Hi

I joined last week. First time I have done SW. Anyone want to join me?

I weighed in (Tue) at 11 st 12.5lb (5'7" tall). I set my target for 1 stone, but would really like to get back down to 10 stone. Not sure this is doable before Christmas.

I started a new job 2 years a go and have put on 2 stone.

I am amazed how much free food their is. I don't think I have eaten so much fruit, veg or eggs in years!

Today I have had:

Breakfast: Branflakes and milk
Mid morning: A banana and 6 strawberies
Lunch: Rocket, sweet potato and feta salad with an ostrich steak (2 for £4.49 from Lidl, 157 cals and 2% fat), fat free yoghurt.

(Never had an ostrich steak before, it was delicious. It was in a Moroccan marinade)

Will probably have an omelette for tea.

Been good today and even went out for a cycle in the wind!

DD is now trying to get us all to go out for an Indian tonight. We will be going out in Tuesday as we are visiting my mother and DH birthday is on Wednesday, so another meal out. Arghhh, SW and family commitments don't mix!

Did you have an Indian oldOwl? I think plain rice and the dry chicken tikka aren’t too bad.
I’ve had my Mum here, she’s supposed to be on plan but has made up her own rules, no wonder it’s taken her so long to lose weight on SW.
I’ve over indulged with wine but have until Weds weigh in to get super on track. I really want a loss each week and it’s really spurring me on.
Had a pedicure lately, I’ve been using my terribly chipped toes to talk myself out of going to yoga at the gym.

No they got a take away and I made SW chicken noodle curry from the magazine. It was very nice. My OH said he would have preferred mine rather than the greasy curry in hindsight.

Well done oldowl I could have done with your willpower earlier in week when I caved and had Indian! Sts for me today though and today is the return of my willpower 9 weeks until Christmas Day and I'd like to lose 1-2 pounds every week. So time I started doing this 100% no cheat days Smile

Carolejane · 23/10/2017 08:50

I forgot 100ml of skimmed milk

Carolejane · 23/10/2017 08:50

I feel loved me agave messed up and eaten to much

Carolejane · 23/10/2017 08:52

Sorry that should of said I feel like I have eaten to much, have I ,

FiloPasty · 23/10/2017 09:01

That’s fine CaroleJane the weetabix is only half of your healthy B do you can still have a slice of whole meal bread later, you still have loads of milk allowance left if using skimmed milk, fruit is speed free. Teaspoon of honey is 2 syns I think. I often use honey on porridge I think it’s a good syn to use. That’s a good breakfast!

Flutterby81 · 23/10/2017 09:06

Sounds like a nice breakfast Smile

Hi folks. Well I lost 2lbs this week Ann's got my 2 1/2 stone award which I was really pleased about. We had taster week - Just done the Linda McCartney rosemary sausages for tea. They were delish. I'm even making some scotch eggs with them as we speak. New fave I think Smile

ClickHip · 23/10/2017 19:01

Amazing Click hip that’s fab!
I’ve got weigh in tomorrow morning!

Made a huge syn free lamb stew today and only syns were for a highlights hot chocolate 2

ClickHip · 24/10/2017 22:12

That sounds delish filo. What cut of lamb did you use? I've been missing lamb but I didn't miss it enough to use syns on it. Free lamb stew however sounds grand.

FiloPasty · 24/10/2017 22:30

Neck fillet, I made my own up Recipe (browned lamb in a pan first but put fillets in whole)
All thrown in the slow cooker
I made huge batch so loads left
Garlic, onion, celery, carrot, parsnip, Swede, cabbage, potato, salt, pepper, mixed herbs, sprinkle cinnamon, and lamb stock from a stock pot. Cooked on low for about 6 hours, husband and the kids had loads of bread with it but I was happy without :)

FiloPasty · 24/10/2017 22:31

There is a SW recipe online for slow cooked Lb Navarin which is more tomatoey and spiced which is also delicious.
I think I’ve def lost a 1lb or more do should get my first 1/2 stone sticker :) fingers crossed anyway!

FiloPasty · 24/10/2017 22:32

Would love to see a pic of your scotch egg!

ClickHip · 24/10/2017 22:58

I'll try that. Think you've just sorted my friday night tea Grin

I shall photograph my last scotch egg (then try and work out how on earth i put the photo on here). I had 2 today at work for brunch. They were lovely, and so easy to make. Last one is for tomorrow. Will definitely be making more.

I've eaten loads this week. I've stuck to plan but because I've got my cooking head on I've eaten too much. I've been Christmas full most nights this week. I blame partly Linda McCartney and partly myself for having it large with rice pudding 2 nights this week already.

Hope weigh in goes well for you tomorrow filo Smile

Yum with the egg inside? How do you do it, make it into a small ball and just crack a raw egg into it? Then cover the hope with Sausage meat?

Oldowl · 25/10/2017 11:50

As it is half term and I'm off work, I am going to go to a morning weigh-in tomorrow. According to my scales, which usually read the same as the ones at SW, I am only 1 lb off target in the morning, pre breakfast.

I have been good this week but just about to go out to lunch for OH's birthday. I have also been for a 40 minute run/walk each morning. I say run/walk, it is more like interval training as I cannot sustain running for more than a few minutes. I run for 5 lamp posts and then walk 3 lamp posts in a 3 mile loop near where I live.

I made a lovely chilli yesterday with turkey mince and loads of veg. The chicken noodle curry has also gone down well with the family.

Hope you weigh-in went well Filo. x

Only lost 1lb I really thought it was more, but hey ho it’s a loss! Kids are back at school next week and I really need to get started on actually exercising!

oneleftinthenest · 25/10/2017 16:58

1/2 pound off for me today , was hoping for more but a loss is a loss . I didn't do as much exercise as I would normally do this past 7 days . Back on track now , just been out with my friend and her son for a 2 hour walk . Feel great . Good luck to everyone still to weigh in and well done to all those putting in positive changes .
