Welcome new people, don't be scared by, er, me...

I had things to say but they've flown out if my brain, apart from that it's good news it's 'only' pneumonia, Frouby.

I tried baked oats for breakfast, the recipe on the app. It wasn't sweet enough for my taste on first try, but got better. Next time I'm going to do it with apple and adjust the syns. One syn for the oats, one for the 0.5 tbsp of choc shot.

Look at how pretty it is! I'm posting my naice food pics on Facebook too, so I'm probably outing myself if any of my friends are Mumsnetters. Heh.

Looks lovely molly very pretty.
I'm just making some more fake haribo. They are so easy to make. Only 3 syns for the whole batch and they satisfy my sweet tooth of an evening.

I am just off to WI and having a slight massive panic. Normally I weigh at home to get an idea what I have done so that it is not a shock, but this week our scales have broken, so no chance to be prepared. I hate feeling not in control and hate that I could have put on 2 stone over the past week and I will be found out in front of everyone!

On Saturday I went for a meal with friends, chose the best thing on the menu, rice and veg. But when it arrived it was swimming in half an inch of very flavoursome oil!! Oh it was lush, but not quite on plan.
Then today my dad took me and DH out to lunch. I had paprika chicken, salad and boiled potatoes, but on a Tuesday I normally stick to just salad and fruit before WI.

OK, off I go. Wish me luck.....

LavenderRains · 22/11/2016 17:58

Good luck PA I hate waiting in the queue.I have no scales at home.

OwlinaTree · 22/11/2016 18:23

Good luck pa. I'm off for weigh in soon. Just breastfeeding before I go, every little helps lol.

Frouby · 22/11/2016 19:08

I hate not weighing before I go too pa. I also weigh myself daily. Several times a day. Just to check a stone hasn't crept on in a few hours.

Had tomato and pasta sauce for tea. Hm obviously. With a fuck ton of salad and a fuck ton of vegetables. Winning at optimising today.

Am going to do some baked oats for a snack later I think. And perhaps have them with a bit of ice cream. Pasta doesn't half make me hungrier afterwards!

ALemonyPea · 22/11/2016 19:57

Good luck PA.

1.5lbs for me this week. I'll take that. 1 stone 4.5 to target (although might go for more after Christmas)

4 weeks until Christmas, I will be happy to lose the 4.5lb taking me to 6 stone loss.

Frouby · 22/11/2016 20:08

Hmm m baked oats were nice. Had to make it up a bit as was missing a few ingredients but it was almost like a poor man's bakewell tart!

Used blackberries instead of raspberries. And fruitopolis (cherry) instead of muller lights. And almond extract instead of vanilla extract.

Had a blob of ice cream as had syns left but it was lush. Did a double lot incase the gannets wanted some so will have it tomorrow cold with some yoghurt. Or even just a cup of tea!

ALemonyPea · 22/11/2016 20:14

I love baked oats. I usually make three blueberry muffin type ones when I do them, they're delicious.

OwlinaTree · 22/11/2016 21:20

Well done lemony! I lost 1.5lb this week too, I'm pleased with that as we went out Sunday so all good. 1lb to go to club 10,so hope for that next week.

PositiveAttitude · 22/11/2016 21:34

I did 1.5lb too!!! Grin Pleased with that. Well done all you others, too.

Groovester · 22/11/2016 22:25

Well done on the losses. I'm hoping for 2 off on Thursday as that will be my first stone off. Fingers crossed.
Just been reading the SW bashing thread from yesterday...

LavenderRains · 22/11/2016 23:09

Has that thread been deleted now? I was reading it but can't find it now.

Alemony 6 stone is mind blowing Star I would love to see before and after photos of you.

Well done losers, my turn tomorrow.

Groovester · 23/11/2016 00:07

I couldn't find the thread but searched mumsnet for slimming world and it's one of the first threads in the list, if not the first one.

ALemonyPea · 23/11/2016 07:37

That thread is silly, mainly because it's more or less ignored the people who've said they do SW the proper way and focused on the ones who have no idea what they're doing.

I do think it depends on your consultant. Mine is good, she knows her stuff. She focuses on your third speed, rather than free foods. She always says mullerlights are free, but they have 100 cals, so eating those as a snack soon add up, snack on speed if you're hungry, and doesn't push frylight etc like some do.

Well done to my fellow 1.5lbers Grin

LavenderRains · 23/11/2016 09:02

I agree lemony I've never heard my leader talk about muller lights. I do have the occasional muller but have only ever had a hifi bar at group as a trial. I don't think I need them. I also refuse to stop using real butter! Something works as I've lost 24lb since start of October.

FaithAscending · 23/11/2016 09:42

I CBA to join in that thread! SW is working for me. I'm eating a balanced diet. Making healthier choices. I can allow myself treats but I'm not bingeing like I used to!

Interestingly, this week I meal planned but never got round to sticking it up in the kitchen. I've definitely found it more difficult to make food choices as a consequence! WI tonight, hoping for a loss but doubt it'll be big (despite missing last week).

Well done to the losers! Smile

LavenderRains · 23/11/2016 09:58

And I've never eaten so much fruit and veg. My nails grow really quickly!
If it works then great. If not don't do it! SimplesGrin

Frouby · 23/11/2016 12:27

I replied a couple of times to that thread but felt I was just wasting my time. Many people critical of it either hadn't done the plan or didn't understand it and didn't actually want to understand it!

Am joining in the 1.5lb losers club! That's 4lbs off in 2 weeks which I am pleased with. And I am 6 months into the plan and now only 1st 9 away from target!

If you had asked me 6 months ago would I be happy at 11st 9.5lbs I would have laughed and said yes but I doubt I will be.

5.5lbs away for 2.5st which would be nice to get this side of Christmas.

Today's plan

B. Coffee
L. I had a bacon and egg sandwich on wm bread. It was lush. A bit norty as no speed but I really enjoyed and wont eat again until teatime anyway.
T. Meat and potato pie with veg. Won't have pastry though. Am also planning on a small slice of cheesecake after tea as a treat. Have had 1 pudding a week for the last 2 weeks and it certainly hasn't slowed my loss down.

Am definitely liking sw at the moment!

emwithme · 23/11/2016 12:52

Well done losers! I didn't reply to that thread because people weren't listening to the ones who said "hang on, I've done SW with nary a muller light passing my lips, it's actually like this " but were piling on the ones who tried it in a half-assed fashion and it didn't work.

I combine the SW way of eating with MFP for overall portion control, because part of my initial weight gain issue once you ignore the giant daily bar of dairy milk was just TOO MUCH FOOD. Healthy food still has calories! I'm trying to stick to around 1500 a day now, with 2000 at weekends, now I've got to target. (I cannot believe how many calories are in some low-syn snacks - there's the same calories in a 4 finger kitkat as there are in a roast chicken pasta mugshot, but there's a 12 syn difference!)

I'm hoping for a loss tomorrow, any loss will be good.

Today's food:

B: Eggy muffins
L: Butternut squash and celeriac soup, apple, pear, satsumas
D: Chili con carne with rice
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars (I am in LOVE with the mint ones)

ALemonyPea · 23/11/2016 13:29

I've never had a mugshot, they don't appeal to me. Saw one atngeoup when it was made, and it smelled awful. Don't like pot noodles either.

If you do the right, you will lose weight. You don't need mullerlights, they're not a requirement. Loads of photos on my SW FB group of meals that have free foods, piled high, but barely any speed on. That's the wrong way. Consultant usually has goers some advice, but same people put the same stuff over and over again. One woman has put on 7lb since starting 4 weeks ago, meshes one of them.

Welcome to the 1.5 club Frouby.

DS1 off school today for review day, so took him to McDonalds afterwards as a treat for a glowing report. Got a Coke Zero for myself 😇

Frouby · 23/11/2016 14:28

I have just looked at photo on our fb page of someone's lunch. A plate of sw chips, a pizza using a and b choices. With around 2 inch of cucumber and 3 cherry tomatoes.

If I was having that I would have had a fuck ton of salad and a handful of the chips. And as a main evening meal not a lunch portion.

WhoKnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 23/11/2016 14:35

I also posted on that thread and was ignored. I bought a mugshot a few weeks ago but haven't been able to bring myself to use it. We take those and pot noodles camping for quick rations for the DCs, so I have tried them, but definitely don't want them as a regular thing. I ditched out of Muller Lights after a couple of weeks (after reading the ingredients), I'd rather have zero fat Greek yogurt and a teaspoon of synned jam.

OrianaBanana · 23/11/2016 14:36

Yeah our Facebook group's really bad for that too - I hope our consultant is pulling them up in private, I feel it's not really my place.
