Yay 3lb off (over 2 weeks). I'm chuffed with that. Means I'm under the 13st mark and only 2lb off my stone!

LavenderRains · 23/11/2016 17:54

2.5lb off for me this week. If I can lose 1.5lb next week I will have lost 2 stone in 8 weeks.
I've surprised myself. I thought I would have given up by now! Still got a few stone to go tho.

Buttwing · 23/11/2016 19:08

1.5lbs for me too!! Can I join the club?Grin

I'm just about to go out for dps birthday. I was going to drive but the place I'm going to has a fancy arsed cocktail bar so he's persuaded me not to diet sabotager! anyway I'm really looking forward to it but so much the school run in the morning with a wooly headWink

Mummyme87 · 23/11/2016 19:56

Arghhh.. 1lb loss. I can't bloody get back into this. I don't know why either as I want it so much 😖 Desperate to get to my stone award

LavenderRains · 23/11/2016 20:19

mummy nothing wrong with a lb
have you seen what a lb of butter looks like? That's a lot of body fat. Don't be hard on yourself, it's a loss!Flowers

OwlinaTree · 23/11/2016 20:20

Well done on the losses. 1lb is good though mummy, it's all in the right direction. What loss were you expecting/hoping for?

Groovester · 23/11/2016 22:43

Quick question if you don't mind lovely people...
Do pickled onions and pickled beetroot (from jars) count as free or speed foods? (Praying for speed...)
Thanks.

emwithme · 23/11/2016 23:34

mummy a pound a week is 3 stone 10 lbs a year.
groovester pickled onions and beetroot are definitely speed. (I am having a phase of sweet pickled onions now)

0.4kg (0.8lb) off today, which sees me break through the 90kg mark Smile. I'm aiming for 1lb a week and have not been very strict this week so I'm happy with that.

OwlinaTree · 24/11/2016 08:01

Well done whoknows!

Groovester · 24/11/2016 08:57

Well done whoknows!

em, you have made my day with that information. Yippee!

WI later on tonight. Still aiming for 2lb to hit my first stone...

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 24/11/2016 09:35

Groovester - I too love pickled onions but haven't had any recently because they really only go with bread or crackers and cheese in my mind. I love making them (made a huge jar last week and have several jars of pickled cucamelons from the summer) but they are not getting used. I also have a huge box full of onions from the allotment that were intended for caramelised onion chutney but I dread to think how many syns that would have Sad

OrianaBanana · 24/11/2016 11:40

We always have pickles with shepherds/cottage pie or corned beef hash, is that an option? Or with a ploughmans lunch or just wrapped in ham x

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 24/11/2016 11:49

Hmm, we're having Shepherds Pie tonight, it's not a combination that would have occurred to me TBH, although a roast beef dinner is not complete without a dish of sliced onions and cucumber in malt vinegar so I don't see why not. Corned beef hash is on the "only if it was the last food on earth" list though! A ploughmans lunch is bread and cheese, so I've been avoiding, although it is a firm favourite.

OrianaBanana · 24/11/2016 11:57

You can use HExB for bread and HExA (and/or syns) for cheese, or have an SP day and have two HexBs...

We've always had pickles with shepherds pie though it's not common down here, wonder if it's a northern thing. They go well with the sort of creamy blandness of the mash and gravy. Useful for making up the third speed too.

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 24/11/2016 12:06

Thanks, but a ploughmans with only HexA and b would be an almost impossible test of willpower for me, I love bread and cheese so much that I just can't stop at the portion sizes, or for that matter at 15 syns worth. Better to avoid completely. Also I need the HEXs for my breakfast and my coffee milk.

LittleOyster · 24/11/2016 14:04

First weigh in last night for many, many months - gained 9lbs, which I am trying not to get too despondent about.

First day back on plan today. Had some of those Heck chicken sausages for lunch. A bit dry but only 0.5 syns each, so I was happy. Lean meat and veggies for tea.

WhoKnowsWhere, I am with you on the ploughman's thing. Am actually thinking of just cutting out cheese as I find it almost impossible to stop at 30/40g...

Well done every one who lost weight this week. It's so encouraging to hear. Smile

OrianaBanana · 24/11/2016 15:01

You can freeze cheese in those portions? Defrost one a day..?

LittleOyster · 24/11/2016 15:11

That's a brilliant idea, Oriana. I have to buy a pack of Stilton later, so will try it. Thanks.

It's just so temping otherwise to keep going back for a little nibble! I recently read somewhere that cheese contains a naturally occurring mild opiate. Explains a lot... Grin

Buttwing · 24/11/2016 15:42

Oriana I'm a Manc and pickled red cabbage is compulsory with Shepards pie or any kind of beef stew or a hotpot!

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 24/11/2016 18:12

The rest of the family would not tolerate me chopping up all the cheese and freezing it unfortunately! I'm ok at just having a tiny sprinkle of cheddar or parmesan on a meal such as pasta and am using some HexA in Laughing Cow Light triangles but I really do have to discipline myself otherwise. Going to put the pickled onions on the table with the Shepherds pie later.

Frouby · 24/11/2016 18:22

One of the things I am most looking forwards to over Christmas is a big plate of cheese, crackers, pickles and a handful of grapes. Also pate on toast. And the picky party foods.

Have already started the Christmas ocado order lol.

Today has been busy. I actually haven't eaten anything yet. But having meat and potato pie later as we didn't have it last night. Will have a fuckton of veg and a tiny bit of pastry. B choice will be mint hi fis.

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 24/11/2016 19:37

Shepherds Pie and pickled onions was a good match Smile.

Same here Frouby, you can keep your selection boxes and trifle at Christmas, just give me the crackers and cheese!

LavenderRains · 24/11/2016 19:40

Ooh I am so looking forward to cheese and crackers on Xmas day. I'm working boxing day so Xmas day I'm eating what I bloody likeGrin how much weight do people put on, on average over Xmas? ?

ALemonyPea · 24/11/2016 19:44

Mmmmmmm cheese. I love cheese and more or less have it every day. I also love pickles. I like to get Mrs Elswood gherkin spears and wrap them in the middle of ham with pease pudding. Gherkins, pickled onions and gherkins are a great way to add speed to a plate. I often have that with ham and carrot sticks.

Well done on the losses everyone. Welcome to the 1.5 club Butt, we will begin initiation shortly.

Quick question about Starbucks/Costa hot chocolates. Can you have the skimmed milk as a HEA, and if so, what size? That way, I could take 6 syns off the calorie laden thing.
