Evening all.......

OP posts:

I don't actually drink Wine (well I do about 3 times a year) but I have chocolate.
But you can't have any unless you sign "chocolate please" that's the rules in our house. Wink

Galena · 19/08/2011 20:27

Oohhhhhhh, climbing... Don't talk to me about climbing. Someone ( Blush ) showed DD how to move the footstool to the sofa to help her get on it, so today I walked into the living room to find her kneeling on the windowsill (behind the sofa)!!

Galena · 19/08/2011 20:27

Madly signs 'Chocolate please, please, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!'

smugtandemfeeder · 19/08/2011 20:28

Indigo - good luck searching for a nanny. I know how totally draining it was searching for a childminder and at least you dont have to have them in your house. Everyone seemed rubbish, until we found the good ones that is.

Ellen - the most exciting thing that happened to me was the netmums stuff. My life is sad - - it was hilarious though! They were so clueless for such a long time. Im pleased we got a result in the end though.

DH and I nearly went to see Mr Poppers Penguins on our date night out this week (first night out together for 4 months!!) - Im soooooo glad I had my Iphone with me to read reviews online before coming to a much more sensible decision!!

Ellen the money box made me wet myself, it was almost beyond imagination. Grin

Wilson - sorry your spa day looks like being cancelled. I so look forward to things as they are so few and far between. it means so much more than it does to others.

We have still not sorted the DLA problem with my Social worker calling them without my permission to tell them there is nothing wrong with DS. Utter filth (does that phrase pass the mumsnet not offending people test?)

Sorry for the long rambling post

moosemama · 19/08/2011 20:28

I would be safe in your house then - chocolate is strictly off the menu for me at the moment and there's no way I could sign 'chocolate please'.

I do however have some Mango and Blackcurrant sorbet, which is actually a necessity after the garlic, ginger and chilli stirfry I've just consumed.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 20:29

My cbeebies days are over! Yippee! My baby is 9 and has two big brothers to impress. And no more stairgates.

Can I have some chocolate? I'm waiting for the curry to arrive and I'm starving...

Chundle · 19/08/2011 20:31

Wine Wine Wine actually its budweiser but never mind :)
vera naughty2 uses the grab any toy that is solid and stable to stand on - smart thinking!

moosemama · 19/08/2011 20:32

We still have stairgates - but they're mainly to keep the dogs in. Not that it helps, as our lurcher can clear them in one spectacular deer-like leap - the git!

I have this week also remembered what a pita it is having a stair gate and locked door between the living room and downstairs loo when toilet training a two year old. Hmm

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 20:32

I can sign. C hand taps chin twice, palm on chin, hand down while frowning. (Smiling would be 'thank you')

Chundle · 19/08/2011 20:34

well done ellen :)
it suprises me that some people have no staircases and their good little babies dont even think about scaling the stairs, going in kitchen cupboards or launching themselves out of windows :)

Verahaspurpletwuntypants · 19/08/2011 20:34

Am currently teaching the puppy to sit in sign.

Galena · 19/08/2011 20:34

That's just what I was doing, Ellen, were you watching me?

Although I wasn't frowning. I thought please was a long movement and thank you was a short one (to remember, 'Please to the knees')

Verahaspurpletwuntypants · 19/08/2011 20:36

Ellen, we have slightly different chocolate signs.

Please to your knees ta to your bra. :o

moosemama · 19/08/2011 20:37

What sort of puppy have you got Vera?

Verahaspurpletwuntypants · 19/08/2011 20:38

Chundle naughty2 sounds like dd2. Although dd2 will also use unstable toys.

Verahaspurpletwuntypants · 19/08/2011 20:38

A chocolate lab. Just to keep with the chocolate thread. But he's a bourneville.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 20:39

I learnt BSL, not Makaton, BSL is a bit less rigid and has regional variations. Me, fist on chest (I not used much in BSL) want, palm slide down chest, chocolate, c hand taps chin twice, please, palm on chin, hand goes down, eyebrows frowning!

moosemama · 19/08/2011 20:40

Aw, chocolate lab pups are ridiculously cute - all rolls of puppy fat and big brown eyes.

Galena · 19/08/2011 20:41

We do Makaton, and I thought chocolate was a c-sign tapped twice on your chin too...

Verahaspurpletwuntypants · 19/08/2011 20:45

Regional variation I think. Our chocolate is c hand signed off tip of nose. But our. Dictionary shows both (total nerd here went and looked)

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 20:45

We need sign and smile, or ninja goose, they both have proper signing qualifications! The rude sign thread of a couple of weeks ago was funny, I can sign Twunty bollocks these days!

Verahaspurpletwuntypants · 19/08/2011 20:47

We're BSL too, but started with makaton and signalong but quickly changed.

Galena · 19/08/2011 20:49

Anyway ladies... Must dash. Nighty night.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 19/08/2011 20:51

Galena, did we scare you off with our rude word signing? Grin

Verahaspurpletwuntypants · 19/08/2011 20:51

I can sign fuck you. But I think that's what started the signing twunty bollocks thread came from. Blush

Although dd2 can sign doggy-wobbly bits-funny.
