Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

Ive had 2 Weetabix for brekkie ( HEB) but also 300g covent garden veg soup for dinner. I normally have that as my HEB. Anyone know how many syns it is, or would it be better to count WB as syns ?????? Confused

Groovee · 06/02/2019 14:29

@boats16 soup isn't a HEB anymore. So you'll need to syn it.

Saw Two chubby cubs too. Their lentil Dahl is amazing and their Mongolian Beef.

Anyone know how many syns 300g covent garden veg is ? Ive always had it as a HEB so I dont know the syns and cant find it on the net. Is no soup HEB now ?

OrianaBanana · 06/02/2019 18:49

It seems to be 2.5 syns if it’s the chilled plain veg soup one.

1lb off for me tonight which I’m happy with (it went on last week..)

Groovee · 06/02/2019 20:20

Well done @OrianaBanana

@boats16 soups were removed as B choices when all the other changes happened.

Thanks Oriana and Groovee . Thats a big change for me. I relied on my covent soups for dinner last time ( and used it as a HEB). Mind you Ive started with Weetabix so that will do.
Congratulations on your loss Oriana Smile

Groovee · 06/02/2019 21:17

I'd recommend mixing up your B choices. My favourite just now is pancakes made from porridge oats or baked oats x

Thanks boats and Groovee Grin

Boats could you make a big pot of free soup (speed or otherwise) and freeze some so you can use it for a quick meal? You could have a wholemeal roll or crispbread with it, or have a couple of cereal bars for your HExB throughout the day, or a snack of nuts... I am really loving pine nuts at the moment.

boats16 · 06/02/2019 21:59

Thanks Oriana , Thats a good idea. I have granola, which is nice but you dont get much so I heaps of fruit. I also have brown toast . Cashews are my favourite nut but once I start eating them I cant stop lol

Imperfectsusan · 06/02/2019 22:45

I really like Two CC to I'll try and see that, so thanks. I'll try the Dahl too. I love Dahl.

1.5 off for me. God knows how.

AlliKaneErikson · 06/02/2019 23:30

Hi all- am jumping in a bit here and have no clue what I’m doing as of yet. Have just made the decision to start Slimming World but haven’t officially ‘joined’ yet. I’m going to have a read through the thread for some inspiration. Hope it’s going well for everyone and hope it’ll help me lose a bit of weight and feel healthier!

Groovee · 07/02/2019 05:58

Welcome @AlliKaneErikson

Boats, New York bagel seeded thins are a B choice, and utterly lovely. They're hard to get hold of, but worth it.

boats16 · 07/02/2019 08:51

@ Imperfectsusan well done Smile
@AliKaneErikson welcome
@ ALemony thanks Smile
My weigh day tomorrow, it comes round so quick Shock Smile

boats16 · 07/02/2019 09:45

I thought we were allowed 30g full fat cheese but on the new Iceland 2019 SW survival page it says 2 x 18g edam slices for a HEA choice ?

OrianaBanana · 07/02/2019 11:33

Depends on the cheese boats. Apparently you can have 35g Edam

Groovee · 07/02/2019 13:25

It depends on the type of cheese.

ALemonyPea · 07/02/2019 13:30

1lb off for me, pleased with that.

boats16 · 07/02/2019 13:52

Well done @ ALemony Grin Grin Grin
I think the slices are 20 or 25g (new packaging ) . Ill just cut a bit off lol. I like cheese on toast for a quick snack. There are some good things come out of this change , I do love cheese .

emwithme · 07/02/2019 14:41

1.5 lbs off this week, so just 13 lbs to get to pre-pregnancy weight and 1 stone 2 lbs to get back to my lightest ever which I'm really pleased with for 10 weeks. Bought a countdown at group today to get the free book - not that I have time to cook these days, but one day!

boats16 · 07/02/2019 16:02

Well done emwithme Smile Smile

AlliKaneErikson · 07/02/2019 20:09

Thanks all! Day one going quite well but have been at home I’ll with way too many temptations- I resisted, though.

Groovee · 07/02/2019 20:38

Well done @ALemonyPea and @emwithme

Having a pot luck night with the lovely ladies from my group tomorrow. Curry loaf and meringue nests all set x

Well done losers!

HazelnutRaspberryRoulade · 08/02/2019 08:44

Well done all the losers!

I’m on my totm and just could not help but cram chocolate in my mouth yesterday. It was like a physical need. Made my husband join in too Grin

Feels like it’s out of my system today and I’ve made a big tuna pasta salad to fill me up all afternoon.

Visiting my parents this weekend so I know there’ll be some special meals and treats but I’ll just focus on good choices wherever I can.
