Happy belated birthday Owl.

I’ve been on plan since Monday, had a bit of a silly weekend.

I’ve gone off veg, which is a struggle. I just can’t stomach any at the moment, salads at home are a no go, other than subway salads. Trying my hardest though as fruit doesn’t agree with me. Soup seems to be fine though.

Made a lovely curried BNS soup today which went down well.

It’s my birthday in just over 2 weeks so really need to get to the lower part of my target so that I can enjoy it without feeling guilty.

I've been totally shit Sad

I find that carbs and sugars are addictive and was finding myself craving more and more. Had a week of bingeing and, unfortunately, have been working so unable to get to my usual group which I am feeling a bit "meh" about rejoining as it is so boring. I know I've mentioned it before but very few people stay, it is not very friendly and the leader does the absolute bare minimum, I've been going since June and, although I've had a brief chat with a couple of people, still don't know anyone. I don't know whether to rejoin at another group or think that I have the books so just use those along with dietary support and advice from trainer at the gym

ALemonyPea · 28/10/2017 17:48

Hard one Hugh. If you think you need the support of the group, then rejoin a different one. If you think you can go it alone, then try that. You could always join a different group if going it alone doesn’t work.

Personally, I’m not enjoying group any more. I’m getting annoyed with my consultant who bangs on and on about getting to target, staying on plan even when times are tough, yet in the 10+ years she has been a consultant, she has never hit target. She was 6lb away from target before last Christmas, now she is almost 2 stone from it. Hypocrite much? I’m not feeling supported, and all my friends who have hit their target have left or been removed from the group as they weren’t attending as often as the consultant wanted.

@ALemonyPea I’m feeling the same about mine which is a very similar story. Her weight loss changes depending on who she speaks to. She’s leaving in January so hoping a new one will be more interesting x

Meant to say Groovee, try adding a teaspoon of choc shot for half a syn to your baked oats instead of the 1.5/2 syns for options. Much more nicer as well, and you can get different flavours like coconut or mint chocolate

Lemony That's what I can't decide, I haven't really had any support from the group but is it that going keeps me on track anyway? Would the gym trainer have the same effect, I don't know. I'm going to meet him one to one on Tuesday so will see

Interestingly, the group I've been to haven't been in touch although I've missed 3 weeks so I guess they aren't bothered anyway. My friend stopped going a couple of months ago and never had any contact from them

Interesting what you are saying about your groups. I am fed up with mine, too. WHen I started 18 months ago, they were a lovely bunch of ladies and all very supportive and we all got on well, although I always thought the consultant was a bit like a wet lettuce!! There was a big argument in group a couple of months ago and most of the "old guard" have not been seen since (although, I did agree with the other side of the argument, but it was all a bit awkward and undignified!! Shock ) I am losing the mojo to go along to the groups and hear the same people saying the same thing each week, and I always have felt that the consultant has favourites. The same people each week she will spend a lot of time asking questions, encouraging, etc., but people like me it seems just a glide over and pass on. Hmm

Groovee I am with you on where you are now!! I really want to lose more, but it had taken me from February to September to lose my last stone and I am now still 1.5lb away from it in the wrong direction since my holiday. I keep thinking I just need to plug away and it will start to come off again, but I am not convinced. I have considered doing a "Maintain" for a few months and hopefully my body will get used to being here, then when I re boot in a few months it will work again, IYSWIM. I am not sure if that is the answer, though. I am needing to have more SP days each week, more water, absolutely no diet drinks, more wheatbran/scanbran etc. I am finding I need to be far more restricted and that was the reason I loved SW, because of the lack of restriction on what I ate. If I feel restricted I know I will fall off the wagon big time and fall face first into carbs, chocolate, cake, bread, toast, butter........ and gain everything I have lost. I am not going to go back to being huge again!!!! If you find a solution please pass it on to me!! Smile

Have a good Sunday, everyone.

@ALemonyPea I normally do choc shot, but I’ve run out and keep forgetting. I’m waiting on Mango Greek Style mullers being on offer as that makes a lovely flavour too.

@PositiveAttitude my friend is the same hers has slowed. I’m having issues going to the loo. I need to go back to the dr as i’m on Daily laxatives anyway as my bowel doesn’t work. Also considering changing my rice to red rice as the fibre content is much higher.

Interesting about groups... maybe SW need a wee shake up as I get more from my 2 friends who are consultants and have over 60 people per class in their classes x

PA, my weight slowed down in November last year, and it took me until June to lose a stone and a bit. It was so frustrating, and like you I felt stuck in a rut at times.

Try switching up your B choice, have a few speedy B choices instead, so just 2 dark rye ryvita, an Alpen bar instead of 2, or stewed/dried fruit. I like to vary my B choice daily and it seems to help. I avoid bread though at all cost as gives me instant bloat. Miss bread though.

Sadly, smaller portions come into effect the more closer you are to target, and less snacking. I stopped snacking completely, don’t actually miss it and it does help.

This time of year is hard as well, so many parties and opportunities for food.

Welcome Fraggle :)

Friday was a bit syn-heavy for me as I saw a girlfriend I hadn't seen in months 😊 syn free since then and I have put some time into planning my weekly meals for this week and making sure there's plenty of speed food at every meal. Hope everyone has a great week 😊

Thanks, I had a great day yesterday. Today’s wasn’t as good as we unexpectedly needed to get lunch out as we were out a lot longer than expected with 2 hungry kids, ended up in kfc. I had the bbq beans & 3 mini fillets, I’m hopinh the beans were free and fillets about 10 syns?

ALemonyPea · 29/10/2017 16:37

BBQ beans are indeed free, and 3syns each for a mini fillet, so 9syns.

That's not bad at all!

Making some green soup (potato onion garlic and spinach) and it smells good. I think that the good smell is mainly the garlic.

Hi guys!
Not posted for a few days and I need to read up to catch up on all of your posts!!

Feel really disappointed, I had such a good week and only lost 1/2lb! Yea I know a loss is a loss but still... I was really looking forward to weigh in and finding out I’d lose 2-3lbs and get my stone award and slimmer of the week but no I didn’t!! Lol

So what are your tricks into keeping motivated and to help get a good loss??

I’m gonna give a couple of SP days ago starting tomorrow!! My plan is -

Breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 bacon, half tin of plum tomatoes

Lunch - chicken salad with mayo (syned)

Dinner - bolognese with courgetti spaghetti, cheese HEA, ww wrap (1st HEB) sprayed with garlic frylight as a fake garlic bread

Snacks - 2 hifi bars (2nd HEB), skyr yogurt with strawberries & raspberries and possible some more fruit if I’m feeling peckish lol

If all goes to plan I’ll end the day on just 1 syn!! What do u guys think??
TIA xxx

@Lubilu28 it does get disheartening. Every 4 weeks I gain through no fault of my own. I usually up my speed, lots of melon and strawberries and change my syns about too. Remember syns are part of balancing the plan out so plan to have at least 5 a day x

Trills · 30/10/2017 08:27

Every 4 weeks you say? Maybe it's the moon.

My consultant also says you shouldn't go below 5 syns on any day (but you can save up and move around the rest of them).

Yes Trills, since my surgery and being back on a natural cycle I gain weight every 4 weeks and lose it and more the following week.

Morning everyone! Happy belated birthday, Owlina 🎂

Had a catch-up read as I've been away all week. Lost 1.5 in group this morning so that's last week's gain dealt with.

Thanks for the slow cooker potatoes tips, Jo2217, I'll give them a try.

I find carbs can be addictive too. I know pasta and rice are free but I have made a conscious effort recently to have smaller portions.

We have had a new consultant since July and it has made such a difference to our group. The previous consultant was lovely, but not very inspiring, which at £4.95 a week meant some sessions felt wasted. Some weeks I had better advice from the folks on here and we're all amateurs, not trained consultants. Our new consultant has ruffled a few feathers and a lot of the old guard have gone. At first I found her a bit brash but now I think she's great. She makes sure everyone gets involved in the discussion to share ideas which is so much better than just being talked at.

Lubilu, aim to have 5 syns a day. You can’t have yoghurt on an SP day, so skyr is out I’m afraid. Also, try having one hifi bar instead of 2, as that’ll be classed as speed and great for an SP day. Good luck.

Party week this week, need some inspiration on what to make. Anyone want to offer suggestions?

PositiveAttitude · 30/10/2017 12:47

Lemony I am taking a roasted veg cous cous salad. For the last few weeks the group have been having this on-going discussion about which shop bought cous cous salad is the best for about 5 syns!! Shock so I am going to take my version which takes minutes to prepare, costs pence and syn free. (I may get a load of negative comments from some members of the group, but I dont care!!)

I have just received a text to say I have been nominated for the Miss Slinky! Grin Not feeling that slinky to be honest!!
