Slimming World
How much have you lost? Prove it works.
BiscuitBandit32 · 09/03/2023 14:27
I just don't believe this really works. I feel like whenever I ask about it everyone insists it works but no one's actually lost anything!
I know there's success stories on the website but not that many. Seems quite hard to find people who've actually lost weight.
So...
How much have you lost?
How long did it take?
Start and current weights?
If you convince me I'll try it!!
SugarCraving · 09/03/2023 14:38
I have just joined. Contact me again in 6 weeks. I will let you know.
mintich · 09/03/2023 14:41
I started 18 months ago and lost 3 and a half stone. I need to lose another stone I'd say!
But I think it works! It's not hard to stick to. I feel like the people who say it doesn't work are people who lost the weight and immediately start pigging out!
mintich · 09/03/2023 14:43
Oh I forgot!
Starting weight 13.5 stone, now at 10. I want to be 9 stone.
blebbleb · 09/03/2023 14:45
Start weight 11 stone 9 current weight 10 stone 8. I'm short so need to lose at least another stone.
chelle0 · 09/03/2023 14:56
I lost 6 stone. 5 stone in a year. Further stone about 6 months? I was quite happy when I'd lost 5 stone.
picklemewalnuts · 09/03/2023 15:00
Started at 120kg. In a year lost 30-35kg which is about 5.5 stone.
Kept it off for a year.
It's now trying to sneak back on, possibly due to hrt or other health issues.
I didn't believe it would work, only went because that was step 1 to a gastric sleeve.
I could do with losing another stone, but seem a bit stuck, possibly because of winter and stress.
thankyouforthesun · 09/03/2023 20:52
Lost it, gained it back. Did calorie counting instead. Sorry! I went from 11st 10 to 9st 9 then got pregnant again, baby weight both times. Went vegan the second time and I don't think SW is great with veganism no matter what the group leaders say.
SW can work well if you're one of those people who follows well with the spirit of the rules not the letter of them and you don't try to look for loopholes. If you make stupid cakes out of weetabix and mashed chickpeas you won't lose weight. If you eat 1/3 plate of veg and sensible portion sizes it'll work well for you.
Fullofpudding · 09/03/2023 20:59
I've lost nearly 10 stone over 2 years. I just eat sensibly and don't eat endless pasta etc.
Howdoesitworkagain · 09/03/2023 21:02
Lost it and gained it back plus some. Same with WW. Learned a lot of dysfunctional habits along the way and only now undoing all the harm.
midnightblue12 · 09/03/2023 21:04
The first time I joined I lost 1.5 stone and was the healthiest and happiest of ever been. I kept the weight off and became a lifetime member for a year or so. I fell pregnant and didn't really gain any weight until around half way.
I recently rejoined and I've lost 10 pounds in a month. Finishing it a bit more difficult this time but I have so much in my plate atm.
I've friend every diet and this works for me but just eh mindful that what works for own won't necessarily work for another.
ThoseDamnCrows · 10/03/2023 19:24
I weighed 12st in November 2021, by March 2022 I was 9st 10.
I've kept the weight off by following SW for half the week and then eat what I want the other half but I don't go to a group.
A friend of mine has maintained her weight for well over a decade but still goes to the SW group to keep herself in check.
I don't eat the infamous SW stuff like Mullerlights and pasta Mugshots, most of my meals are cooked from scratch.
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/03/2023 19:27
Started in November and have lost over 2 stone now. It's been really easy and I eat loads and feel really well. A family member lost 5 stones and has kept it off over a year now which encouraged me.
Chickoletta · 10/03/2023 19:27
Have lost 2st 4lbs. Started at 12st 7lbs and now 10st 3lbs. My target weight is 10st so very nearly there.
It works for me!
Meceme · 10/03/2023 19:31
Starting weight 14 10. Final weight 10 stone. Took me 11 months. Kept it off for over 5 years until lockdown then wine and crisps hit 😵💫
Now 13 stone and restarting. I know when I follow the rules I lose. Fruit, veg, protein, fresh foods. Don't fall for unlimited pasta and muller lites ... that's not really the point of the diet. I always feel healthier when I follow it and it works.
jannier · 10/03/2023 19:32
It's available free through your GP that's got to tell you something......2 stone
eeyoredebbie · 10/03/2023 19:38
Joined in April 2016 lost over 15 stone by September 2018, kept it off until 2021, I had some emotional issues etc and binge ate and secret eating, gained about 6 stone back
rejoined January 2022 and have lost almost
4 stone so now back to a total loss of 13.5 stone
boboshmobo · 10/03/2023 19:40
I lost 2.7 stone a few years ago and have lost 11 pounds since 1/1 .. it does really work
PumpkinTruffles · 10/03/2023 19:42
I lost over 2st on slimming world before my wedding, but was 100% committed and very very rarely went off plan. Of course I've put it all back on again though since 🙄
Thegirlwithnousername · 11/03/2023 20:11
I have lost 7 and half stone I joined in Feb 2022 so just over a year.

FatherJoseFernandez · 11/03/2023 20:21
Since October I’ve lost 20lb. Got another 7lb to go until I reach my target of 9st 7lb. I put off joining for ages as I thought I would find it too restrictive however it’s actually really easy as long as I meal plan & prep and write everything I eat down.
BlueMoonCity · 11/03/2023 20:47
Started Feb last year at 20st 12lbs, as of Thursday I'm 12st 11lbs and down 9st 1lb. My goal is 9st 12lbs 😊
