Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

Welcome @Popfan

Good day here, went to nandos and only used 2 syns!

Eaten 2 million tangerines. WI tomorrow and I'm nervous as hell. My flatmate is going to join though, and it will be good to have some healthy competition to stay on plan.

Popfan · 10/03/2019 22:10

Thanks for the welcome!

OwlinaTree · 10/03/2019 22:37

Welcome popfan. Had a good day today food wise.

B omlette with mushroom, tomatoes, ham, cheese
L half a jacket spud with ham and salad
D chili and rice
S pear, alpen bar and natural yoghurt, 1 hifi bar.

DH went to USA this am, so on my own with the kids till next Monday. Going to try eating with them every evening which will cut out the snack I usually have while they eat if I'm eating later. Might make a difference!

inashizzle · 11/03/2019 13:20

Hey all! Can I join please?

Did really well 4 years ago, lost 2 stone but stopped going as too many people said I didn't need to loose any more as it wouldn't suit me loosing too much... and I foolishly believed them, well intended as it was, I had reached 12.5 stone which was just in the ok weight for my height ,5'9 and not my original plan of 11.7.

After a couple of hashed attempts to rejoin, I'm back on it, rejoined Wednesday 13th February at 14 st 6.5 , have missed one week due to illness but have lost 10lb , and already feel bit more sprightly. 1st target to 11.13, and then i will reset to 11.6.

Done most of this from memory, need to properly look at books as H.E always bit vague to me. Need to start measuring them! I was never clear with the Sp plan rules either. I get that its speed but can never remember what I'm not allowed.

edgen2019 · 11/03/2019 16:41

Popfan - My SW Consultant discourages us from weighing ourselves at home, reason being they rarely tally with the SW scales! Thought I would mention this before you purchase.

Popfan · 11/03/2019 17:16

Hi @edgen many thanks for that - I'm not doing the sw version where you go to the meetings, just following online.
I could really do with some easy meal ideas for all the family including me or ones I can adapt easily for me to eat. I don't want to cook twice!

Studentnursesos12e · 11/03/2019 18:17

First WI back and I lost 4.5lbs 😀 so happy, plus its star week, so feel like it was maybe a bit more. Going for my half stone next week.

OwlinaTree · 11/03/2019 20:06

Well done student that's brilliant!

OwlinaTree · 11/03/2019 22:34

Hoping for a good weigh in tomorrow. Expect for a slice of birthday cake on Saturday I've been properly on plan and drinking loads of water. Going to go for the early weigh in with the kids, but hoping for a loss. Need 1.5lb to get back to target, that would be fab!!

NSV - put a shirt on for work this morning and it was much too big! Had to choose something else!

OwlinaTree · 11/03/2019 22:35

That should be skirt!

Studentnursesos12e · 11/03/2019 23:41

Thanku x @Owlina

I just went to a comedy night and just drank diet coke (except one sip of stout) thats a NSV for me right there 😂

Groovee · 12/03/2019 06:27

Half a pound on. Kinda expected as my stomachs been bad this week. Still stuck to plan so hope it comes off next week.

JaceLancs · 12/03/2019 20:08

Anyone know how accurate the scales are at your group?
I went to weigh tonight very confident I would’ve lost something as I’ve been really on plan all week - at first scales showed I’d lost 1.5 but then crept up to same weight as last week!
I was so gutted that consultant offered to clear it and weigh me again - where I gained 0.5 lb!!!
I’ve not had a great day as been in hospital for minor surgery and dragged myself to SW as I thought a loss might cheer me up!
Now back home and drinking 2-3 days worth of syns in vodka
Back on it tomorrow!!!!

Groovee · 12/03/2019 20:14

They are regularly calibrated @JaceLancs don't be too tough on yourself. X

Studentnursesos12e · 12/03/2019 21:07

@JaceLancs
Don't beat yourself up, next week you'll probably get a really good loss xx
Finishing on 13.5 syns today. Me and my flatmate have got a bit competitive so feeling really motivated.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 12/03/2019 21:38

I've thought similar Jace, everyone lost more than expected last week and quite a few gain half a pound this week. I weigh on my own scales and there always 2lb diff so I know the scales are right at my group.

OwlinaTree · 12/03/2019 22:35

Half a pound off for me. Better than nothing but disappointed too as been on plan except a piece of cake!

Going out Saturday night now so no chance next week!

Studentnursesos12e · 13/03/2019 22:07

Well today I figured out how to make syn free egg free mini omelettes, I've been jel of everyone eating them but allergic. They were actually decent too.

Finishing on 12-13 syns. This week I've noticed I'm using more of my syns, but it's what's needed to keep me on track. I really want 2.5 lbs off though to get my half stone at WI so going to try keep the syns below 10 and the speed high (expect Friday when we will be out for st pats).

Does anyone know the weight categories for extra syns? My flatmate that started Monday is struggling to stick to 15 syns (she's not going badly over 15.5 and 17) but I think she should maybe be entitled to extra, as she was the first time she did SW. Her starting weight is 17s10. She's doing fab though and my other flatmate felt left out so is doing it too Grin so we are all helping each other to muddle through.

Studentnursesos12e · 13/03/2019 22:14

L- eggless mini omelettes and quorn ham roll (b)
D- veggie sausages(1.5) mushrooms baby corn and mangetout

S- starburst(9) alpro greek style (1.5) apple oranges pepsi max diet coke

OwlinaTree · 13/03/2019 22:37

I've had a good day
B overnight oats
L chicken salad
S fruit, yoghurt, shredded
D Morrisons fishcakes with salad
S yoghurt, freddo.

Almost an sp day!
