Blow! off not of - grr

LouLou789 · 15/01/2019 12:11

Hurray! You’re on the right track, must have been great to see those scales shift again. 1lb a week is fine: adds up to 3 and a half stone by next Christmas! Well done.

Re main meal, we eat ours around 5pm and that suits us, we are full and don’t eat again.

toddle · 15/01/2019 20:28

Well done on your loss.

Yes weigh in on Saturdays so half way through! Should have done my next c25k run today but something came up and now can't go until Friday so a bit gutted as it seems ages away.

That's really interested around the fat cells. Will have a read into it.

MissDemelzaCarne · 15/01/2019 20:34

I managed to gain 12lbs over Christmas and New Year Xmas Blush but lost 8.5 of those last week. Grin

kaitlinktm · 15/01/2019 20:55

Eight and a half pounds in a week - unbelievable! Well done to all of us!

LouLou789 · 15/01/2019 21:13

Toddle this is what I saw on FB, don’t know how true

Amazing loss @MissDemelzaCarne

Thankyou @LouLou789.

Solina · 16/01/2019 20:12

Well done on the losses! I lost 4lb this week which was more than I expected. Very pleased with it! This means I am back in my club 10 weight.
Next aim is to get to 2.5st award. Only 5lb to go for it.

LouLou789 · 16/01/2019 20:37

Great news Solina and MissDemelza, you’ve both done amazingly 😀

LouLou789 · 17/01/2019 07:04

My weigh in this morning. Another pound off, bit disappointed as I’ve stuck to it really well. However, another loss! and that’s now 1 stone 11 so I’m inching towards my 2 stone, and there’s 5 inches gone from my waist, hurrah!

Solina · 17/01/2019 07:30

LouLou789 Thanks and well done on your loss! Smile

kaitlinktm · 17/01/2019 11:08

Go us! We've all done well this week! Now for the challenge of the weekend! :D

Solina · 17/01/2019 21:50

I ended up on a bit of a binge tonight. Ate a tub of ice cream and 3 bags of crisps Blush I dont know why because all day I was in control and was doing really well. Feeling really down now and I know this is how I will feel and still eat the stuff.

I have been struggling with evenings lately where I feel I just want to eat everything bad. Never had this before. Any ideas what I could do to stop this?

kaitlinktm · 17/01/2019 22:07

Firstly don't let it spoil another day -start afresh.

Secondly - don't know if this will work for you, but when I was having trouble with evening scoffing (I still do sometimes) I used to start my "day" (syns wise) in the evening or after tea - say from 5 pm to 5 pm, then you are doing your eating in the evening and making your syns last out during the day when you are more likely to be busy.

I know people say you shouldn't eat after a certain time at night, and they're maybe right, but we all know what we can and can't do, and I know I like to snack a bit a lot in the evenings.

Would this work for you do you think?

Solina · 17/01/2019 22:26

kaitlinktm Thank you so much for responding and for your help. You are right, need to not let it ruin this week.

I have never thought about doing that but I might give it a go. Most of my syns are gone by the time I get home or at the latest when I have my dinner so it might be an idea to save them for after work. At least for a while.

I might also look at some syn free snacks and preparing some in advance so its easy to just grab them rather than a bag of crisps etc. I dont know what would be a nice snack though...

JaceLancs · 17/01/2019 22:27

Lost 2.5 this week so at least back to where I was before Xmas

LouLou789 · 17/01/2019 22:30

Good idea, Kaitlyn! And we all need to find our own way. I only don’t eat after a certain time because 1. I’m full and 2. I’m so fat I’m at risk of diabetes and want to cut my risk until I’ve lost enough weight to cut that risk..,if that makes sense, I don’t think it’s helped my weight loss AT ALL.

Solina, eurgh we all have those days, and tomorrow’s a new start. Make the new start! and you won’t have undone all last week’s good work. Would Kaitlyn’s syns idea help, if evenings are a harder time for you?

kaitlinktm · 18/01/2019 00:08

I'm very bad at ready to eat snacks. Sometimes I do some chicken legs and have them in the fridge, or cherry tomatoes (I only like them at room temperature). My friend swears by hard boiled eggs but I'm not keen myself.

I will have a think and look at my online group for ideas.

I do like sugar free jelly - it's not quite free but if you make it yourself from the packet, a pint of jelly is about 1.5 syns and does about 3-4 servings. I have it with plain greek yogurt (and pretend it's cream - not fooled though Grin ), or I have chopped up banana and plain yogurt.

My local Tesco do ready cut chips - raw potato really - which I use to make SW chips. It's not instant though, takes about 20 minutes but they do taste good. (I don't have an air fryer).

Anyone else got any instant snack ideas?

toddle · 18/01/2019 11:59

I've also been wanting to snack on crap at night my dp has been working away for a week and I think I've just felt bored. I've opened a big jar of picked onions in the hope it puts me of the 4! Buns my mum bought me as a treat for doing so well with the couch to 5k Confused

I usually have a fibre one cake bar thing and a options mint hot chocolate at a night time so I feel like I've had a treat.

LouLou789 · 18/01/2019 12:47

My danger snack time is late afternoon, partly been solved by having such an early tea but pickled onions/gherkins are something I have,

toddle · 19/01/2019 09:36

Lost 2.5lb for first weigh in. I expected it to be a bit more to be honest with being much bigger then I've been before. However it's 2.5 in the right direction

LouLou789 · 19/01/2019 10:59

Well done, such a great start! Onwards and downwards! (weightwise 😉)

kaitlinktm · 19/01/2019 11:27

Another favourite of mine is the crustless quiche, Spray an oven/quiche dish with Fry Light. You could put any veg etc in the base - peppers, onion, sweetcorn with tuna, ham etc - anything free. Then you beat 3 eggs and mix them with a tub of fat free cottage cheese (I add loads of black pepper too). Pour the mixture over the veg etc in the dish and bake for about 30 minutes.

I know it sounds a lot of cooking, but you can have a slice, put the rest in the fridge and have a slice the next day - cold or hot.

My favourite is mushroom and bacon which is a bit more of a piddle - you have to cook them first (I use cut up bacon medallions) but it is SO tasty - and all that protein makes you fuller. You can have it with beans and a jacket potato for a whole meal or as I say, just a slice as a snack.

LouLou789 · 19/01/2019 12:36

kaitlinktm I love SW quiche, thanks for reminding us about this. I am going to make one!

Another of my snacks is cold baked beans

Solina · 20/01/2019 19:26

I bought options hot chocolates to try and have found them quite good for something sweet to curb the need for snacks. Have had 2 pretty good days too so feeling like I am back in control.
I have also planned all meals for the whole week plus snacks so should be good. Hoping to at least maintain on Wednesday now!
