Lemony I've been wanting to ask you for ages but was too embarrassed what is pease pudding?Blush

ALemonyPea · 24/11/2016 20:25

It's a northern delicacy Grin. It's basically yellow split peas soaked in brine or stock. It goes like a spread. It's yummy, free and full of protein. I often eat it straight out the tub Blush

LavenderRains · 24/11/2016 21:39

I also love pickled gherkins! I didn't even think about them being a speed food. Bonus!

Groovester · 24/11/2016 21:55

Interesting re: pickles wth shepherds pie etc. I tend to eat them with cold meat and salad or with my baked potato.
Another 4lbs off tonight. Got my 1st stone award as well as slimmer of the week AND month. 1stone 2 lbs off in 3 weeks. When I started I gave myself an interim target of a stone and a half off for Christmas. Almost there....(we won't talk about all of the extra stones I need to lose overall to get back down to a healthy size...)

ALemonyPea · 24/11/2016 22:12

Well done Groovster!

LavenderRains · 24/11/2016 22:31

Fab groove StarChocolate

Groovester · 24/11/2016 22:37

Thanks guys. Honestly, I love SW. For the first time ever I feel like I will be able to sustain this. Feeling so positive and physically a lot better too, even at this early stage. Long may it continue....for all of us.

emwithme · 24/11/2016 22:58

2 lbs off for me today, back to 1/2 lb over target. I'd like to be at the bottom by Christmas.

Diet coke chicken for tea tonight, ably made by DH. Was so nice, even the GirlCat thought so Grin

Babysitting for DN tomorrow night, have packed my bag of leftovers lovely things, and then off to the Midlands Saturday to visit family (so that'll be my "day off plan" this week).

Aah lovely puss.

I'm with you groovester this is the longest I've ever stuck to a diet and I'm loving it.
I've lost 1 stone 12.5 in 7 weeks. Today someone noticed my weight loss at work Smile

Groovester · 25/11/2016 20:18

Just had the most awesome dinner using the mayflower curry sauce from home bargains. Added in chicken, peas, mushrooms and onions alongside a wee bit rice and a few SW chips. More than perhaps I should've eaten but so much better than a takeaway!

OwlinaTree · 25/11/2016 20:46

I had the Iceland chicken and sag curry for tea, it was lush! Really felt like a takeaway.

ALemonyPea · 25/11/2016 21:21

Never tried Diet Coke chicken. Doesn't appeal to me, neither does the Fanta one.

Had chilli con carne tonight, was delicious. Could eat it all over again.

Groovester · 25/11/2016 23:44

I was very dubious about Diet Coke chicken and when I first made it, it looked disgusting when I poured in the soda. However, it is really tasty and husband and kids enjoyed it too.

PositiveAttitude · 26/11/2016 19:49

Where is everyone today? Hmm

I think I am addicted to satsumas. I bought a big box of them earlier in the week and I am having about 4 a day. I suppose its better than a chocolate addiction.

Has everyone voted for the Hi Fi bars? I voted mint, how about you?

LavenderRains · 26/11/2016 20:59

I'm here! Everyone is having a kebab and I'm having a jacket spud with gammon. I'm also eating loads of satsumas! They're lovely at the moment.
Where are we voting for the hi fi bars?

emwithme · 26/11/2016 21:05

Yes, I voted mint too (it's on the SW website Lavender a choice between mint and coconut to be a permanent bar along with double choc, choc orange, rocky road and the newly-lightened salted caramel).

Having a cheat day today. Was supposed to be going to the Midlands to see family but everyone is snotty so that didn't happen. White bread sandwich for lunch, pie and chips for tea (was fucking epic)

Back on it tomorrow though...

LavenderRains · 26/11/2016 21:20

Ooh pie and chips! Yum
I will vote now. Mint I think, although not tried coconut Confused
got some night shifts this week which are always tough food wise, I just crave junk!

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 26/11/2016 22:34

What exactly is a hifi bar? Whatever it is mint would not get my vote, I don't like mint flavoured anything.

Cheat day here too (Pizza Hut). Back to it tomorrow.

ALemonyPea · 26/11/2016 22:35

I voted mint, I could easily do a week of SP days eating 4 of those bad boys a day.

My wanky BIL is here this weekend, have spent all day Christmas shopping with him in tow, and then we went for a family pre Christmas meal as he isn't coming up again before Christmas (inwardly shouting woohoo at this). I've saved all my syns for tonight, and didn't use them all, even better! Probably because I didn't drink.

Mmmm pie, I love pie, it's one of the foods I miss. Too high in syns to justify a weekly thing.

FaithAscending · 26/11/2016 23:16

Fecking hi-fi bars all have wheat in them so none for me!

LavenderRains · 26/11/2016 23:33

I can't see anywhere on the slimming world site to vote for the buggers! I've only ever bought the mint and rocky road. They're ok for emergencies but I can live without them. Would rather have a curly wurlyGrin

PositiveAttitude · 27/11/2016 05:57

I think the voting was only for something like 48 hours and has probably finished now.

WhoKnows HiFi bars are a slimming world branded bar that is sort of like a cereal bar, but a lot nicer. They can be used for your HE B and really satisfy my chocolate cravings. Unfortunately they are only available from SW groups, which I think is a bit mean of SW. They should be available online for those doing it that way.

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 27/11/2016 06:04

Ah thanks. I'd never be able to get through the day without a savoury HExB (I have rye bread toast) so I probably wouldn't use them anyway.

Grumpy this morning, DH's snoring woke me at 5 and I haven't been able to get back to sleep and have got to spend most of the day at a sports tournament watching DS which I only found out about at 10 last night so all today's plans areout the window. Plus entering week 4 of no boiler.

Groovester · 27/11/2016 11:15

Beef in the slow cooker for dinner later. To be served with carrots, mashed swede and oxo roasties. Has anyone made them before? Any tips? Hungry already Grin

MollyRedskirts · 27/11/2016 13:48

The hifi voting thing is still up, I've just voted. I love the coconut ones but the mint just edged them out for me. I wish they'd get rid of the bland choc orange so we could keep the mint and coconut.

0.5lb on for me this week, but that's nothing compared to what I deserved. Blush

My main problem is lack of energy to cook. DH gets in late when he's working and by the time the kids are in bed, it's getting on for 9pm before I've even started cooking and I just want to go to bed. It's too easy to order a takeaway. I need to think of some strategies I can actually stick to.
