Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

Ahh thank you so much @lemony, in the end the only one they had on the menu was the glass noodle chicken one so that’s what I had - it was tasty but I think the steak salad is much better for fewer syns. Still good to know th options! (Currently at the theatre having interval ice cream so not sure this counts as an on plan day...)

boats16 · 16/01/2019 21:58

Well done YearoftheMum Flowers

ALemonyPea · 17/01/2019 10:10

2.5lb off this week, and SOW. Really please with that.

boats16 · 17/01/2019 12:07

Well done ALemony Smile does anyone know know the syn value of the light doughnuts free with 3 Iceland meals ?

Groovee · 17/01/2019 12:41

Well done @ALemonyPea

@boats16 1 syn I think may be one and a half

Thanks @ Groovee Worth 1 1/2 syns for a doughnut I think. If theyre nice that is

Groovee · 17/01/2019 16:21

The raspberry doughnut one is nice if you mix it with an options sachet (salted caramel is my fav) then popped in little moulds (unicorn ones from B&M) then frozen. They are a fab wee sweet treat for 3 syns and I can get quite a lot (I have 4 sets of moulds Blush)

Definitely 1.5 syns for the doughnut one

Has anyone tried Jack fruit? I'm tempted to try it. Making the burrito bowl recipe in the latest magazine but with chicken

Has anyone watched "The Truth About Sugar" on BBC? It's on the iPlayer! A definite eye opener 😲😲

FiveNightsAtMummys · 17/01/2019 19:34

Been so full from meals this week, always worries me surely you can't be full and loose weight
Sat waiting for it to settle as I've not had any healthy extras tofay so going to have them and the donut Muller, the raspberry is 1.5 but vanilla custard is just 1. I'll have it with strawberries and I mini mergine for 1 syn.

I found both doughnut yogurts really sucky

Mymadworld · 17/01/2019 21:47

Sickly even Grin

OwlinaTree · 17/01/2019 22:41

groovee I sympathize. If I'd realised they were going to stop making them I would have stocked up!

Groovee · 18/01/2019 06:19

Me too @OwlinaTree wasn't until a stand in consultant told us that we knew and by then they were sold out. And now the millionaire shortbread has been delayed as they feel they don't have enough.

OP posts:
OwlinaTree · 18/01/2019 07:09

I'm looking forward to trying millionaire shortbread flavour!

Heading for the weekend now, should be able to stay on plan as not much planned at the mo. Burger and SW chips for tea tonight, yum yum.

boats16 · 18/01/2019 08:05

1lb off for me today. I find it hard going just 1lb at a time. Why can I not take it off quicker. Sometimes I feel I put in a lot of effort for so little a reward ! Does anyone else feel like that Confused

noodlenosefraggle · 18/01/2019 08:20

Yes me! Put on 3lb over Christmas, lost 1/2the first week back and 1lb this week. Its really disheartening. I've tried really hard and am not even back to my pre Christmas weight. I did a countdown last time and a message came up to say I was less than a stone from target and I wouldn't get a refund. I'm at the end next week and I'm just as far away as I was then Sad

boats16 · 18/01/2019 08:38

Well done on your loss noodlenose but I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets disheartened.Sad

noodlenosefraggle · 18/01/2019 08:47

Thanks boats and we'll done to you too. Slow and steady wins the race, as they say (hopefully Grin)

noodlenosefraggle · 18/01/2019 08:48

Gaah that stray apostrophe is annoying me no end!!

shecamefromgreece · 18/01/2019 09:26

Well done boats and noodlenose.
I'm looking forward to trying millionaire shortbread hifis too.
I lost 1.5lbs on weds so that's 7.5lbs in two weeks which I'm pleased with.
Dh told me a couple of days ago that we've got a black tie do to go to next Saturday which has sent my anxiety through the roofSad
I hate things like that it's a massive do, I feel fat and like I look like crap and I've got to get out of my leggings and big jumpers and in to a posh frock!
So I'm trying to be positive not doing well on this and I'm going to book my self in for some stuff I've been meaning to get done so nails, waxing, eyebrows and maybe a spray tan if I can face getting naked in front of a stranger....
Hope everyone's having a good morningSmile

boats16 · 18/01/2019 09:35

Well done to you for Wed shecamefromgreece. Why did you not say ?
