 27/01/2025 12:48

Sent my son's form off on the 13th, should they have received it by now? 🙈

Daisy4877 · 27/01/2025 13:12

Rang this morning to ask where to send some evidence as apparently there's different sites was told claim IS at the top of the pile but to send in the bits anyway pref nextday signed for and then to ring on weds to make sure they have been added to the claim , Although he did say that it can take anywhere from 1-10 days to process them onto the claim ? but he's put a note on apparently just stating I'm sending some bits in. Our family support worker gave me her neurodiverse statement which is 3 pages long strong all my daughters needs , Also managed to get a couple of bits of paperwork from the doctor regarding physio refusals, How my daughter has had long standing hypermobility and incontinence and also a paediatrics letter from December. Hopefully that will be enough. Daughter hasn't attended school fully since Feb 8th last year and has been for a total of 11 days since then so pointless them contacting the school but I'm pretty certain I stated my daughter wasn't in school at present anyway!
