@FlopsyMopsyRabbit welcome 😊 and congratulations on your loss so far! I have about the same to lose as you but not got to a stone yet!
I love using instagram i find it really helpful! (Though i have been bad and not posted on it for a while 🤦‍♀️)

@LouLou789 haha! That is very deep but also so true! Without understanding all of that you cant make the changes you need too. Unless your me you know all that and just slip back into bad habits!

@kaitlinktm your ex sounds a treat! No wonder hes an ex. To a degree my husband used to agree his addiction is harder than mine. Though he is starting to realise i have a problem lol!

My mother used to make a big thing out of my weight. She made me feel like my worth went down as i put more weight.
There are many instances where she used my weight as a weapon against me (and my husband).
She controlled what i ate but yet when she had binges and we joined in it was ok! Even when i moved out and went for dinner shes make comments about my portion sizes and controlled what i was allowed
to have.
Funnily enough since i stopped talking to her i am starting to have a different view about my weight and who i am! Shame i havent shown it on the scales yet!

Ok deepness over 😂 im off to do painting with the 18month old! Wish me luck!!

kaitlinktm · 03/02/2019 10:10

That's interesting LouLou - I hadn't considered the difference between addiction and compulsion. As you say, very deep for a Sunday morning.

Mumma - I think you have begun to understand where your weight problems may have started. Understanding that and separating yourself from it must be the key.

Let's hope we all have a good Sunday! (Painting with a toddler sounds fun - if a bit tiring and messy - can I come?)

I’m doing my final year project around weight loss and body satisfaction/self esteem and I need more participants who are partaking in a support group (weight watchers/slimming world etc) to help lose weight, it takes about 5-10 minutes and it is completely anonymous! Just click the “attempting to lose weight with support group”, Thanks in advance

LouLou789 · 03/02/2019 21:14

Hi Laurensher, I just do the plan at home, not eligible for your criteria? Or does this thread count as my support group? I am enjoying being part of this group

Laurensophie123 · 03/02/2019 21:58

4th week in slimming world and i have lost half a stone so far (i only have a stone to lose) but im starting to really really struggle)!! Any tips will be great?

LouLou789 · 03/02/2019 22:14

Well done on your half stone!

What are struggling with? (Eg staying motivated, getting hungry, feeling bored of the food?)

toddle · 03/02/2019 23:05

Nice if somewhat unfortunate to hear I'm not alone with unsupportive individuals. This has led to a Big Mac being consumed today and to be fair it tasted CRAP I would have rather stuffed my face with chocolate or even carrots.

I used to be slim looking back on pictures not that I felt it mind! He used to be big and muscular. He has gained weight and lost size. He says he worries I'm not going to want him if I get skinny how I was before with how he looks now so it possibly is a problem in his own head.

I'm on the app so can never remember people's name so I apologise for not tagging people normally.

Sounds like you have been doing fantastic at home @FlopsyMopsyRabbit (fingers crossed that's the right person)

MummatoaMunchkin · 05/02/2019 07:10

Morning and happy weigh day to all those weighing in today.

@kaitlinktm i think once i start getting my head round it all i might start doing better! (Its been nearly a year but its been hard!)
Painting was great fun but so messy!! You can join in next time 😊

@Laurensophie123 thats amazing well done! Have you tried doing a food diary? That might help shed the last pounds?

@toddle i hate that when you do be naughty and its not even worth it! Have you tried getting your hubby on board? Exercising/cooking/ meal planning together? Might make a difference?

kaitlinktm · 05/02/2019 10:40

Grr - one pound back on - and after walking up that hill last week too. I will just have to meticulously track my syns this week. I usually do it for a couple of days and then let it slide. :(

19CLT92 · 05/02/2019 17:38

Hello, I hope you don't mind if I join too I'm 28st 13lbs I've last 4lb last week my first week on slimming world. I can't believe how heavy I've gotten I've aways been around 19-24 stone up and down but mum passed away and ive gotten huge. Really want a baby so I have to get a good few stone off this year, I'm 5ft 9 so I'm tall so I carry weight all over and currently in size 26 would liken to be back in a 16 and feeling good about myself! I'm fed up with food!! It just makes me misreble! Anyway I'm just looking for support and to support others! Currently doing sw online weighing myself got the online membership. Cooking up slimming world cauliflour cheese and pasta bake for next few days!

kaitlinktm · 05/02/2019 19:17

Whoah - well done on your 4lb CLT - would you mind explaining to me how the online membership works? I am in a bit of a situation at the moment as my local group is on Tuesday morning and I can never stay to group as I am working in the afternoon. I have stayed sometimes in school holidays but sometimes they do a different sort of a meeting as people have their children with them - so at Easter they did games and stuff. How do you go on for support on line?

Also, to people who stay to group, how is it? Does it really help - my group leader is great and very charistmatic but my attention span does disappear after queuing for weigh-in, waiting for everyone to be weighed and then 15 minutes into the meeting and I'm wanting to go.

19CLT92 · 05/02/2019 19:37

Thanks kaitlin, basically you sign up online and pay I think £20 a month but they ask you to pay 3 months in advance. You can also transfer your online to group membership anytime even halfway through the 3 months so you don't waste money. You get access to the app and the online help and that's about it, there's loads of help online and the app and I guess this group too. It's hard to get to group somtimes, I work different shifts so I can't And I don't like to switch groups I lile to stay at one so well see. I find group helpful if your struggling. It gives you that motivation at the moment I'm in a good place so I'm doing it online but ad soon as I slip I'm going to class and make it work. It can be a long time in class, if you have a good group funny and helpful supportive that helps. Good luck x

LouLou789 · 05/02/2019 21:14

Well done CLT, 4 pounds is a great start. Let us know what you think of the cauli cheese.

Kaitlin that is not fair after your hill walk! Hope you see a good result next time. I was so fed up to gain 2 pounds last week and really want rid of that again. I just do it from home as well, not even online like CLT. You can easily get all the info you need from FB and online. But if I feel my motivation slipping I will go to a group, even if for a short time.

Toddle that’s interesting about your OH’s worries, at least you have been able to talk about it,

Did anyone else see The Two Chubby Cubs on This Time Next Year tonight?

19CLT92 · 05/02/2019 22:24

Thanks Lou Lou the cauli cheese was amazing. I mixed quark one.egg 2tbspoons of philly light heA in bowl poured on cooked broccoli then another hexa on top and baked for 20 mins split between 2 only one hexa used then amazing! Hope you both get the loss you want next weigh day. I'm hoping for another big loss, I find when your bigger you do get a couple of big losses over first few weeks which, at this point I need! Good luck everyone X

LouLou789 · 05/02/2019 22:35

Sounds lovely CLT!
I lost 5 pounds week 1 then nothing week 2, then 5 in week 3. Did the same all 3 weeks. So do not worry if the scales don’t show much this time! sometimes your body needs to catch up with itself.

LouLou789 · 06/02/2019 07:01

Weigh in (really anxious after last weeks gain) Four pounds off! Which is the two I gained plus two more and finally MY TWO STONE 🎉

kaitlinktm · 06/02/2019 09:55

Yay LouLou!! This is just the boost you need.

CLT - thanks for the info - £20 a month seems a lot though, I pay less than £5 a week for going to class and I get access to the online help too. I was thinking that, as I can't usually stay to class anyway, it might be cheaper to do just online, but it would appear not. Anyway, I think I need the discipline of going to be weighed - or I would just put it off. :(

They did suggest I went to an evening class, but I have done evenings in the past when I worked full time and in the end, especially this time of year, I just gave up. I was too knackered to be bothered - and the local evening class is the same day, ie one of my working days, so I could see that happening again!

LouLou789 · 07/02/2019 07:09

Kaitlin maybe you’d feel more like an evening group in a couple of months once the nights get a bit lighter? And maybe you could build in a reward for when you go (I mean a non-food reward 😃)

toddle · 07/02/2019 10:06

Well done @LouLou789 amazing achievement!

MummatoaMunchkin · 07/02/2019 13:32

Welcome @19CLT92 😊 well done so far!

@LouLou789 thats great well done!!

@kaitlinktm Could you have built muscle from the hill walking?

I gained half a pound, im blaming being premenstral 😂

kaitlinktm · 07/02/2019 20:43

Haha Mumma - not from one walk up one hill I don't think, but it's a nice thought and I thank you for it! Grin Grin

FlopsyMopsyRabbit · 08/02/2019 13:55

Thanks very much!

Weigh in tomorrow, I've been 100% on plan all week and 0.5lbs from my 3 stone award so hoping for at least that tomorrow

LouLou789 · 08/02/2019 15:25

Mumma, I predict a good loss next week, with no PMT!

Flopsy, good luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed for your three stone!

toddle · 08/02/2019 21:52

Good luck for tomorrow I also weigh in tomorrow. Haven't had anywhere near the speed food I should have had this week because of finances so a bit worried I may not have lost anything.

MummatoaMunchkin · 09/02/2019 19:04

@kaitlinktm haha! Youd be surprised though!

@FlopsyMopsyRabbit and @toddle how did you both do?

@LouLou789 im hoping so! Even if its 1lb
