Well done to everyone this week - I didn't weigh in as I have been ill - on ABs for 2 weeks - but I weighed myself at the same time as weigh-in and had stayed the same.

I also wonder if any of us are in the same group.

Just trying to keep focussed for the weekend!

LouLou789 · 25/11/2018 20:07

Is anyone else a bit (ahem) older? I’m nearly 60.

Lost a stone (hurrah!) but it’s the equivalent of a deckchair off the Titanic, so I need to stay motivated.

kaitlinktm · 25/11/2018 21:47

Hi LouLou - I am 63 and yes, although I have lost over 2 stone it is just a drop in the ocean and I seem to have plateaued for months now. Sad

I comfort myself by thinking that I must just keep on going. If I stopped then all the work I have done so far would be wasted.

I have been ill this week so am not expecting great things on Tuesday (sadly for me I rarely lose my appetite even when ill). Still, will go in and see in any case.

LouLou789 · 25/11/2018 22:08

Hello Kaitlinktm, you sound similar to me. Well done for keeping going! I have a foot problem and exercise is restricted. I’m sure you’re right: just sticking with it is the thing. One thing that’s helped me is to think ok I have lost 16 pounds but if I hadn’t done SW during this time I would probably have put on another couple so I mentally add that to my achievement.

Good luck with your weigh in!

kaitlinktm · 25/11/2018 22:39

What day is your meeting LouLou?

LouLou789 · 25/11/2018 23:02

Not going to group, doing it myself and getting weighed on Thursdays at home,

I lost loads 20 years ago and was (for about 30 seconds) a brilliant size but put it all on again, and more, much to my shame. Decided I would start off on my own this time.

kaitlinktm · 26/11/2018 12:13

Haha - you sound just like me. I lost loads about 15 or so years ago but it was on a VLCD. It was great being a size 12 but I simply couldn't maintain it so it all went back on again.

When you do it on your own, can you get on line? Or even on a FB group. My SW leader has a FB group which is useful to me as I can't stay to meetings (except in the school holidays).

LouLou789 · 26/11/2018 13:34

I could be an online member but have got all the info I need and am a member of three national SW Facebook groups to give me ideas. My plan was that if I got really stuck then I’d join a group. Although I’ve realised I had not been including a Speed food with every meal, and I’ve rectified that.

How long have you been on the plan, kaitlinktm?

kaitlinktm · 26/11/2018 19:00

I'm afraid I have been on it this time for over a year. I really ought to have lost twice what I have. Sad I joined in 2015 too and did a few months before my DF was taken into hospital for 10 weeks and it went by the wayside.

Not looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow but I have to keep going.

LouLou789 · 26/11/2018 19:54

Let us know how you get on. And maybe your consultant can suggest a kick start for you so you feel more encouraged.

Good luck to everyone with weigh-ins in the next day or two!

kaitlinktm · 26/11/2018 20:41

Thanks LouLou and good luck to you too.

kaitlinktm · 27/11/2018 11:13

Half a pound on - dammit. They tried to console me by pointing out that I'd been ill - why can't I lose my appetite when I'm ill like other people? (Sigh)

Anyway, I am trying not to let it make me give up. Hope you all do better than I have this week!

Bought the new book - one pot recipes - maybe that will cheer me up!

LouLou789 · 27/11/2018 16:51

Putting on is really disheartening but only half a pound is something I reckon you can shift this week! Hope the new book proves helpful,
I was out to lunch. Had cod topped with herby crumb and baked in a bed of black lentils and roast root veg, and bouillabaisse sauce. I reckon the crumbs are my B and the rest is free except I bet there was some butter in the sauce. Was still pretty pleased as I steered clear of all chips, fried stuff, puds, lattes etc!

slithytove · 27/11/2018 19:53

Lost 3 lbs which I’m really please with, and I’m in the 13 stone bracket for the first time in 3 years

31 lbs gone total
4 lbs to go to next mini target
48 lbs left to lose

LouLou789 · 28/11/2018 19:01

Slithytove that is fantastic, you are doing so well. I daren’t even think about how much I need to lose. It’s actually a fairly stocky extra person!

I have lost 2 pounds this week, so now lost 1 stone 4. My original idea was to do 1stone 7 by Christmas so that’s looking possible

Winterfellismyhome · 29/11/2018 22:10

I missed my first weeks weigh in but went on Tuesday and lost 1.5lbs. Not bad. Considering i slipped towards the end of the week. Well done on your losses everyone

slithytove · 04/12/2018 13:10

Lost another 2 this week
33 lbs gone forever
2 lbs to Christmas target
46 lbs left to lose

I’m so happy

Everyone is doing brilliantly

kaitlinktm · 04/12/2018 16:45

I maintained this week (sigh). I suppose it could have been worse. Sad

fleabagmonkey · 04/12/2018 17:14

Lost 3lb this week, 3.5lb until my club 10 which is what I really want by Christmas.

LouLou789 · 04/12/2018 18:43

Well done everyone!

Kaitlinktm have you tried anything from that new book? I was wondering if you stick exactly to the plan? If so, you could post a week’s food diary and see if we could suggest anything. Or if not, what’s the hardest thing (eg you have a sweet tooth, you miss bread)? Just trying to think of ways we can support you

kaitlinktm · 04/12/2018 20:15

No I know what I am doing wrong in my heart of hearts. I'm not eating "bad" foods like chocolate or ice cream, but having too much of what I consider to be good things. You can even have too many Ryvitas after all. And I didn't try anything from the book Blush and this week I bought the Christmas book.

The all in one book is quite good though. I have that one, the Fakeaways one and the Take 5 one (where you only have 5 ingredients). I have other ones too, but so far I think those are the best.

Well done everyone - I will have to pull my socks up!! Grin

LouLou789 · 05/12/2018 17:48

Kaitlinktm, it’s good that you know what’s causing it. Some days I just want to have about 6 B sections. And every food, even healthy stuff, has calories. Maybe increase your speed foods to fill you up a bit so you’re not tempted to pick? Anyway keep going 😀

kaitlinktm · 11/12/2018 10:59

Lost 1.5 pounds today - I keep faffing around with the same couple of pounds, but at least I lost it. I think the best thing to do at this time of year is to keep going to weigh-in and at least then you know what the damage is. It was very tempting to give up going the last 2 weeks, and I just know I would have been eating all sorts of stuff.

To be frank, I just don't know what I did differently this week - a bit confused but hey.

We have one more ordinary meeting next Tuesday and then just a weigh and go thing on the Sunday before Christmas. I am really trying to go to that one. Can't remember when the New Year one is, but of course in January group will be packed out. It's relatively slow at the moment - apparently that's normal for this time of year.

Good luck this week everyone - but if it's bad news, remember, if you weren't going at all the damage would be even worse!

LouLou789 · 11/12/2018 14:17

Well done kaitlinktm! Bet you’re glad to see that movement on the scales.

I lost a pound last week and with three Christmas meals out this week I would be thrilled to stay the same, although I have been careful what I chose.

How’s everyone getting on?

Redred2429 · 17/12/2018 19:46

I have lost two stons since September really nervous about Christmas
