DLA WAIT TIMES THREAD 55
Kel3270 · 19/11/2024 15:38

So...update...I don't know if it's good or bad. Not sure if some of you remember that my OG SD was 13/06 but I missed a page so they sent me the form back which then made my scan date 17/07. Just spoken to a lovely lady after pressing 4 on the 3rd option instead of 2....she's told me that she was actually able to change the date back from the 17/07 to 13/06 so my claim is now actually at 22 weeks 5 days instead of 18 weeks tomorrow. She said this should now push it forward but I could still be waiting the 2 weeks. But surely this should of been done sooner? But who am I too complain. But now I have more anxiety 🤣🤣

Grolma20 · 19/11/2024 15:40

SD 10/7
called this morning and told to wait another 8 days. Had a phonecall this afternoon to ask a few questions as DD has switched to high school since forms went in. She said she will be awarded and will make payment today and I’ll receive in 3-5 days 🎉 just waiting on DS claim now SD 18/7. He switched from preschool to primary school so I wonder if I’ll get the same phone call

Thecrazyone94 · 19/11/2024 15:41

Has any got the postal address please?

Kel3270 · 19/11/2024 15:44

Amazing 😍, congratulations 🎉

Kimh95 · 19/11/2024 13:28

Wow so many awards today 🤩

S/d 18/7 it’s getting closer. Really trying to hold off ringing till next week. Anyone will similar scan date called up today?

My scan date is 16/7 I called again today!! Can’t help myself!! And today I was told maybe before Christmas🫠🫠

Kimh95 · 19/11/2024 16:19

Every time I’ve called I’ve been told a different date 😂 I called at 15 weeks and the lady on the phone told me I’d have a decision definitely at 17 weeks 🙄 and here we are still waiting been told early December

AugustLily · 19/11/2024 16:24

S/D 11/07. Congratulations to all the have been awarded. I hope that the rest of us will hear soon as this wait is becoming unbearable.😄

Katie1906 · 19/11/2024 16:30

Seen a huge amount of positive decisions today on the Facebook pages. Usually Wednesdays and Fridays are big news days from what I've noticed. Hopefully they must have had a rocket up their butt's so fingers crossed for us all over the next few weeks 🤞

Kc1999x · 19/11/2024 16:58

I wonder if there’s like one decision maker per type so one for renewals, one for COC, one for New claims, and one for MRs.
only way I can justify this longggggg wait😂😂😂
seen someone applying under special circumstances been waiting 20 weeks🤦🏽‍♀️

PollyH3 · 19/11/2024 19:14

I'm driving myself mad now looking on here and Facebook 😬 I really do wish they would do it in actual order

Oooh this sounds promising! Keep calling to check. You never know! 🤞🏻

Ivytor · 19/11/2024 19:49

So I phoned today and asked since my date of application was 6/8 that they should honour this as it was a fault with their system that made it so that I had to post a hand written form which was scanned on 4/10, it’s completely not fair to put me at the back of the queue essentially when my date of application was 6/8.

the adviser said he will try his best - but even if they do change his SD to 6/8 does anyone think there will be a chance of this being done this year?

Ivytor · 19/11/2024 19:51

Also is it worth my while to press a different option rather than 2? Maybe 4? As everyone I have spoke to recently is genuinely so rude 😂 maybe it’s because I do call frequently but it is because I feel asif some of their practice with my application is unfair.

I was speaking to someone in Scottish child payment and it was like night and day how nice they were

Oh I definitely will now 🤣🤣 I'll be phoning at 9am to see if it's actually been changed xx

There's a possibility, just keep ringing and mentioning it. That's what I did. I'll let you know tomorrow if it's worked x

My son won’t cope with main stream at all, he in year 5 now and I’m pushing this ehpc for putting him not a special school but a technology school. They still do minimum maths English and science but a lot is hands on wood work and engineering, the school only holds 400 pupils I need to get him in there.
its so hard for these kids and I really do understand send parents. My daughter is 13 and just had the assessment from Chams for autism and adhd, she bloody hard work I can tell you. So honestly love I understand. If I get the award for my son I will put in dla for my daughter as well as she sneaks out at night everything, we have to have family look for her at sill Aclock as turns phone off.
I really do understand send parents at its finest. Unfortunately my daughter was just put down to being shy and social anxiety until she took a knife on the street and had intervention and they picked up on things with her very quickly x

That sounds really hard. Hats off to you for coping so well and doing the best for your kids and trying to get them the support they deserve. My 15 year old is a challenge shall we say. She is under RISE now to try and get her some help. My son goes to specialist school. It took them 5 months to find a school that would accept him. His attendance is awful but short of carrying him in I don’t see what we can do really.

I was going to call again however now I know they log how many times you call I’m gonna wait till 20weeks😂

I only knew from the last time k called as he said you called yesterday and wasn’t the same person. I said yes I want to know if you have my additional evidence or not 🥴😂

SKB12 · 19/11/2024 21:10

Kc1999x · 19/11/2024 12:41

Just some for the last week of June/ beginning of July🤦🏽‍♀️ I’ve got evidence I’m waiting on but could take a couple of weeks so not sure if I’ll have time🤦🏽‍♀️ have they scanned yours on the system?

No they haven’t scanned it but I sent it freepost last Monday and another piece on Saturday so today I’ve resent but signed for. You can call them and say don’t make a decision until they have that evidence but then you risk having it taking even longer for a decision. I would call them and say you are waiting on some evidence and will submit asap and ask them to make a note of it

SKB12 · 19/11/2024 21:16

Lovely1589 · 19/11/2024 13:11

That’s why I thought it was weird her saying it could be done by 15 weeks surly she couldn’t and shouldn’t be aloud to say that unless she thought there was a high possibility. I’m week 12 tomorrow. The 15 weeks is week two weeks before Xmas, it’s pushing it to be honest and I’m not relying on it. He will just have to have after Xmas as that’s his only escape from reality is gaming. Or 25 weeks after that if I have to do a mr lol X

Edited

They can’t know for sure it’s only guesswork as they aren’t dealing with the caseloads. MR wait times are shocking. PIP ones are up to 15 weeks so 10 less than DLA.
