Hi

I joined last week. First time I have done SW. Anyone want to join me?

I weighed in (Tue) at 11 st 12.5lb (5'7" tall). I set my target for 1 stone, but would really like to get back down to 10 stone. Not sure this is doable before Christmas.

I started a new job 2 years a go and have put on 2 stone.

I am amazed how much free food their is. I don't think I have eaten so much fruit, veg or eggs in years!

Today I have had:

Breakfast: Branflakes and milk
Mid morning: A banana and 6 strawberies
Lunch: Rocket, sweet potato and feta salad with an ostrich steak (2 for £4.49 from Lidl, 157 cals and 2% fat), fat free yoghurt.

(Never had an ostrich steak before, it was delicious. It was in a Moroccan marinade)

Will probably have an omelette for tea.

Down to 10 st 9.5lb on my scales this morning. First time I have seen a 9 on the scales. Had a good day yesterday. Got the munchies in the evening but had a hot chocolate and resisted the crisps.

Off swimming today. Should do 40 lengths and will definitely feel much better. Went Christmas shopping yesterday and walked into town and back...it was soooo cold. Made a chick pea, sweet potato and butter nut squash chilli to warm up when I got home.

WE CAN DO THIS! Nothing tastes as good as slim feels.

We can do this! I just need to be more organized with my meals!

thisgirlrides · 27/11/2017 13:27

1.5lbs off for me so that's 8lbs in the 6 weeks I've been doing it. Slow progress but I'm already starting to feel the difference in clothes and not dreading Christmas party clothes quite so much! Oh, and I'm finally back to 10st something ok so 10.13 but still!) which I haven't seen for the past 18 months!

thisgirlrides · 27/11/2017 13:34

ETA meal planning back on tracks so this week I'm having
salmon, mixed veg & dirty rice
chicken noodle soup
Out for dinner one night (syn saving for that)
Chilli con carne
sw fish & chips

For lunches I've got a choice of 2 soups (parsnip or butternut squash) poached eggs and spinach on toast, beans on sweet potato with salad or mushroom omelette & salad.

My next mini target is 10.7 (6lbs to go) before 2018 which in reality means prechristmas so 1.5lb a week which will be hard as we've got quite a few dinners & drinks out.

Oldowl · 28/11/2017 20:58

2lb off this week. Now 1.5lb below target. Will try to get to the bottom of my target by Christmas.

Well done thisgirlrides. x

Urrghh 2lb on but totally deserved!

Raisedbyguineapigs · 01/12/2017 18:07

I put 1 lb on this week. I thought Id been really careful but there was a birthday cake in the house that I kept picking at, so that probably did for me. Doesnt bode well for christmas, when there will be a ton of cake and biscuits and alcohol hanging round! I'm out tonight to a bring a dish party and I made some Slimming World Bhajis but they are so unbelieveably bland, I don't think I can bear to take them! I might have to eat them as a punishment as they are free!

PlaymobilPirate · 02/12/2017 23:28

3 off this week - despite a big lump of cake!

However since getting weighed yesterday morning I've had an afternoon tea, a night out on the gin, a bag of crisps in the pub and TWO Greggs sausage rolls as a drunken midnight feast 😣

Back on track though... made overnight scan bran (but hard core on a hangover mind) before I went out otherwise DP would have been sent out for a McDonald's breakfast for me!

FiloPasty · 03/12/2017 09:11

It’s such a hard time of year isn’t it. I’m so happy to be in loads of my old clothes. Need to keep it up though!

Oldowl · 03/12/2017 09:58

Out at a drinks party last night in a stunning country house. I was driver, so only had half a glass of champagne, then a couple of glasses of non-alcoholic punch and 3 nibbly bits.

I am 10st 7.5 this morning which is 2lb below target. I am going to have to wear a jumper to group!

I need to lower my target. Do I do it before Christmas and go to morning weigh-ins or after the New Year when I have to go to evening groups?

Does anyone know, if my old target was 10st 12.5 and I now weigh at the bottom of target 10st 9.5, can my new target (being 7lb less) be 10st 5.5 or does it have to be 10st 2.5?

PlaymobilPirate · 04/12/2017 07:49

Oldowl I've not got a clue about target setting (mine is still 3 stone away 😭) but bumping in case someone else can help.

I'm trying to claw back from the weekend... plan for today is

  • overnight quark and berries for breakfast
  • soup and a scan bran for lunch
  • stir fry for tea
  • lots of water and green tea
Oldowl · 05/12/2017 19:21

1.5lb off today, so right at the bottom of target (now 10st 9.5lb).

I asked my consultant about lowering my target. She suggested if I wanted to lose more, do so then be 'out of target' for a week (not pay) then then the following week pay and reset the target if I am still under.

Target has to be at least 7lb under your previous target weight (not 7lb under the bottom of your last target). So I only have to lose 4lb to hit target again!

Hope everyone has had a good week. x

Oh yes, I got my Club 10 award... and sticker!

Hoping I've clawed back from last weekend. I've had gallons if green tea (which I'm not even keen on!) and loads of speed. 1st 6.5 down and hoping I can get 2 st off by Xmas! Weigh in tomorrow morning!

I'm starting to really enjoy going to class - I sit with the same little group every week and we're getting to the nice chatty stage (I'm crap at making friends usually) and it's usually a good laugh!

Lubilu28 · 08/12/2017 07:43

Hi can I join you??

I joined SW 6th September and so far I have lost 1st 10 1/2lbs and I’m aiming to get my 2st award by xmas.

I feel like I should check in now as lots of Christmas dos and nights out, I don’t want to derail!! 😱 x

Raisedbyguineapigs · 08/12/2017 09:24

I lost 1 1/2lbs which is Oak but I just keep losing and putting on and hovering around the 12st mark. Im thinking maybe thats my set point and I need to ramp it up a bit this week as its been a long time since I've been under that. I quite like group too. It's quite nice to be forced to sit down somewhere for an hour!

Oldowl · 08/12/2017 20:31

Welcome Lubilu.

I like group aswell. It is a good laugh and I always learn something. Last week what Ramen is (after a member lost 5lb in a week eating it). Our consultant had no idea either; apparently it is in the SW comfort eating cook book. This week I learnt what a raclette is. Class really can be an education!

In a fortnight, class is holding a Christmas party. It is supposed to be a real hoot.

Not had a good day, due to making mince pies with my children then giving into temptation!

OP posts:
PlaymobilPirate · 08/12/2017 21:07

Just googled SW ramen noodles... looks lovely!

I maintained this week... I'm gutted (I was a greedy pig at the weekend but thought I'd clawed it back).

Looks like my 2 stone by Xmas won't happen now - still determined to try though

Raisedbyguineapigs · 12/12/2017 17:50

I was hoping to get to my club 10 by Christmas, but that's looking unlikely too. I'm still hoping for 1st by Christmas. I'm thinking I might change tack in the new year, really cut down on sugar and use my syns for fats instead. It's the sugar cravings that get me every time. I look at how other people eat and they can have one slice of cake or biscuit whereas once I start, I have to have more and more throughout the day.

FiloPasty · 12/12/2017 19:54

I’ve just been so busy (the 5 weeksbefore xmas super crazy for me work wise) that I’ve been terrible, I’m away over Xmas anyway so am in two minds about whether to weigh in for the sake of it or just come back after Xmas.
Does anyone know how it works?
How many weeks until you can restart?

Raisedbyguineapigs · 13/12/2017 21:57

I'm away over Christmas too. I'm going to weigh in this week just to see where I am and aim to not go too far over. My plan is to log my weight on the online app. What the reality will be is anyone's guess!

Oldowl · 14/12/2017 12:46

Sitting here stunned... lost 4lb this week and hit 1 and a half stone lost since Sept. I reset my target to 10 st 5.5, so hit that too and was slimmer of the week.

Chuffed with 3 stickers in one week! Just have to be good over Christmas.

Hope everyone else is doing OK. It is so hard with Christmas dos and party food temping you at every turn. x

I lost 1/2 lb and got my 1 stone award at long last!

Oldowl · 14/12/2017 19:54

Well done, Raisedbyguineapigs, it is a lovely feeling to get over that 1 stone mark. xx

OP posts:
Raisedbyguineapigs · 14/12/2017 20:28

Thanks! Its a bit annoying that its taken 3 months when others have done stones but they do say 1-2lb a week is advisable so I'm being philosophical! My aim is to be the same on 2nd January so even if I put a bit on ov er Christmas I'll be the same after the Christmas period.
