Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

Sorry you're feeling down Jace, hope the scales are kind to you next week 💐

HazelnutRaspberryRoulade · 13/02/2019 13:53

@jacelancs don’t worry, 1lb is totally manageable, you’ll have it back down next week!

@lemony hope the funeral goes as well as can be today.

1lb on for me too this week, but I can’t complain, had plenty of treats over the weekend so I know why it’s happened.

Feelingfullandreadytoclean · 13/02/2019 14:02

Hi all,

So here is my confession. I have been doing slimming world since April 2018. I had 1 stone 5 lbs to loose. I was 2 lb away from target and fucked it.

So I am still going and struggling on.

I am self sabotaging. Its like I am to scared to feel good.
I got lots of compliments after loosing weight in the summer. It actually made me cry as I felt so overwhelmed and felt so pressued to be a certain way.

I want to be slim and healthy. The plan is easy and works when I stick with it but I just don't let myself.

Anyone else have this problem?

Weigh in tonight, but I couldn't go last week and I am sure I had put on so not sure how tonight will be but I am going and I have had a good week so fingers crossed I am no bigger then I was 2 weeks ago.

Well done to you all. Sounds like you are doing well.

boats16 · 13/02/2019 21:42

Hi Feelingfull I can totally relate. For instance, Ive just eaten a full bar of caramel tonite . . . . . . oops! Blush

OwlinaTree · 13/02/2019 23:02

Hi all. Sorry you've gained Jace, it's so hard when you've really put that effort in to get a gain. I hope it will be a very good loss for you next week.

Having a difficult week here. Long working days with parent's evenings, my little girl doesn't seem well either. I'm sticking to plan but didn't get to weigh in this week as DH was working late on Tuesday. For the first time in a long time I opened the biscuit tin at work! Fortunately (for my weight loss) it was empty, but I can tell I'm getting tired when that happens. FX I'll stick with it this week, two more get ups until half term!

OrianaBanana · 14/02/2019 09:01

Lemony Flowers

Jace maybe it was a hangover from the previous week? Keep at it, then this week’s weigh in will be great!

feelingfull I could have written this about last time I was at SW. This time I have good reasons to stick to plan but still try and eat everything I want. I was given a good talking to at group and came home full of motivation - and today DH has bought me Ferraro rocher and is taking me out for brunch, then my son has been promised takeaway pizza tonight if he gets a good school report. I am trying the visualising techniques they told me about at class, and imagining me eating SW chips and a SW ready meal virtuously!

+0.5 this week which could have been worse. Really going to try this week!

ALemonyPea · 14/02/2019 13:32

Welcome FeelingFull, and good luck. I'm a fellow target member who fell off the wagon and needs to get back to where I was.

Funeral was ok yesterday, mthank you for thinking of me.

Lost half a lb, probably would have been more if I'd not had wine. Avoided the buffet though, so every cloud and all that.

WillowUfgood · 14/02/2019 14:10

Had a really crappy couple of weeks, put about half a stone back on Angry don't know how or why as I've not strayed from plan. I think it's water (mostly). Anyway, 3.5 off this week! So I'm feeling a bit better.

One change I did make was to my second A choice. Instead of cheese, I've started having 200ml oat milk. The extra dairy was making me constipated and bloated, so I'm hoping that's made a little difference. I've only done it the last 2 days so will carry on for next weigh in and see if it really has worked!

boats16 · 14/02/2019 17:17

Well done @ Lemony and @Willow Smile

OwlinaTree · 14/02/2019 20:09

Well done lemony, glad the funeral was ok.

Well done willow that's amazing!

My DH has bought me lovely chocs for valentine's Day! I'll have to ration them. Would you syn about 2.5 each for chocs out of a box?

FiveNightsAtMummys · 14/02/2019 21:55

Owl I have some lily o'briens and there 3.5 syns each!! I based it on 1 syn per 20kcal. Had 7 (24.5 syns) and a takeaway tonight. Totally off plan. Back on it tomorrow. I have walked almost 10 miles today to try and counteract some of the take away.

Imperfectsusan · 14/02/2019 21:58

Willow, if you need any extra help with fibre, I find that Tesco fibre bran or All Bran original (which looks like the same thing) is brilliant. It has more fibre than anything else I've found. I looked hard too, as I used to get quite constipated on SW before I found it .

Sorry for bringing down the tone of the thread!

No weigh in for me this week or next, as I have out of town engagements two weeks in a row.

Imperfectsusan · 14/02/2019 22:02

Fivenights, ten miles! That's amazing! I'm deeply envious.

OwlinaTree · 14/02/2019 22:09

Yeah, I looked at the cals, think 3.5 is more accurate. They are lush!

ALemonyPea · 15/02/2019 10:38

Well done Willow.

Found these bad boys in Tesco, 5.5 syns each. That's my pudding for Sunday sorted. Will make DH eat one as well so I just have one.

Well done lemony and willow!

@lemony I’ve had those toffee meringues before and they’re delicious, really worth it, hope you enjoy them!

What would people recommend for veggie sausages? I’ve heard good things about linda McCartney ones, are they lowish syn?

ALemonyPea · 15/02/2019 13:42

The Linda McCartney red onion ones are free and very nice.

If you want a nice pork sausage, Asda light and lean sausages are only half a syn each and lovely.

AlliKaneErikson · 15/02/2019 19:32

I fancy trying the red onion ones- they sound lovely.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 15/02/2019 19:38

Imperfectsusan - my feet and legs hurt so much it's rediculas. Hoping to rest this weekend.

I second the Linda McCartney red onion, I do find them a bit dry so have tinned tomatoes with them. They make good scotch eggs too.

HazelnutRaspberryRoulade · 15/02/2019 19:50

Brill, thanks for the recommendation, I think I’ll have to give the red onion ones a go! We tend to do meat free Monday and I think this’ll be on the menu next week.

Imperfectsusan · 15/02/2019 23:15

I second Linda M red onion and rosemary -even teenagers like them!

Five-your poor legs.

If you look up the calories burned for your weight per average walking mile, you will be mighty impressed that you probably achieved your objective!

OwlinaTree · 15/02/2019 23:25

Those meringues look lush!
