Who would like a Moondog Masterclass?

lougle · 12/02/2014 21:31

Moondog has been chatting on this thread and has said that she'd be willing to hold a session if enough people wanted to come.

To make it worth her while (in preparing for the session, travel, etc.) she'd need 15 to sign up. She's not advertising, by the way, I've asked her if she'd do one if there were enough of us. Smile

Sooo if there were around 15 people interested who could all get to within striking distance of Moondog/each other, it could be fantastic.

Any ideas for subject gladly welcomed - I know a few of you have been to Moondog stuff so we could avoid repetition.

I'd love to understand the basics on task break down/direct instruction, etc., but I'm probably quite a bit behind some of you ABAers, so I'm willing to go with the majority if it gets a session off the ground.

The sort of issues you describe are the sort if thing I love. I have spent the afternoon with a child who fits this description perfectly.

Yes, we can run two strands and then converge. I wouldn't be able to di anything before May at the earliest.

Ok, so May onwards...that gives time for people to have a think. Fantastic. March and April are really busy for me so I'm happy Smile

I know Moondog I was trying to go to the London meet up you did last year. When I couldn't go my SALT was trying to reschedule her life so she could go instead, we just couldn't make it work. But determined this time Smile

Lougle, you need to pick a date and a location and take it from there.
This is the first thing to get sorted I think.

I might be interested. It would have to be a weekend but no weekends attached or in school holidays for me to be able to attend though.

I have been to the last two. A refresher is always good, as is a kick up the bum, and an opportunity to meet others. But I don't want people to miss out on the fantastic stuff I have learned due to Moondog not wanting me to have a repeat iyswim.

Ok, new to Doodle, but here goes:

Poll for Date - I've started with every Saturday in May and June. If we can't get a consensus, we'll widen it out.

My biggest concern will be where

Report
lougle · 14/02/2014 17:03

me55monster can you say where you did the meet-up last time?

If people could give a list of locations they could travel to, generally, then I'll do a poll to see where the majority of us can travel to?

I can do:

Anywhere within around 2 hours of Southampton. So:

Bristol
London
Croydon
Bournemouth
Brighton
Bath
Reading
Southampton
Oxford
Swindon
etc.

Lougle I can pretty much do all the places you can - Southampton would be great though as about 10 minutes form me Grin

zen1 · 14/02/2014 18:26

London would also be best for me, but would be willing to travel up to 2 hrs by train.

moondog · 14/02/2014 19:08

We did it here and it was fine. Near lots of sandwich places so everyone nipped out for lunch. Big room and access to another to break away (which was bloody freezing actually, but it was very cold when we did it anyway.)

I'm in East anglia but I can get to St Pancras station in less than an hour. London would be great for me but looking through that list I'm willing to travel to Oxford, Reading and Brighton.

Well, my 2 hours, by public transport, rules out anything South of Leeds, unfortunately! It's not that I've been absent from this thread because I'm not interested!

I'm interested depending on where/when & topic (there's no point me going on anything that's related to HFA for example). So don't add me to the list but I'll keep an eye on the thread.

Can't do May 10/11
Can't do May 24/25 (will be in Chicago at ABA International conference)

I can make London, Southampton and anywhere within 1 hours drive of Watford! but I'll keep an eye on the date and venue. I would be most interested in helping social skills, behaviour and communication in a teenager (not HF).

I'd be interested I think. I'm near Newark so travel in all directions is feasible.

DS is 9 and I'm interested in his emotional health.

DD has massive issues with food. Weekends are best for me. Off to look at the survey.

My vote would be for London, easy to get to via train, tubes and buses.
