Starting the 2019 support thread for those on SW or those thinking of starting.

Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Groovee. In 2016 I was told to lose weight so I could have Gynae surgery. I joined SW in Jan 2017. Have lost 4.5st on SW 5.5st since 2016. Have been at target for 9 months now. Long may it continue being at target and staying there.

Have my new members pack and look forward to the challenges of 2019. I need to look for some new recipes.

Eat even, not say.

boats16 · 11/01/2019 20:05

I had salmon fillet in lemon and blacked pepper (4 syns ) , SW chips, sliced hard boiled egg and cucumber, tomato and red onion all diced in a big salad. It was yummy. Worth 4 syns.

Woopwoop1 · 11/01/2019 20:13

Groovee

How did you make your risotto? It looks lovely.

Groovee · 11/01/2019 21:03

I use the SW quick vegetable risotto recipe for rice and stock amounts. Fry up some chicken with Cajun spice, add mushrooms, then I add risotto rice and mixed herbs then veg stock. And I use the Asda smart price veg with carrot, broccoli and cauliflower with pea. Pour half the stock over then cook for about 10 mins til the stock is absorbed. Then add the rest of the stock until it's absorbed. Then serve with HEA cheese on top.

Thanks everyone. I’m still so confused as I would usually have lost. But I’ll stick at it. I took my own syn free meal to a family event last night!! I am determined to lose another half stone (and this bloody gain) at least this year.

boats16 · 12/01/2019 10:02

I heard fresh noodles arent free but which packets are best/lowest.To add to a meal, not for a snack

Groovee · 12/01/2019 10:21

I use blue dragon wholewheat noodles.

Are microwave pure basmati 2 syns per pouch ?

strangerthongs · 12/01/2019 11:01

hang on, I thought all dried noodles were free? not that I eat noodles often.

WI is tomorrow, I am scared I will STS for another week :(

FiveNightsAtMummys · 12/01/2019 11:47

Groove I don't always use my HEB but if I do it's either weetabix, ww wrap, pitta, alpen lights, kingsmil thins, ryvita dark rye, ryvita dark rye fruity one whatever it's called or wholemeal bread. Some people on my local fb group use tinned fruit as there's. Obv I only get one, today I've had 2 slices wm kingsmil crustless so I still have 1 left for later.

boats16 · 12/01/2019 11:47

@ ALemony.I just remembered the chart you sent on rice thanksSmile

FiveNightsAtMummys · 12/01/2019 11:49

Groovee · 12/01/2019 12:01

Regarding noodles, your dried egg noodles, rice noodles are free but super noodles etc are now synned.

I always have my b choice as I need lots of fibre.

OP posts:
strangerthongs · 12/01/2019 12:07

strangerthongs · 12/01/2019 12:32

great, I had a panic there!

I need more actifry recipes. The ones I've found so far are mostly not my kind of thing. Does anyone have any? The chips are great though

boats16 · 12/01/2019 12:36

It was Tilda @ FiveNights but ALemony had sent me a list earlier in this thread. Is it right that fresh egg/rice noodles have a low syn ? out of the veg aisle

Groovee · 12/01/2019 12:55

The slimming eats blog does actify recipes like stir fries etc.

strangerthongs · 12/01/2019 13:57

I saw the slimming eats blog but I think she's Canadian so can her ingredients be sourced here?

Groovee · 12/01/2019 14:07

Yes as she started SW in the UK as she's English.

OP posts:
ALemonyPea · 12/01/2019 16:59

Boats, fresh egg noodles from the veg aisle are 1syn per 100g.

The Amoy straight to wok noodles used to be free, but now also have a syn.

nocool I often have this after I've been off plan, after a holiday or something. The first week weigh in won't be too bad, but the second week weigh in after I've followed the plan for a week will be a gain/sts. Very disheartening. I think my body just has a two week delay or something! Third weigh in will normally show a difference. Hormones won't help either.

Stay on plan, hopefully you'll have a really good loss next weigh in.

Windiepanda2018 · 12/01/2019 17:44

Does everyone have a cheat day after weigh day? Or just a cheat meal 😂🙈 4.5lbs off but I'm hankering for some treats haha

Groovee · 12/01/2019 17:50

I occasionally have a few extra syns on Weigh day but never a cheat meal. I never feel the need to.
