Hi

I joined last week. First time I have done SW. Anyone want to join me?

I weighed in (Tue) at 11 st 12.5lb (5'7" tall). I set my target for 1 stone, but would really like to get back down to 10 stone. Not sure this is doable before Christmas.

I started a new job 2 years a go and have put on 2 stone.

I am amazed how much free food their is. I don't think I have eaten so much fruit, veg or eggs in years!

Today I have had:

Breakfast: Branflakes and milk
Mid morning: A banana and 6 strawberies
Lunch: Rocket, sweet potato and feta salad with an ostrich steak (2 for £4.49 from Lidl, 157 cals and 2% fat), fat free yoghurt.

(Never had an ostrich steak before, it was delicious. It was in a Moroccan marinade)

Will probably have an omelette for tea.

Pound and a half off for me. Six in total.

FiloPasty · 25/10/2017 23:51

Well done TieGrr!

I made lamb stew yesterday but chicken amatriciana sounds good.

I might had had a glass and a half of wine tonight and a piece of cheese.... well one more week till weigh in!

Oldowl · 26/10/2017 12:14

4lb off for me today and slimmer of the week!!!!

I think it helped that I went to a morning weigh-in. Off work next week so will do the same.

12.5 lb off since Sept. 1.5lb to go until I hit my target. I will keep going for free and see if I can lose a few more pounds to be at the bottom of my target range in time for Christmas.

Big push next week to get the last 1.5lb. Usually when I am really good, I only lose 0.5lb!!

That is brilliant OldOwl! Thrilled for you :)
How much exercise have you been doing? That’s my downfall (that and the booze I imagine)
I’m thrilled to be seeing a ten on the scales in the morning I’ve been over 11amd a half stone for ages!

Oldowl · 26/10/2017 12:36

I have been going for a morning walk/run for 45 mins and an evening one of 30 mins.

My scales said 10st 13.5lb this morning (no clothes) and 11st when I got to SW (clothed!). I was ready for a coffee and some overnight oats!

Well done Oldowl! You'll have to let us know what happens when you hit target - hopefully the rest of us won't be too long behind you Grin

Have two nights out planned this week. Thinking of doing SP on the other days to make up for the extra food and drink.

ClickHip · 26/10/2017 18:34

Well done everyone. I havnt had chance to get to weigh in. I'm feeling ok about it though. Will have to make sure I stay focused this week though.

Filo, the scotch eggs, I defrosted the sausages. hard boiled the eggs then peeled the shell off when they were cool enough to handle. For each egg I used 1 1/2 sausages. Flattened the sausage meat, put the egg on top then just moulded it round. Like a play doh session really! Fry light and on oven try. I did gas 6 for about 25 mins i think.

The sausages are on offer in Sainsbury's at the moment. £1.50 . Had some for tea (again ) tonight. Blush

Well after a half term filled with trying to find a halfway reasonable fast food restaurant meal and a few too many skinny cappuccinos, I've put on 1/2 lb. I'm not too unhappy with that, although I probably should be. I seem to spend most of the week not being strict then pulling it back in the last couple of days, so I'm always happy that I haven't put on more!

Flutterby81 · 27/10/2017 15:19

Will have to try scotch eggs they look really nice.

ClickHip · 28/10/2017 20:14

Im going to make the american style pancakes in the morning. I've ordered a silicone waffle mould. Going to try make waffles as well. I think the mixture is more or less the same for both. Just trying to make some new things to keep it interesting . I can be a bit lazy and make a lot of the same food, then get bored and want to start sneaking stuff in that's not on plan. Just trying to avoid doing that really.

FiloPasty · 28/10/2017 21:39

I’ve had a piece of cheese, a packet of hoops and 2 beers tonight :(
I measured myself this morning though and have lost 2inches on my waist and my chest (hips not changed much) that’s in only 4 weeks.

ClickHip · 28/10/2017 21:58

That's good going on the inch loss filo.
Hang in there with it. Don't be too hard on yourself for going off plan. It's a marathon not a sprint etc...WinkSmile

FiloPasty · 28/10/2017 22:07

Absolutely, I think I’m basically doing a hybrid of my old ways, Slimming World and the 5:2 as I always have a couple of really good days. I’ll get there, I’m happy that I’m 7.5lb down in 4 weeks :)

Raisedbyguineapigs · 28/10/2017 23:15

clickhip are they the ones with the yoghurt and oats? They are one of my favourites now. I bought a waffle maker and have them topped with fruit and yoghurt. Kids and DH have normal ones and I have those!

Flutterby81 · 30/10/2017 10:44

2lb off this morning feels good to be on track Grin

FiloPasty · 30/10/2017 13:37

Well done Flutterby it feels good moving forward each week doesn’t it, I think I’m finally ready to start doing some exercise too. My weigh in on Wednesday.

FiloPasty · 01/11/2017 23:11

I lost 2lb this week really surprised so a total of 9.5lb down in 5 weeks I’m totally delighted :)
Got a big PPI rebate today and celebrated with wine s d Chinese but hey ho!

Oldowl · 02/11/2017 08:18

Well done Filo on your loss. 9.5lb is great!

I have my weigh-in this morning. I have stuck to plan all week and only need to lose 1.5lb to hit target. However, yesterday, according to my scales, I had put on a pound so I had a 'next to no food day'.

B small potion of overnight oats
L half potion of SW meal and salad
T other half potion of SW meal and salad
5 cups of coffee

Weighing in at 10st 12.25lb, so when dressed will be 10st 13lb (half pound off target).

I have been making sweet potato crisps this morning for the taster. Looked easy, but they took some watching as they burnt so easily. Tried one, they tasted delicious...but anything tastes good when it is weigh-in day!

FiloPasty · 02/11/2017 09:45

Ooh good luck we’ll done at getting so close to target!

Oldowl · 02/11/2017 11:43

Blimey....I hit target!!! Bang on 10st 12.5lb.

SO CHUFFED! Thank you to everyone who has helped by sharing their journeys on this thread. I am going to try and lose some more; another half stone would be good.

It shows that SW does work as I have lost a stone in 8 weeks.

So pleased for you Old Owl I weighed in at 10st13 yesterday I’m 5ft 6 I wanted to lose a stone by Christmas but 2 stone overall.
I’m really enjoying it actually, my general mood is better as I really feel a sense of a achievement each week seeing the scales go down.

TieGrr · 02/11/2017 20:06

Well done Oldowl - delighted for you! Please keep posting and let us know how maintenance goes.

Another half lb down for me which I am delighted with - had two nights out this week and wasn't sure what to expect.

Little bit of a grumble though. Two new members joined this evening and one of them was asking me about the programme before telling me I didn't have a pick on me and acted shocked when I said I wanted to lose another stone. I know she meant it nicely but I know my body and I know when I need to lose weight because it affects my whole life and my mental health in particular. I need to be there as much as anyone else.

FiloPasty · 02/11/2017 21:04

Totally there is a gorgeous target member in our group, she obviously goes because it helps her (I get the impression she’s been at target a long time) she’s older too, but you often see people commenting etc.

carringtonm · 02/11/2017 21:05

Is anyone doing SW whilst pregnant? Had a 1lb gain last week but unsure if it’s pregnancy-related or not? Had lost it again this week though.

Just a bit unsure what would be considered the norm for losing weight when pregnant - should I expect to have some gains or can I still maintain a consistent loss each week?

I’m only 9 weeks pregnant at the moment but am definitely starting to see changes around my tummy, and have been very bloated.

Raisedbyguineapigs · 03/11/2017 08:16

I'm really disheartened. I've put on 1/2 on for 2 weeks running. We've had biscuits and cake in the house because of visitors but I don't think I've gone mad. I think maybe I lost weight at the beginning while not being that strict so got a bit complacent. I'm not sure what to do to get on track again.
