Is P1 the first year, play based and fairly unstructured? P2 more structured and less free play?

WilsonFrickett · 20/08/2011 00:03

It has stepped up a bit, also it's a much bigger class (Scotland has ridic amounts of legislation about P1 class sizes, but, you know, that's just the first year!) so different faces in the classroom and a new (supply) teacher. So a lot to cope with.

Worth a little chat then. Good so far though.

Right, bed for me.

our lab is very milk choc (well, apart from the black one, he's not choc at all, more of a charcoal biscuit) but with suspiciously blonde roots. whereas i, since the new hairdresser, appear to be displaying my white everythings, rather than just roots.
dd1 started school in scotland, wilson. i actually kind of prefer the way the scottish system works. no idea what it's like with sn though... i'm guessing same old same old.
dh wants to put a hot tub on the bottom deck. i am resisting the idea, as it's outside dd1's bedroom. (dh dictated we needed the upstairs room. i thought a bedroom with a deck would be kind of cool. had visions of pleasant summer evenings etc etc. we'd never actually use it, but it was a nice idea i thought.)
enjoy the spa! am guessing you've all popped off to bed whilst i was out. Grin

i've lost count of the number of times i've posted the jenny joseph stuff on here - the fact that there is an actual red hat organisation freaks me out a bit though. i'm certain i'm not really that old.

hi all... sloped off last night early. (left the lap top up stairs and ds was 'restless' Hmm, so didn't want to do the creaky stairs and risk waking him (again!)

the facial expressions give the contextual meanings to signs, (so you are able to show the difference between, please, please!! and please? IYSWIM), and yes more than one sign for Chocolate, some regional and some to show difference between, chocolate flavour and a piece of actual chocolate for example(IYSWIM)

we are out for lunch today, minus ds, Grin Grin (altho at the moment I feel a bit 'out for lunch' most of the time.... )

Morning all I sloped off to bed early, been surviving on little sleep all week and it had caught up with me I think. Was pleasantly surprised that dh had done some tidying up when I got up this morning (wonder what he's after?) although it might just have been to keep him awake whilst waiting for dd to text for a lift home.
Going shopping with older dd today to pick up a few bits for the holiday, looking forward to it as I've been stuck at home all week.

Just back from an afternoon out with my friend, her baby (11 days old) and another friend.

Got to have a cuddle :) And I get that thing about a baby's smell, he smelt lovely :)

He's so teeny tiny as well. Although I think I've forgotten how to have a baby handed to me, felt a bit scary when she passed him over to me as he is so tiny!

moosemama · 21/08/2011 10:24

Aw Lollipot, how lovely. Grin

Nothing like a newborn schnuggle to make your insides turn to marshmallow. Grin

Not seen you on the weightloss thread recently - how are you doing? Dh and I managed to do day 1, level 1 of the dreaded Shred this morning, so I'm feeling like I've been run over by a bus ridiculously pleased with myself. Grin

LollipopViolet · 21/08/2011 15:05

Moose, I will come and find you on the other thread - was doing ok then had a blip, now doing OK again but have serious ground to make up! :)

madwomanintheattic · 21/08/2011 18:37

same here. Blush i was trying to pop in of a friday for weigh-in, but then it went really quiet. i'm waiting until next week when the kids are back at school now. then it's real all systems go!
