@Scribblegirl I normally get butterfly chicken at 3 syns spicy rice at 2 syns and corn on the cob. Or you could have salad.

Had a night out last night. We raised £1000 for charity.

Just a chill day today. Will take soup out the freezer for lunch and will make a mayflower curry for dinner in the slow cooker.

Morning!
I want to try SW and am a bit nervous! I would like to lose about 4 stone as a dream goal, but 2 stone would be a great start. Excited to get started ☺️
If anyone has any advice, anything would be appreciated. Thank you!

Groovee · 21/10/2017 13:38

@Jo2217 write everything down, look at recipes and make sure your 1/3rd speed food is on your plate.

jo definitely write everything down, I also started writing times and things too to see where I was having difficulties. My downfalls is the evening where I'm tired, I make sure I have lots of low syn or free snacks in the cupboard to pick at. Today I'm studying so like to pick, I've made a plate of bits to pick at rather than a proper lunch.

Also make sure the plan is doable - don't plan a new meal on a day which is busy, I know tuesdays and Fridays I'm shattered so those days are easy meals either frozen from another day or something like stir fry/pasta where there's minimal prep, this is so I don't get stressed and think Fuck it and raid the cupboard for snacks!!

Trills · 21/10/2017 20:09

Trying to make a pasta sauce creamy with quark and I think I've added it too soon as it's gone quite watery.

I'll stick some more in right at the end and not heat it too much.

Groovee · 21/10/2017 20:49

I think you need to be careful with quark. I find go go cheese spread is goodfor making a sauce.

OP posts:
Trills · 22/10/2017 08:02

Pinch of nom reckoned stirring it into pasta was a perfectly reasonable thing to do but I am not sure I believe them.

I didn't want anything cheesy-tasting, wanted the equivalent of creme fraiche, next time I might just get the half-fat creme fraiche and syn it.

Greenteandchives · 22/10/2017 08:06

I tried stirring the Tesco quark with tomato and basil, which is lovely, into pasta and added some fresh chopped tomato. It was delicious. The pasta can't be too hot or it sort of curdles.

NightOfTheDeadXmasFairy · 22/10/2017 09:42

After my first fab week, I feel slightly let down by my choices since Friday. Feeling like crap doesn’t help. Going to try and turn it around today. Pinch of nom chicken orzo thing for dinner, will last me 2 days (3 if the kids don’t like/eat it!)

Am off to a wedding fayre at my venue today where they serve fookin amazing canapés Halloween WinkHalloween Shock so need to try and limit the amount I shove in my gob GrinHalloween Grin

Scribblegirl · 22/10/2017 10:42

december it's because he doesn't want you to see the state of his room (which I'm guessing he spent all Friday cleaning Grin)

Weekend has been ok so far - Nando's on Friday felt like a real treat, since weigh in on Wednesday I've averaged 10 syns a day so feel relatively on track. The temptation to get some wine for this afternoon is there though....

trinitybleu · 22/10/2017 10:49

Re Nando's... Am sure someone told me the syns online include the skin, so if you remove that the syns are ever lower.

Re Quark... I stir the Arla one into cooked pasta and it's fine, but for lots of these sauces, if you add an egg as well it stops it splitting.

Groovee · 22/10/2017 10:59

I use fat free fromage frais for making sauces creamy.

Well, the class scales were very kind to me this week as I lost 3lbs putting me firmly in the 12 stone bracket at 12st 12. I got my Club 10 and stone and a half awards Grin

Groovee · 22/10/2017 15:13

Well done amused.

I’m back to work this week. So need to plan breakfast and lunch in advance. Thinking soup for lunch and either a fruit Omelette or over night bran (like over night oats) or I could do porridge.

OP posts:
onestepforwardtenstepsback · 22/10/2017 19:19

I'm not looking forward to the scales this week first weigh in after two bad weeks and struggling to get back into it. Never had a bad week before this from February

Trills · 22/10/2017 19:28

If I have a bad result this week I will simply say "sticky toffee pudding".

I did enjoy it.

Trills · 22/10/2017 19:29

Sounds like on the quark front I've got to treat it like the eggs in a carbonara, and not like creme fraiche (which can be actually cooked).

ShapelyBingoWing · 22/10/2017 20:01

I've been massively off the wagon for the past 2 days after finding my 1.5lb loss last week (just week 2) really disappointing. My usual pattern of self sabotage I suppose Sad

I'm getting back on it tomorrow. It's easier when I don't have family stuff going on.

Flutterby81 · 22/10/2017 21:34

Well done amused!
So far so good today weeks shop tomorow so Lots of planning needed for lunches for work and on extra earlies for few days at end of week so will prob take breakfast rather than lunch to work Hmm

RhinoGirl · 22/10/2017 22:47

Anyone tried to do jacket potatoes in the slow cooker?
Had a good weekend so far, lots of good choices. Made the cajun chicken pasta tonight, was delicious! I’ve been doing SW for so long I make the same things continuously, so I challenged myself to make a different recipe everyweek. Anyone got any favourites they want to share?

NightOfTheDeadXmasFairy · 23/10/2017 07:15

Need to make these 5 days count! Feeling like crap and can’t taste much so feel like all the lovely tasty food I’m planning is a waste Halloween Hmm but need to be good to see any form of loss I think on Saturday after a poor weekend!

Flutterby81 · 23/10/2017 08:24

Sts for me this morning Iv had a stern talking to myself though and come to thre realisation that if I don't stick to it now il probably never lose my excess weight and there's so many free food on slimming world not to mention low syn there's really no need for Me to not stick with it! So here goes 9 weeks until Christmas Day and id like to lose at least a pound a week ideally 2. Iv spent at least the last month or more doing it half heartedly so today is the day my willpower returns!!

Hope you feel better soon nightofthedead.

Scribblegirl · 23/10/2017 08:47

I hear you flutterby, it has to be now! Smile and nightof, take care of yourself Flowers

Weekend was... ok. I went over my syns yesterday (22) - I'd been all on track for a solid 15 and then a rogue glass of wine slipped in. Ah well. As much as we're not meant to save syns I find it so much easier to rack up 5 a day during the week and max them out on the weekend. Fingers crossed the scales reflect my weekly input rather than my daily... WI on Wednesday so being desperately good today and tomorrow.

latedecember1963 · 23/10/2017 11:38

Had a 1.5 gain this morning but have only been half on plan this weekend. It was worth it to see DS2. His room was suspiciously tidy, so your theory may well be correct, Scribbles!😁
I'd be interested to know if it's possible to make jacket potatoes in a slow cooker too, Rhino.
Good luck with work this week, Groove.
Escaping to the caravan tomorrow where internet signal can be patchy so I'll wish everyone a good week.

Groovee · 23/10/2017 11:48

I’m dreading weigh in! I had a few days off plan which made me ill. Got my cycle happening (without bleeding) and I’m bunged up. I need a good 💩!

I’m back meal planning, possibly going to write everything down. I can do this! I only had 3.5lb to lose to my next target. Am hoping to get 10.5lb off by the end of January. Bearing in mind I have a 40th Birthday, a 21st, and Christmas all in 8 days 😂
