I lost 6.5lb this week so I am pretty pleased with that Grin

SauvignonBlanche · 29/08/2018 21:33

I gained 6lbs but I had been on holiday.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 29/08/2018 22:00

3lbs off for me this week despite a rare dinner and a movie out with my husband! So pleased Smile

brattitude · 02/09/2018 22:49

Sleepingstandingup

I have a monthly menu as well. Makes meal planning easier as well as shopping. I use the Slow cooker a lot so have a few meals ready bagged up in the freezer ready to go straight in.

This week's meals are tomato pasta, beef stew, chicken curry, kedgeree and stir fry

Lost .3kg this week. I have had better and could do better but have been eating a lot of things I shouldn't have done. Seeing as I was expected to have put on a loss is still a loss.

Trouser progress: I can get them pulled all the way up now but can't get the feckers to do up. January is getting ever closer......

Hangraut · 03/09/2018 20:58

Can I join thread please?

Feeling a bit disappointed. I restarted SW this week, I weigh 18st 4 so a lot to lose...anyway I have been properly on plan all week but only lost 2.5lb. Given how fat I am I thought I would lose at least 4-5 in my first week.

Any words of wisdom please?

CherryBlossomPink · 03/09/2018 21:21

Another joining the thread - starting again at SW on Saturday - I have a year before I turn 50 and I want to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without pain in my knees and ankles.
I have around 10 stone to get rid of - any tips on gentle exercise to start me off gratefully received.

Solina · 04/09/2018 07:19

Welcome @Hangraut and @CherryBlossomPink.

Hangraut 2.5lb is still a loss and I would say its a decent loss. Well done!

CherryBlossomPink I started off with some walking as one of my knees was starting to hurt. You can walk in your own speed and as long as you can. I would say invest in a good pair of walking shoes. I would also think swimming is good as its easy on the joints but I didn't try it as there isn't a convenient pool nearby.

I built up to my silver body magic award and am now doing the gold. Have started the gym now too. I started it all by walking to work and back and now my knee isnt achy anymore.

I have been very good this week. Eaten very healthy and went to the gym few times. I have my induction to using weights and a discussion about starting working out with a PT. I am looking forward to the scales tomorrow.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/09/2018 11:26

Only 1 off. Feel like it's taking forever toose a sodding stone and I have 7 more to go at least, 10 at most!!

Had mushroom stiry fry last night, meatballs tonight, the szechuan sauce was good too

MummatoaMunchin · 04/09/2018 14:12

@Solina thanks you 😊 as my friend pointed out it was not a drastic change as i have been doing slimming world on and off so maybe thats why i didnt loose more!
How is the exercise going? And congrats on your loss thats brilliant!!

@SauvignonBlanche At least you know why and it may be a big loss on your next weigh day?

@TiffanyAtBreakfast well done 😊 its nice to have a treat and it not ruin everything!

Welcome @CherryBlossomPink and @Hangraut 😊

@Solina that sounds like a very good week! Im sure you will do very well!

@SleepingStandingUp i know what you mean! Its so frustrating!

I am dreading weigh in tonight, i am not very hopeful i have been naughty a few times (i know as usual!) just been feeling grumpy and pmt 🙁

MummatoaMunchin · 04/09/2018 19:22

I lost 3lbs!!! Im so chuffed Smile

Solina · 04/09/2018 20:33

@MummatoaMunchin Well done!! Great loss Smile clearly you had been better than you thought!
The excercise is going good, very hard work. Had a session with a PT today and was struggling to get down the stairs after it haha! But feel so good now, loving the feeling after a work out. Grin

shutupandgotosleep · 04/09/2018 21:37

A loss is still a loss, even if it is as small as half a pound.

As for exercise start slowly and build up. Even if it's something as simple as parking the car that bit further away from the supermarket entrance or getting off the bus one stop earlier. Small steps, small steps.
I have cfs/chronic pain so I can't see myself hitting the gym antime soon.

And I still have another 36kg to go before I am at target. Sheesh.

Solina · 05/09/2018 20:32

Lost 1.5lb today which gave me my 1.5st award!

MummatoaMunchin · 06/09/2018 19:58

@Solina thanks you 😊 i know i honestly thought i had been bad! Well done on the exercise i cant even get myself to do an exercise video at the moment!!
Congrats on your loss! The gym must be helping! I bet you were so happy with your award!

Lippysoutherner · 07/09/2018 17:47

Delurking to say hello...been at SW (second time's a charm) since May. 17lb down. Am losing slowly, but I am okay with that as the sudden weight loss route brings a visibility I struggle to deal with. I always stall around the stone mark...it is exciting to feel the changes but also frightening. Got about ten stone to lose.

Nodressrehearsal · 08/09/2018 20:13

Hope to join you all on this long journey. I re joined SW after faffing around and I weighed in at 18.9 heavier than ever even during pregnancies. Ashamed and embarrassed. Just don’t know how it has escalated so quickly. I’m looking at it as 21 meals per week to try and help not to snack between meals, plan properly etc. and feel that I’ve done well for first 9 meals sine joining on Weds. Well done to all for taking first steps. Keep those inspiring stories coming!! ⭐️👍🎉

MummatoaMunchin · 09/09/2018 20:08

@Lippysoutherner delurking i love it! Well done on your loss so far! Nothing with going slow 😊 im the same i get to a stone and then it all goes wrong!

@Nodressrehearsal welcome! Dont be ashamed or embarrassed! It does escalate quickly without you realising it did to me! I find planning really helps to resist temptation!

WittyWithWine · 10/09/2018 16:34

May i join the thread please.
Going to my first SW meeting tonight, husband going too. Feeling quite nervous now...

SleepingStandingUp · 10/09/2018 19:30

Aagghh I'm gonna be late!!!!

Ooh I wonder if any of us go to the same groups. Will be looking out for a new couple...

SleepingStandingUp · 10/09/2018 21:08

So i got
my 1 stone award
slimmer of the week
with a 5.5 lb weight loss

kaitlinktm · 11/09/2018 20:56

Buggrit - didn't go last week (work) and this week have put on 1.5 pounds. I keep pissing about with this same couple of pounds - have been doing this for weeks now.

Damn.

This is my danger point where I get discouraged and stop going - has happened a few times before.

SleepingStandingUp · 12/09/2018 08:16

I know that feeling Kaitlin, I did the same previous few weeks.
Do a week planner and think of it as starting afresh. You CAN smash it this week and that certificate CAN be yours

kaitlinktm · 12/09/2018 09:58

Thanks Sleeping - you are right that keeping track of syns is what works - too bad it often falls by the wayside. Sad

Here's hoping for a better result next week!

MummatoaMunchin · 12/09/2018 11:04

@WittyWithWine welcome! How did it go? I was nervous too but i found after the first couple of times it was leas scary!

@SleepingStandingUp congratulations! You must be really happy 😊. I wonder that too!

@kaitlinktm i am the same! I started off so well at the beginning of the year and put most of it back on! 🤦‍♀️ dont get discouraged you can do it 😊! Also what sleeping said planning and keeping track and things like measuring milk (im terrible for that) all the little things you think itll be ok add up.

I maintained this week, i know why and not too upset.
Im off to centre parcs next week so have two weeks to make a dent and get my half stone award.
I have planned breakfasts and snacks as much as i can, but have given up on on planning lunch/dinner as we are taking it in turns with family to cook so cant dictate what they cook. Im just going to try and be as good as i can.
And being good this week as well to prepare for extra syns next week. 🤞 ill be ok!

Lippysoutherner · 13/09/2018 16:27

It's really hard, the stalling point..don't give up. Do others have strategies for getting past these difficult points?
