Hey! Thought I'd make a new thread as previous one very close to being full!

These threads have been a big help whilst waiting for the outcome of our application. Sure they help everyone else too! It's stressful!

Please feel free to add your scan date and whether it's a new claim/mandatory reconsideration/change of circumstances or renewal.

New claims (NC) - people are being told the wait time has increased to 25 weeks! I would say most are done before this though around the 20 week mark?

Mandatory reconsideration (MC) and Change of circumstances (COC) is around 20-25 weeks.

Renewals tend to be between 15-20 weeks.

If you disagree with the outcome of an MR you can appeal and go to court (tribunal)

Scan date is the date DLA scan your application forms on to their system, if you downloaded your application forms then this will be from when your award will be backdated from. If you called up for forms then the date on those is the date yours will be backdated from.

If successful and claiming universal credit (UC) please update them as this will entitle you to disabled child element adding extra to your award.

Coc sd 09/08, I called yesterday still in a queue but I’m ringing again as yesterday they said could be with a dm for 4 weeks so if still not assigned that would go way over 25 weeks wanting to know where we stand with this , someone on Facebook got a decision in 3 weeks , how is that ? I’m so confused as to what’s going on and why things aren’t been done in date order

just called up for an update been told it’s allocated to a decision pile not a decision maker? Can some explain what that means because the call handler was very eager to put the phone now lol. TIA x

i just seen someone was awarded from October so there is hope for us 🤞🏽

I’m on hold now although I’m 09/08 we need to know where we stand once over 25 weeks , it seems they are just picking whichever one they want and others getting moved further down the line

Im a bit worried ill be declined as sleeping habits are fine sent what evidence i can suspected asd and adhd but sleeping habits are fine help

My scan date was 17th August and I’ve just received backpay today. No letter to state the award just yet.

Just called because we've hit 16 weeks now. Very nice man, said he understood the wait is frustrating and that COCs seem to be taking around 20 weeks at the moment. Said no decision has been made but it has gone to a DM and to call back if I haven't heard by the 31st Jan.

Who knows if its true but 🤞

Spoke to a lovely woman who’s has told me middle of feb as looks like it could be changed to 30 weeks I said u don’t realise the upset this causes and she could only apologise, but sorry 30 weeks is a joke

just called and the woman I. The phone said no decision as of yet and they are advising upto 25weeks wait. I explained I’m in financial hardship as my son is about to start a specialist provison and need to get new uniforms and arrange travel etc. I only work part time and have 3 other children and school runs! the lady then said it shouldn’t be too long a wait for us now! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Im literally so anxious about it now it’s all I can think about! lol.
how long did everyone wait after stating they are in financial hardship?

called today as it’s just passed 15 weeks and the lady said I’m only on 11 weeks🙁 and have another 14 weeks to go ! X

Just rang as going through so many issues at the moment, was told my son had a decision today I cried like a baby on the phone. My baby can finally get the help he deserves. Was a young lad i spoke to and he was so lovely I may have scared him by sobbing on the phone.

HRC awarded baxk dated to 10/7
and LRM From February when he will be 5.
I am shaking and can't stop crying .

Big news! SD NC 20/8 rang for decision, told me one had been made today (no text) and I was asked to be put through to someone who could tell me. My 5 year old with all the allergies and very severe eczema has been awarded highest care (no mobility) I'm in shock. So glad we were encouraged to do it, I've broken dry January as I needed a glass of wine to calm my nerves! Actually crying with joy. I didn't expect to get it. I do need to reapply in Aug due to his age but I am still thrilled!

Honestly, it is just exhausting, constantly chasing everyone and everything to give your child everything they need.
It annoyed me more the rude man on the phone telling me I am just past 22 weeks when I am 23 weeks!

It is such a hard battle 🥺

Part of me knows people with new claims are not currently getting any money for their children so COC might not be a big priority. But it is kinda heartbreaking reading about people in Sept/Oct being awarded and your forms have not even been allocated a DM yet 😭
