Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

Welcome back @boats16

Thanks @Yearofthemum

Well done on the run and forward planning @Woopwoop1

@shecamefromgreece That sounds lovely.

I made slimming world burgers on the grill. Then popped them in the oven with cheese and bacon on top. Popped it on top of a lettuce leave and topped with onion and tomato. Then salad and chips. So yummy. Then as I had a HEB, I made slimming eats American pancakes. Nothing will beat a true pancake but this was so tasty. I feel like I have had a treat.

Can I still have 2 small wholemeal toast as HEB and count my 27g sachet of porridge as 4 1/2 syns. I used to do that but in reading your posts I gather things have changed

Groovee · 05/01/2019 20:41

Just checked your porridge is still 4.5 syns x

I could never make the pancakes, they either burnt really quickly or were too chewy.

Have had a great day today, feeling much better.

Lemon and blueberry baked oat muffins for breakfast
Ham and cheese salad, packet of pufts for lunch
Jacket potat with beans and cheese, side salad for tea

7 syns in total

Could have had a bad day as got my next operation date today, it's the end of the month which is sooner than I'd anticipated. I can lose a stone in 4 weeks right 😂

Groovee · 05/01/2019 21:59

Its taken me 39 years to learn to make normal pancakes😂

Eek at your surgery date. Sure you could lose a stone if you put your mind to it.

Can anyone tell me what ' baked beans aren't P ' means ? What is P. Is it new ?

noodlenosefraggle · 05/01/2019 22:46

P means protein. If you were doing SP days, which is a low carb version of SW you should be filling your plate half with S foods so speed fruit and veg and half with protein. You used to be able to count baked beans and peas I think as protein. Now you can't. If you aren't doing SP it doesn't really matter as they are still free.

noodlenosefraggle · 05/01/2019 22:53

groovee my DS looked over my shoulder while I was looking at your picture. He said that they were of 2 different people and you must be tricking people to get them to go to Slimming world Grin

boats16 · 05/01/2019 23:04

You can lose a stone@ ALemonypea !!!!! No problem. I remember you from before.. Sorry to hear youve been ill

MissCherryCakeyBun · 05/01/2019 23:05

Hi all, I'm going to join class on Thursday but want to get a food diary in book form...do any of you have these and which would you recommend. I've not done SW for 5 years and understand there have been quite a few changes but I do know that the food diary helps me and a book version would be fab. There are loads on eBay and Amazon to choose from but personal recommendations are great

noodlenosefraggle · 05/01/2019 23:13

I like the bodyplan one. It has exercises in it too, but it's the only one I've seen too be fair.

boats16 · 05/01/2019 23:13

Thanks for that @ noodlenose

MissCherryCakeyBun · 05/01/2019 23:33

Thanks will take a look

Mymadworld · 05/01/2019 23:44

I made my own sheets and just print off each week and stick it to the fridge Smile

Mymadworld · 05/01/2019 23:46

Those pancakes look lovely - try grating an apple in the mix next time it makes them go further and you feel very virtuous - my kids love them Smile

trinitybleu · 06/01/2019 00:02

I'm back again. Lost 2.5st last year and then my dad died and DD had some MH issues. Think I've regained it all.

Rejoining on Monday. Week is planned and I'm ready to go!

FiveNightsAtMummys · 06/01/2019 01:04

Been off plan for tea tonight. Dh and dcs wanted a take away. I ordered salad (it's delicious from our take away) and shared a thin crust small mushroom pizza with dc. I had 2 slices, then a slice of dhs kebab pizza...then another and then half a slice of garlic bread. So not as good as I could of been but I guess not terrible.l (I could of eaten all the pizza tonight and fries) My syns today (not inc pizza was 13.5), I didn't have lunch so I'm hoping it'll not be so bad. Will be back at 100% now.

Do others have regular off plan meals? I didn't for first 3/ 4 weeks then I'd have 1 meal a week maybe and still managed to loose, usually I'd reduce my syns for a day or 2 to allow this. Trying to think of it as a long term eating habit rather than a diet. Im not gonna never have take always again, I also dont want to go back to old eating habits as soon as I hit target so finding a balance that's right for me.

Groovee · 06/01/2019 04:26

@noodlenosefraggle 😂 if only. Facebook memories give me a huge shock these days x

OP posts:
Groovee · 06/01/2019 04:27

@MissCherryCakeyBun Dd got me one when I first started which was fab. It had a column for free, speed, syns and it was per meal.

I'd love a princess planning one but I'm not mean to buy one.

ALemonyPea · 06/01/2019 08:38

You can buy SW journals at group for £4.99

Welcome back Trinity, sorry to hear about your dad, and hope your DD is recovering well.

Going to my mam's for Sunday dinner today, she's made a lemon tart which I must resist. She is the queen of puds.

I tend to stick to plan as cheat meals usually lead to cheat days for me. I put on weight very quickly (have PCOS) so there is no point in cheating as goes on straight away. That's not to say I don't slip up once in a while, I am only human.

boats16 · 06/01/2019 10:07

I don't go to a class ( I didn't last time ) I follow it myself at home with the help of mags etc. When you know the basics it's up to you. I read the mags and chat on here. People are very helpful. Me and my friend have booked another holiday for June so I have my inspiration now 😎😎😎

WineNotTea · 06/01/2019 10:19

I’ve just ordered an A5 journal from Amazon, it’s a ring binder and covers 11 weeks. I’ve had one before and think that it’s much better than the SW one. I chose the one with Llamas on the front cover Grin

strangerthongs · 06/01/2019 11:25

stayed the same this week. I'm a bit gutted as I tried v hard this week whereas the week before I lost 3lbs despite several xmas dinners! V strange :(

Groovee · 06/01/2019 11:27

Sure you will lose next week. Don't be disheartened as over 2 weeks 3lb loss is good.

OP posts:
boats16 · 06/01/2019 12:03

Don't worry strangerthongs it will probably come off next week. Keep up the good work 👍👍
