Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

I git into target last year on SW but have put on about 8 pounds . I can't go back to group due to work , family demands until March but need to get back on it !

Starting today !

PlaymobilPirate · 06/01/2019 12:34

Rejoining Monday night! Lost 2.5 stone last year, stopped going in September when my day off changed and I reckon I've put most of it back on

PlaymobilPirate · 06/01/2019 14:02

Can anyone post the healthy b porridges sachets please?

boats16 · 06/01/2019 14:23

I have the Oats so simple original sachets. I slice grapes or strawberries on top. I believe that can be taken as your HEB. I sometimes have 2 small brown toast for dinner that day in which case I count my sachet as 4 1/2 syns. Groovee will be able to tell you if thats right. I hope so for my sake lol

Groovee · 06/01/2019 15:07

I never use sachets.

Will look it up when I get less sore as just done another burlesque class and can't move. Who knew dancing could hurt so much?

I've been making SW chips in the new actifry, I do wonder if I'm eating too many chips - is that possible if they are free?

Groovee · 06/01/2019 15:19

A couple of people at my class cut back on their white potato intake and lost. Everyone is different. So you may need to cut back and see if it makes a change or was just the week before catching up on you.

Using your own porridge means you get 40g instead of 27g, and it is just as easy.

boats16 · 06/01/2019 16:01

The slimming survival from Iceland says lemon and pepper salmon potions are 4 syns. Does anyone know if this is each or per pack ?

ALemonyPea · 06/01/2019 16:36

It's only the original big bowl oats so simple are a b choice, big bowl golden syrup and the smaller sachets are not. They used to include a few flavoured smaller ones, but that's changed.

Survived not having a piece of lemon tart, hurray. Going to have a cheese and mushroom omelette for tea I think. Wishing I'd not had my B choice as could have had cheese on toast.

ALemonyPea · 06/01/2019 16:37

Re potatoes, I usually just have one medium one a day. You can get 8 decent sized wedges out of one potato in an actifry and theyre filling enough.

Groovee · 06/01/2019 16:44

@boats16 it's per fillet.

Thinking of signing up to sw online, I have done it once before and lost just over a stone but gave up when I became pregnant. My baby is now 3 weeks old and honestly I believe I weigh less now than before I was pregnant 😮 I still have around 4-5 stone to lose (haven't weighed yet will do in morning) I get married in November this year, so I have the best reasons in the world to get healthy. My partner has a few stone to lose as well so we will be doing it together. I've been umming about the cost and wondering if I can do it without signing up (maternity pay😥)
But I think it will be worth it to join and go all in

boats16 · 06/01/2019 17:13

Thanks @ groovee for that.
@ ALemonypea .So my Oats so simple 27g original sachets are ok then ?

Groovee · 06/01/2019 18:19

@boats16 just checked and it's not a HE.

OP posts:
boats16 · 06/01/2019 18:31

Thanks @Groovee I always ate those last time but I counted 41/2. Which sachets are a HEB then ? Theres so many. So youre still doing Burlesque. You were doing that when I was on last year. Is it dance ?

boats16 · 06/01/2019 18:47

Has it changed to 2 x HEA now ie we are allowed 2x350ml skimmed milk daily and 1 HEB

ALemonyPea · 06/01/2019 19:22

No the small ones are not a B choice as they're 27g. The big bowl ones are 40g, so a B choice.

You still only get one B, but new plan is 2 A.

Stargirl, is going to a group once just for the books worthwhile? That way you'll get the brief on the new plan, and you can always google syn values and ask here.

Groovee · 06/01/2019 19:23

@boats16 OST's so simple big bowl at 39g is a HE. Or the one I shared further up.

Burlesque is a fitness class. Doing the greatest showman just now. My abs are killing me from the planking in it.

OP posts:
boats16 · 06/01/2019 19:59

@ALemony pea. Does that mean 700ml of skimmed milk daily ?

ALemonyPea · 06/01/2019 21:01

You can have 2 different A choices, don't need to be the same, you could have milk and cheese if you wanted.

Groovee · 06/01/2019 21:01

Yes @boats16 or half milk half cheese.

OP posts:
shecamefromgreece · 06/01/2019 21:33

I had a skinny hazelnut latte from Starbucks which was a nice treat and free as i have double the amount of skimmed milk.

trinitybleu · 06/01/2019 22:09

Thanks @ALemonyPea she starts therapy soon so that should help, but has improved over the last couple of weeks too. Suspect not being at school has helped...

I got loads of the Oats So Simple big bowl sachets when they were £1 a box last year. For that price I could justify them for work. Still working through them but not too many to go now. Did overnight oats in the summer but prefer oats hot in the colder weather.
