Hi

I joined last week. First time I have done SW. Anyone want to join me?

I weighed in (Tue) at 11 st 12.5lb (5'7" tall). I set my target for 1 stone, but would really like to get back down to 10 stone. Not sure this is doable before Christmas.

I started a new job 2 years a go and have put on 2 stone.

I am amazed how much free food their is. I don't think I have eaten so much fruit, veg or eggs in years!

Today I have had:

Breakfast: Branflakes and milk
Mid morning: A banana and 6 strawberies
Lunch: Rocket, sweet potato and feta salad with an ostrich steak (2 for £4.49 from Lidl, 157 cals and 2% fat), fat free yoghurt.

(Never had an ostrich steak before, it was delicious. It was in a Moroccan marinade)

Will probably have an omelette for tea.

I unusually weigh at least 2lb more in the evening as opposed to the morning, keep at it, I'm sure you'll have a great result next week x

ClickHip · 13/10/2017 19:58

Ooh do you Filo? Intresting.. That's good to know. feeling a bit more motivated now. Next week will be interesting then. Thanks Smile

TieGrr · 13/10/2017 20:34

Morning weight is always lighter for me as well Smile

Oldowl · 13/10/2017 20:39

Nj, I have a sweet tooth in the evening and found that options hot chocolate helped.

The other thing I now do is make a kilner jar of overnight oats with skyr yoghurt, oats, frozen berries and a chopped apple. I eat about two thirds for breakfast and put the rest back in the fridge. After my evening meal, when I fancy something sweet, I eat the rest.

Any room for me? 😊
I rejoined yesterday. Friday the 13th seemed like a good a day as any lol.
I'm 5' 5" currently 11s 4.5lb. Target weight is 9s 10lb. I have a 2 year old and my target will still put me a stone above my weight pre-baby but I used to weight train a lot.
I have also set up an Instagram account to keep me motivated. My username is swlosethefatrunthemiles if anyone is interested.

Hi folks. How's your weekends going? Im trying to get some food ready for lunches at work. Ive made a green lentil and sausage thingy for teas (and will freeze somecas it made loads) I'm going to make a leek and smoked ham quiche but was wondering about thinly slicing some celariac (10p in reduced section in supermarket Grin) and roasting it as a base. Not sure if this may end in disaster. Anyone tried anything similar???

Flutterby81 · 16/10/2017 07:28

oneleftinthenest · 16/10/2017 13:25

Hi Flutterby
For tonight I've marinated prawns in 1tbl spoon each of soya sauce , balsamic , honey
I will stir fry with veg and bake curly kale with chilli & sea salt in the oven then add more soy sauce it's 2 Syn for the honey , I also look on you tube for recipe ideas or on the sw app , love trying the homemade sauces , hope this is helpful

Flutterby81 · 16/10/2017 18:27

Thank you oneleft that sound delicious il def try that.

FiloPasty · 17/10/2017 09:23

Weigh in tomorrow for me and I think it’s likely that I will have gained slightly, I’d had some good days but also had my anniversary, a girls night and I went back to my usual Sat take away and best part of a bottle of wine :(
Overall I’m definitely making better choices but feel I’ve let myself down a bit. It’s also half term so don’t get a minute to myself.
I’m going to make a big batch of soup and try to have a syn free day. I might even attempt an exercise dvd tonight, that’s another where I really need to start making some strides.

TieGrr · 17/10/2017 10:34

Flutterby - have you signed up to the SW website? There's tons of recipes on there and you wouldn't actually know they're SW. Decent sized portions as well. Myself and DP usually cook a portion for 4, and keep the second portion to have the next night.

Filo - best of luck tomorrow. Even if you have gained, weigh in is a great chance to just draw a line under it and start again.

TieGrr · 17/10/2017 10:37

Was housebound yesterday because of Ophelia, and took all my willpower not to eat all around me. Went half a Syn over but can live with that.

It's slowly dawning on me that this is not just a short-term plan to lose weight. I know that's kind of drilled into us in group but there's a difference between hearing something and actually understanding it. I was so close to target earlier this year but gained nearly all of the weight back. I guess I have to accept that watching my weight is going to be a constant task in future, even when I get down to where I want to be.

MountainGoats · 17/10/2017 12:35

May I please join, I went to my first weigh in on the 12th and was 12stone. I want to lose 2 stone. I have found it easy as you really can eat a lot of food, I've made smash Chicken strips to graze on through the day ( I'm more savory than sweet ). I just need some more ideas for snacking, I have ham but its so boring - I got the wafer thin too so its not the best.

This is the first time at SW and so far I'm pleasantly surprised!

FiloPasty · 17/10/2017 13:54

Thanks TieGrr you’re right, I just need to keep with it, I can see that it works.
I bought a cookbook at class and am loving trying the recipes.
I’m mainly snacking on fruit, I find if I plan my meals I eat enough to carry me through.
You can use the ham to line a cupcake tray MountainGoats and then make a veggie egg mix and bake to make mini quiches, welcome by the way.
I’ll let you all know how I do in the morning!

Flutterby81 · 17/10/2017 14:03

Oh thanks tiegrr I have but completely forgot il have to have a look on there im loving the pinch of nom site some lovely recipes on there. It's mostly the days I'm at work I'm struggling but thank you for your help Smile

Oldowl · 17/10/2017 22:30

Well done OldOwl, I’m feeling nervous about the weigh in tomorrow, plus I have my Mum coming for the weekend, she’s supposed to be on plan too but she does like a glass of wine!
I hope I’ve at least maintained tomorrow and will try and be good this week!

FiloPasty · 18/10/2017 10:55

Lost 1/2lb I’m happy with that as I didn’t have a great week. Sat at home with the newSW magazine and a cup of tea going to plan the next few meals.

oneleftinthenest · 18/10/2017 11:57

Did a few sp days this week , lost 3lbs , so pleased , I made sure to read on the app how to do them , very pleased with that , good luck every one

FiloPasty · 18/10/2017 12:29

Well done one left, I’ve not looked at that yet, how does it work?

oneleftinthenest · 18/10/2017 13:32

Thank you Filo , you have half your plate protein and half speed foods , one A choice & 2 B choices , up to 15 sins per day , it says don't have yoghurts or potatoes, pasta etc as sins , if you do this a couple days a week it helps with weight loss , read up when you get chance as once I did I understood it better

ClickHip · 18/10/2017 20:12

Well done one left! I've weigh in tomorrow. Hopefully an improvement on the maintain from last week. I can go to the morning class which is my usual so I'm hoping for a loss .

It's our taster tomorrow as well. We've eaten nearly everything in the house this week. I've got a melon a lemon, an aubergine an d a tub of Muller light. It's not looking good Blush

Raisedbyguineapigs · 19/10/2017 21:24

I'm super happy as I lost 4lb this week. That follows a week of staying the same and a week where I put on 2lb. I feel a bit like I'm still not doing it properly though! I was thinking of doing some SP days this week too. Is all the info on the website? It seems more complicated than I first thought. I didn't realise all the bits about no yoghurt even as syns etc. I lost weight befiore quite well doing low carb, and this seems like that, but a bit easier re fibre etc.

TieGrr · 19/10/2017 23:42

Down a lb and a half.

Slightly disappointed with it tbh, which feels silly, but just going to use this to spur me on to do better next week.

Flutterby81 · 20/10/2017 07:32

Well done Raiseddby and tiegrr
