Hi Redred. All we can do is our best, not go mad, and back on it straight afterwards. I’m going to have a few treats but not pig out.

Well, hope everyone is ok, I’ve done it! Made my first target of 1 and a half stone by Christmas. Hurrah!! My next mini target is 2 stone 8 so I will start work on that after the festivities 😃

kaitlinktm · 02/01/2019 18:52

Hope everyone is OK - I somehow managed to delete this thread from my watched list, but I've found it again now.

I lost 1.5 pounds just before Christmas but have put 2.5 on this evening. TBH I'm not too bothered as I thought it would be worse as I have been completely off plan - it was all downhill from me putting the chocolates on the tree - just why did I even do that? No children in the house, so guess who ate them all?

Anyway, looking at my new book, we are allowed a second HEA (the dairy one).

MummatoaMunchkin · 05/01/2019 09:46

Hey im back!! Planning to rejoin group on tuesday as i got money for christmas so ill treat myself 😂.
I have put on a lot! But i still weigh less than i did this time last year so theres that!

@kaitlinktm well done!! 2.5lbs isnt so bad in the scheme of things!
That why i dont put chocolates on the tree i just eat them, buy more, eat them, buy more..........on and on and on!

I just about manage to eat my advent properly 😂

We need to get this thread going again! It has been such a help (when im being good!)

LouLou789 · 05/01/2019 12:40

Agreed, let’s support each other, good luck with the new start MummatoaMuchkin. Great to just start where you are, and lighter than the first time.

Kaitlinktm, so a net gain of a pound then, hey that’s a result, and now you can start losing again.

I am back on it properly now, had a couple of mad evenings over New Year, but otherwise stuck to it fairly well. Lost one pound over the festive fortnight so loss is now 1 stone 8. Another thing I’ve started doing is writing down positive changes I’m noticing, so I can focus on them when I get fed up with slow weight loss. One is getting up and down stairs more easily, another is going down a bra size.

MummatoaMunchkin · 09/01/2019 11:46

Thanks @LouLou789

It wasnt so bad in the end iam 15st 13.5lbs!! Which is 10.5lbs more than when i last weighed in October!
It could be worse and it could be better!!

And i have a shiny new book so i am happy!

I like the idea of writing down the positive changes! I have written down why i want to loose so i am going to add that to my note book 😊

I hope you are all having a good week!!

kaitlinktm · 09/01/2019 16:33

I stayed the same this week - a tad disappointing but am hoping for better next week. I think it was the remains of the Christmas goodies which did for me! No willpower whatsoever

MummatoaMunchkin · 09/01/2019 21:20

@kaitlinktm your not alone! I have no willpower at all! At least you didnt gain?

LouLou789 · 10/01/2019 07:31

Hello!

I think it’s great you didn’t gain kaitlynktm. I reckon THIS is the week where you kick start your loss. Is there a change you can make? The reason I ask is I’ve decided to drink more water, increase veg and cut down the carb bit of my main meal. Have all the Christmas treats gone now? That must be so hard. We just didn’t have any treats in the house apart from a selected few which I guzzled over Christmas itself. Good luck!

Hi Mummatoamunchkin, what do you think of the new book? I love it that we can have more Are you setting an interim target?

I’ve lost 2 pounds this week, so total is now 1 stone 10, hurrah! There is a very, very long way to go. I have a big trip to Ireland planned in the autumn and my goal is not a particular target weight but just to improve my mobility for the hol so that’s why I’m focusing on positive lifestyle changes.

kaitlinktm · 10/01/2019 09:52

Wow Lou - 2 pounds, that's impressive!

I definitely don't eat enough speed that's true, and as I got a Soda Stream for Christmas, there's no excuse not to drink more water (I like fizzy water). As for the extra HEA - well it just means I don't have to syn my extra milk (drink lots of tea/coffee with milk) so it's a good thing. I can only have the same amount of syns - there is a sliding scale for them now isn't there, depending on your weight? Men can have loads of syns - so unfair! Grin

MummatoaMunchkin · 10/01/2019 11:46

Hey @LouLou789 i love it! Though i haven't read it cover to cover yet. The extra makes me so happy, im not a big cheese fan but i do like halloumi and mozzarella so will be nice to have them now and again without synning them!
Yeah my interim target is 15st (i thought id break it down!!) have you got one?

@kaitlinktm the syns are different? Do you know where we can find that?

LouLou789 · 10/01/2019 12:01

@Mummatoamunchkin, That sounds good, to set a target that’s within reasonable reach. I am going for my 2 stone at the moment, then my next target will be 2st 12 (to get me below the next stone marker) After that...well I see if I get there first!

@kaitlynktm
That was a really good prezzie for you, then! I try to have a glass of water by my side all the time so I am encouraged to drink more. More veg for both of us by the sound of it Smile

kaitlinktm · 10/01/2019 16:17

@Mumms - I don't know if all the syns are different I know mine are the same - the chart is on P 95 of the new book - it says:

Up to 16 stones - (women) 5-15 syns a day / (men) 5-25 syns a day
up to 20 stones - (women) 5-20 syns a day / (men) 5-30 syns a day
over 20 stones - (women) 5-25 syns a day / (men) 5-35 syns a day

Solina · 12/01/2019 13:11

I am back! Put on 6lb over Christmas, did not go to group for about 4 weeks so not that bad I guess. Last weigh in I lost 2lb and if I lose another 2lb this week I will be back in my 2st loss. Current weight is 18st 13lb. Sad

I have plans on losing about 2lb a week on average this year, obviously it may not happen but I am trying to keep myself motivated as much as possible and I am planning ahead for all meals. Really would like to reach 15st by summer which is my interim target for now! Also that will be the lowest weight I can remember being. Blush

Hope everyone is well! We can do this!

kaitlinktm · 13/01/2019 11:54

Solina the 6lb divided over 4 weeks comes to about the same amount I put on I think (I have been going every week). I hope to stay positive this year too - maybe not 2lb a week as it's slower at my age and rate of exercise none but my main goal is to keep going. Previously I have given up and then it takes me (on average) 18 months to start again - that's how I put the weight back on.

Good luck to all of us (have just scarfed down my crustless quiche).

LouLou789 · 13/01/2019 12:56

Hi solina, that sounds an excellent target for the summer. My big trip is in Sept, and my dream is to lose 4 stone by then (but would be thrilled with 3)

Yes kktm, That’s the aim for all of us, to keep going. Good luck this week, everyone, can’t wait to hear how you all get on!

toddle · 13/01/2019 21:30

Hi is it a bit too late to join this chat? I see it's been up and running for a while.

LouLou789 · 13/01/2019 21:43

Toddle, you’re welcome, I’m new too, are you new to SW, how are you doing?

kaitlinktm · 14/01/2019 10:15

Hi toddle, of course it isn't too late, so welcome - I dare say a few might be joining SW this month and might come along here. It's different for us compared with those who only have to lose a stone or so - we have to be in it for the long haul!

toddle · 14/01/2019 12:33

Thankyou.

I've done it previously but joined again on Saturday. I started eating a bit healthier the week before but thought I best get back to a group too. I've got 7 stone to lose. I'm without a doubt the biggest I've ever been and that figure just seems crazy. It's my son and daughter together!

Im in week 2 of the couch to 5k in the hope that helps with my fitness. I bike daily for up to a hour but get out of breath walking up the stairs Confused

Hoping I may feel a bit of inspiration here with people who have more to lose

LouLou789 · 14/01/2019 20:20

Good luck with your first week on the new campaign, toddle. I find it overwhelming when I think of how much I need to lose. So definitely a good idea to break it down into min targets. You’re really brave doing the couch to 5K

toddle · 14/01/2019 20:43

@LouLou789 yes that's maybe a good plan maybe split it into 25lb's.

I'm not sure whether brave is the right word but it's not actually as hard as I thought at the moment anyway haha! Week 1 is 5 min walking warm up, then you go to 60 seconds of 'running', 90 seconds of walking repeat that 3 times I think then 5 min cool down walking. I'm doing more of a waddle/jog, however it's more exercise other then biking I've done in a long long time.

What sort of losses have people had at the start if you guys don't mind me asking/has it slowed down as you've lost more weight? Curious what I can expect to achieve with a bit of willpower

LouLou789 · 14/01/2019 21:38

Still sounds challenging!

Here’s my weight loss journey. Weeks 11 and 12 was Christmas and New Year so I’m pretty pleased. Back on track now.

Week 1: 5 pounds
Week 2: 0
Week 3: 5 pounds
Week 4: 0
Week 5: 5 pounds
Week 6: 1 pound
Week 7: 2 pounds
Week 8: 1 pound
Week 9: 1.5 pounds
Week 10: 1 pound
Week 11: 0.5 pound
Week 12: 0
Week 13: 2 pounds

Total loss so far 1 stone 10.

toddle · 14/01/2019 22:26

I think that's pretty amazing for Christmas and New Year and not a single gain either! Some big 5lb losses too. Do you think you did anything different those weeks out of curiosity?

LouLou789 · 14/01/2019 22:46

No, it was just at the beginning as my body thought HEY WHAT?
There was a post on my SW FB page today that explained that we lose fat, but those cels refill with water awaiting a refill of fat. When it doesn’t come, then they go altogether. Don’t know how true that is, but it explains the no loss weeks and big loss weeks alternating. Have stuck to the plan except those two Xmas weeks, when I had a few extras, but not much.

Is your weigh-in each Saturday, toddle? I am not going to group, just doing it on my own

kaitlinktm · 15/01/2019 11:16

Lost 1lb today - I'm relieved it came of instead of on! My losses are never very big (it's an age thing I think) so 1lb is good.

It's funny but because my son was away and because I wasn't working yesterday I had my main meal in the late afternoon. It seems to suit me better, don't know why. Back to normal today though - working and other son coming round.

Good luck with weigh-ins everyone!
