Night galena

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 20:54

And Icansigntwuntybollocks was signandsmile's brigade name.

Verahaspurpletwuntypants · 19/08/2011 21:00

Ooh I wonder if I could be veracansignpurpletwuntypants? Although think maybe I could loose the twuntypants now. Hmmm what to replace them with?

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 21:04

Veracansignchocolate?

Gotta go watch yesterday's Torchwood now with DH and DS1. Back later.

IndigoBell · 19/08/2011 21:07

DS1 (age 10) has just asked DS2 if he'll feed his teddies for him while he's away at scout camp :) and now he's showing him how to. Apparently they need 2 custard creams every night.

DS1 is so grown up. He's packed for camp and had a bath. Not sure why but I'm really emotional. I can hear DS1 now Reading to his teddies. He's trying to explain the theory of evolution to them, but they're not really getting it Grin

and apparantly DD just set a new top speed on her bike. Glad I didn't see it because it was far too fast - 32 mph!

OP posts:
EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 21:10

32mph!? Not sure the speedo is working properly.

VeraCanSignChocolateAndWine · 19/08/2011 21:12

I can get 34 on my bike! Peddling down a very steep (and a bit scary) hill/road.

smugtandemfeeder · 19/08/2011 21:25

off to bed now, hope you all have a good weekend!!

LollipopViolet · 19/08/2011 21:25

Hello all!

Have just come back from a trip to the pub with some of the lovely people I volunteer with in a charity shop. I love this job :) I'm encouraged to ask for help if my eyesight inhibits me in any way and it's not an issue. I'm so happy to be surrounded by so many accepting people :) There's good people out there, you just have to find them :)

VeraCanSignChocolateAndWine · 19/08/2011 21:32

Night smug. Hi lollipop.

VeraCanSignChocolateAndWine · 19/08/2011 21:33

Anybody else's DCs sit under the sofa cushions? (the ones that you are meant to sit on).
I though dd had stopped doing it, but discover tonight that she hasn't. [Hmm]

LollipopViolet · 19/08/2011 21:34

Hope you're all OK. I've had some good news. My friend with CP is getting a new super-lightweight wheelchair! I cannot emphasize how horrible her old one was to push up any sort of incline, I'm so happy, as is she!

Although when she gets her new one, she says no one will have to push. I'll feel lost :(

But, it's purple, and that both our favourite colours :)

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 22:21

We like a bit of purple here! Glad you're having a good time, lollipop. Getting closer to your holiday...

Night smug, sorry, forgot to ask what film did you go and see?

Vera, lots of our DC are sensory seeking so would enjoy the pressure and security of being under the cushions. Might that apply to your DD?

smugtandemfeeder · 19/08/2011 22:29

Ellen, we saw Bridesmaids, it was the first time DH and I have laughed for about a year, a lovely night out.

can't sleep, can't sleep, must get off mumsnet! Been up since 5am but can't stop MNing!

LollipopViolet · 19/08/2011 22:36

It is Ellen, 7 weeks if I'm not mistaken, then I'll be in Cyprus!

Oh and my friend L had a baby boy last week, first in my group of friends to have a baby, and all being well, I should be going to see them tomorrow afternoon.

Baby cuddles

I think I've forgotten how to hold a baby, it's been so long. But having been on MN, I know to look out for that "new baby smell" everyone talks about, what is it? Talcum powder, milk, and cuteness?

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 22:36

Yes, I'd have felt a bit strange to be in the cinema watching Mr Popper without any children with me! Grin Glad you had a good time. It's gone quiet, everyone on their way to bed, I think.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 22:40

Cuteness, I think, warm and milky so long as the nappy is clean.

VeraCanSignChocolateAndWine · 19/08/2011 23:05

Maybe ellen. I'm not entirely sure. She does like to wrap herself up in things, the rug, or non slip mat thingy from under the rug.
Must remember to mention it to the appropriate person.

Also just thought I ought to mention my dd has just fallen asleep on my back. (am lying on my bed).

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 23:11

Another thing to mention to the Paed or OT, yes. Some DC use weighted vests or blankets. Who knows if it's relevant, but best to list everything.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 23:13

When I was pregnant with DS3 I'd fall asleep on the sofa and wake up to find DS2 (age 2.6) lying on top of me!

WilsonFrickett · 19/08/2011 23:26

Everyone gone to bed? I had to have dinner, chat and Sons of Anarchy with DH. Poor me Smile

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 23:34

I'm still up, but not for much longer. Mind you, the Inbetweeners is on Channel 4.

WilsonFrickett · 19/08/2011 23:40

DH has just lept on it with enthusiasm. I'm soon for bed though as I have to be fresh for the spa..... And DS is up with a nightmare. Guess the P2 transition will pop out somewhere though?

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 23:45

So how long has he been back? All this week?

WilsonFrickett · 19/08/2011 23:49

2.5 days - they went back on Wed and Fri is a half day. I have been very restrained and have merely said 'hello, I am WilsonJrs mother' with a hard stare. Looking forward to my 'getting to know you' chat on Monday.
