Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

No they're fresh burgers, in the chiller section Boats. They're lovely and make great meatballs as well.

boats16 · 02/02/2019 14:35

Found them, just 2 in the packet. Theyre quite thick for 2 syns each. Smile My partner (is that DS ? ) has just taken me to Morrisons to have a look. ( He just wants to keep me quiet ) lol Grin Grin

Hi all. Don’t know if anyone remembers me but was on the support threads a year or 2 ago.

Just wanted to say emwithme congratulations. I am so glad to hear to have a little one now. Such great news.

Good seeing some other familiar names.

I seem to have a pattern of a really successful jan/feb and then a slow decline into summer when all bets are off and all weight goes back on!

I’m not officially doing SW at the moment but cooking the SW way and being really mindful of synned stuff even though I’m not strictly counting them.

Have lost 7lbs since 6th Jan so must be doing something right! No booze, no takeaways, have eaten out twice, once chose healthy option and once chose to treat myself (but one course only). I know it will get harder and I’ll have to knuckle down so just joining back in here for inspiration and support!

Welcome back basin, that was about the same time I was here last! x

strangerthongs · 03/02/2019 09:03

I've put 1lb on and I'm f*cking depressed. It means I haven't lost any weight at all in a month. I keep losing and gaining the same amount.

It's been a really busy month, with late night workings and it's affected my eating and my exercise class attendance.

I'm getting my coil out tomorrow so don't know whether that will have any impact on my weight. I hope so. I am so very close to that 3 stone weight loss mark and I have a special event in March I really want to lose some more weight for.

I'm just feeling so low and demotivated today. I need some words of encouragement and ideas for managing long work days, lots of travelling and the temptation to snack.

:(

OwlinaTree · 03/02/2019 10:35

That really sucks stranger. I'm sure the working away doesn't help, routine always helps me stick to plan.

What options do you have when you work late? Could you take a more substantial lunch on those days to help you keep going and not snack, or take two smaller lunches to spread over the day?

boats16 · 03/02/2019 10:50

I know that feeling Stranger .I always feel depressed when I put on too. I even feel depressed when I stay the same ! Im sure the month youve had has been the reason. Could you not do some exercise at home when you cant attend the class ? only mild as youre probobly tired working long hours. You need some good snacks .3 stone weight loss ?????? Im in awe of you...total respect. keep up the good work and dont let it get you down Flowers Smile

HazelnutRaspberryRoulade · 03/02/2019 10:50

Sorry you’re feeling low @stranger, it’s so hard when you feel like you’re at a standstill. Do you have time to look up some new recipes and find some meals or snacks that you really like the look of? I find I’m much more likely to stay on plan if I’m really looking forward to my food and trying new things.

For long days, maybe you could make a big frittata with lots of delicious veg and ham and a few hex As and then you something filling and instant to eat for a few days?

Groovee · 03/02/2019 10:55

Are you drinking lots of water @strangerthongs? I find that can have an effect on my losses when trying to lose. I struggle at work to drink as it's so full on, so try to have lots before work and then drink all evening.

I'd try some new recipes too. I find changing syns and healthy extras about helps too.

Got my 3rd cold sore on my top lip. I feel so run down and my fibromyalgia is really flaring. I only have this week to get through at work then I have a week off. Hoping that will help x

strangerthongs · 03/02/2019 11:07

I drink a lot but mainly teas and diet drinks....not really water. Not sure if water makes a difference. (I use my HEa on milk as I hate cheese) and I use HEb on bread or wheetabix.

I think I'm so hungry in the evenings because I'm eating late, that I'm not thinking about what I'm eating, so yes, I need to plan to take a bigger packed lunch or something and think about what I'm eating.

Monday should hopefully be the last late night day, and hours back to normal thereafter.

I'm going to also try to increase the number of exercise classes I do and find another one to do on the days I'm home late. It's just been rotten luck that my favourite ones have been on those late nights.

FiveNightsAtMummys · 03/02/2019 17:00

Keep going stranger. I don't drink much water and it hasn't affected my loss personally. I'm a tea drinker more than anything.
Could you try changing your healthy b? A sw friend always insists she doesn't loose if she uses her heb on bread. Or maybe even splitting your healthy B? This really helps me..for example I'll have 1 Weetabix with a banana for breakfast then I'll have a chocolate alpen light in the evening after tea for a sweet fix (then I use less syns on an evening). On your day off could you batch cook a few meals and freeze them in the little silver trays, I do this and it massivly helps when I'm tired and hungry and low on time.

Groovee · 03/02/2019 18:39

I find too many fizzy drinks make me bloated. Think that was the reason for my 2 gain weeks.

I tend to drink liquorice and peppermint tea or green tea or diluting juice.

Made oxo roasties. They were tasty. Think they needed longer though.

Ah Stranger, sorry you're having a tough time. Maybe up your protein in your lunch, will help keep you fuller longer.

boats16 · 04/02/2019 11:11

Are heck sausages 0.5 syns for 1 or 2 ( spring chicken ). Diff places say different things

FiveNightsAtMummys · 04/02/2019 12:19

The app says 0.5 per 2

boats16 · 04/02/2019 13:20

Yes , I read that but I've also seen 0.5 each 😮😮😮

FiveNightsAtMummys · 04/02/2019 15:19
