Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

Lost 1.5 this week
Going to struggle not to gain for next few weeks though as got a mini break - 3 birthdays - mother’s day and a few other meals out

Studentnursesos12e · 21/03/2019 21:41

Ending on 12 syns I’ve been struggling a bit but not broke, just eaten a few apples and clementines more and used my syns. However, I’m not expecting a huge loss and will glad of 1-2lbs.

Well done on the losses x

OwlinaTree · 21/03/2019 22:44

Well done Jace and student. A good loss and a good day.

DH has been to the States and came back with the most enormous bag of Reece's cups and a box of twinkies! I'm rationing them out!

OwlinaTree · 23/03/2019 08:25

Morning all, I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Had a takeaway last night, haven't had one for ages. Had duck pancakes as usual but instead of chicken sweet and sour and chips which I usually have, I had chicken and spring onions and ginger and cooked some rice at home, so I feel like that was quite a good compromise!

Not much on this weekend, one of the kids has a party tomorrow, but that's it really.

Elephantina · 23/03/2019 11:16

Another 1lb off for me this week, that's 4.5lbs in 3 weeks. A bit slow really, but I'm eating shitloads so...I'll take that!

Currently resisting the germinating idea of having a mini "off-plan" moment this afternoon when home alone. The freddos are calling me.

OrianaBanana · 23/03/2019 11:35

Well done losers! I’ve just been to a different group (where weigh in was sloooowww as the lady was very chatty with everyone) and stayed the same.

I’ve come to Costa with the kids after weighing as I have them on my own this weekend, and there’s a group from there now bitching about all the volunteers and there seems to be huge amounts of politics going on among the social team Confused

OrianaBanana · 23/03/2019 11:37

Maybe one of you is there! Grin

Groovee · 23/03/2019 14:39

Oh dear @OrianaBanana

Well done @Elephantina

I was out for dinner last night. Will end up being a gain for me I am sure x

2.5lbs off. Was hoping for more as I haven't been too well and haven't had much appetite. But still in the right direction!

strangerthongs · 24/03/2019 08:12

PS anyone buy that pinch of nom book? I found it really disappointing. I can't see myself making the majority of these recipes to be honest. Lots of faff. I am doing well just buying things and cooking normal things. I was looking for fakeaway recipes mainly but was a bit disappointed by what was on offer. Plus no syns.

OwlinaTree · 24/03/2019 08:47

Well done stranger.

Groovee · 24/03/2019 13:08

Sainsbury's Wholemeal muffins are a HEB choice... so had a quorn patty, fried egg, bacon and cheese on one this morning.

Looks lush!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 25/03/2019 16:41

I had the same (minus the bacon) last week Groove. Tesco do a pork and herb patties 2.5 syns that are suppose to taste very similar to McDonalds ones.

Groovee · 25/03/2019 20:00

It was @OwlinaTree. Will look into those @FiveNightsAtMummys. I only had the bacon as dh was cooking some at the same time x

Maintain for me tonight. I had been on the plan, but had 13-15 syns most days and had 2 b choices by accident twice. Also had one off plan sandwich. Just shows I don’t have the luxury of flexibility or using all my syns and need to follow it strictly every day. My flat mate had a 1lb gain, so we’ve decided to do a high speed/SP week this week. Batch cooked a veggie/bean chilli which will do a lot of meals (with BNS chips or leaves on the side). Planning brunch to be a sandwich or toastie using my a&b choice. This week I ate cereal every day which I don’t think works for me. So here’s to a week of SP, 10 syns max a day and no overdosing on healthy extras. I’m aiming very high at a 6lb loss and hoping that results in a loss. Also going to stop eating for the day every day around 1930. Fingers crossed ✌️

Popfan · 25/03/2019 22:11

Just a 1lb loss for me this week. Stuck totally on plan with barely any syns so not sure why it wasn't more. Does anyone think there's any truth in your body hanging into weight if you don't eat any of the syn type foods?

HettyPain · 26/03/2019 07:41

1.5 on this week. Not good. Fell off the wagon but am now back on it.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 26/03/2019 09:36

Popfan I tried a week of high syns (at least 10 a day) and a week of hardly any syns and I didn't get a better loss from less syns I think they were the same or very close

Groovee · 26/03/2019 12:39

Weigh in tonight will 🤞🏻 be my diamond award.
