That sounds lovely Butt. Of all the takeaway foods, I miss Indians the most.

MollyRedskirts · 19/11/2016 14:38

Checking in - I lost 0.5lb last week, but didn't go to my meeting this morning as DH offered me a lie-in, which I jumped at! I'm not weighing in at home as it just demotivates me, so I'm assuming a STS/gain as I was all over the place last week.

I'm trying to have a 100% on plan week this week. Taking it day by day. So far, I've only had brunch, which was a big mish mash of veg that needed using up, with some new potatoes and a squirt of passata. It was quite nice.

I'm making the Greek style aubergine lentil stew out of the magazine later, to freeze and have for lunches.

Tea will be M&S skinny burgers, which we're trying for the first time, with salad.

Buttwing · 19/11/2016 15:06

Lemony have you ever made the hairy bikers madras I'm always banging on about? It's so so good dead easy to make I'm a chuck it all in a pot kind of cook and it works well if you're a bit lazy like me!

Frouby · 19/11/2016 20:44

Lemony I have an Indian every week. I usually have chicken sag and boiled rice. Where we order from the sag dish is pretty dry and there isn't a lot of oil so I reckon about 12 syns maybe?

I am getting pretty pissed off with life. Bil came home yesterday. Still wobbly buy OK. Dsis has been back and forth with 2 year old ds for.last few days to doctors. Horrible croup and some alarming temperatures. He took a turn for the worse last night and she is back in hospital in a private room of the children's ward and he is being treated for meningitis.

For crying out loud. When will we get a break?

Been sort of on plan. Went out for breakfast and had scrambled eggs and tomatoes as no brown bread which they didn't tell me.until they brought it. Then had steak, salad and sw chips for tea.

Currently on my 3rd large gin though. And really need it.

Buttwing · 20/11/2016 10:09

Morning all its a bit quiet on here where is everyone?!Grin
Well I've been so good since weigh in weds and have lost the grand total of...... Bugger all!
It's my birthday today and we are going to my mums today she is cooking a five course Italian feast for mine and dp's birthdays so I was hoping to lose a bit before today to balance it out!
Oh well looks like sp for Monday and Tuesday then!

Sixpencenonethericher · 20/11/2016 12:19

Oh frouby it's just not fair it's one thing after another big hugs
I lost 2 pounds this week but I've been so ill with a chest infection and flu like bug I've been off plan since Thursday but back on it today but still feel rotten xx

Buttwing · 20/11/2016 12:30

Frouby so sorry I didn't read your postSad what an awful thing, I can't believe all this is happening to you and your family at the momentFlowers

Groovester · 20/11/2016 12:37

Thank you Butt and so sorry that your family are having such a difficult time just now Frouby.
Week 3 of SW here and still very much on plan. The only comments about my food diaries these last 2 weeks are to try and have at least 5 syns a day. I'm struggling with this because I just feel guilty.
Whole staff meeting on Friday and freshly baked croissants were being served. I ate an apple instead. I don't know who I am anymore!

Today:
B - fruit salad
L - HM lentil soup and wm bread (hex b)
D - the Slimming Foodie's chicken and leek pie which looks delicious.

I have found her blog and two chubby cubs. Any others out there that are worth a visit?

MollyRedskirts · 20/11/2016 13:00

Oh Frouby, I'm sorry it's so shit. You are all definitely due a run of good luck. I hope it comes soon.

Groovester, maybe try including syns within your meals to make them a bit nicer, if you're struggling using them on treats?

I used 5 syns on a Warburtons crumpet for brunch. I topped it with marmite, a blue cheese Laughing Cow triangle out of my HEA allowance, and had it with a poached egg, bacon, mushrooms and a tiny bit of spinach. It was amazing and felt like a real treat. I took a photo and posted it on Facebook. Blush

That looks delicious Molly! Yes, my SW consultant said that about making meals extra special rather than treats. I did add honey to a Chinese inspired beef dish the other night and it was lovely.
I am missing bread products so might be worth having a little extra and using it as a syn like you did with your crumpet.

Groovester · 20/11/2016 13:11

Chicken and leek pie is from Slimming Eats and not the Slimming foodie...

MollyRedskirts · 20/11/2016 13:33

Yeah, I miss bread. I tend to use my B on cereal bars, or porridge, then if I fancy something bready I syn it instead. I'd rather do it that way as I find it gets me through the day better if I know I can grab a hi fi and a clementine or apple for a snack.

Frouby · 20/11/2016 16:29

Molly that looks delicious! I sometimes have ham and poached eggs on toast for a brunch. It's very filling. Especially with a fuck ton of salad on the side!

Had a massive carvery today. Had gravy and roast potatoes but no Yorkshire pudding or mashed potato so just a load of speed and meat basically. It was yummy and it's nice to have a Sunday lunch and not have to clean up after.

Also booked a holiday for next August with some friends. The wife is a tiny size 8 though so I now have a major incentive to be slim! Gulp.

Little nephew is doing well. He has pneumonia which is a relief as it's not as scary as meningitis. His oxygen levels are up enough to come off the extra he was having and he is responding well to antibiotics.

You know it's been a rough month when you are relieved someone has pneumonia instead of something worse lol.

LavenderRains · 20/11/2016 16:54

Oh frouby I'm surprised you didn't drink the whole bottle of gin! Good news about the lack of meningitis tho!
I'm at work today so food wise;
B ham and cheese omelette (cheese from hexa)
D chicken sandwich with hexb wm bread and butter 2 syns) tub of mango.
T probably a jacket potato when I get home with baked beans
Have also had a banana, pear and satsuma.
my body must be wondering wtf is all this fruit about! I never ate fruit before swGrin

milkshakeandmonstermunch · 20/11/2016 18:03

I was bad today. I had a hot chocolate at Costa. A large one. With whipped cream. And marshmallows Blush

ALemonyPea · 20/11/2016 18:32

Glad to hear it's just (?!?) pneumonia Frouby, and not meningitis. Hope he gets well soon.

Decided on another SP day, 4th in a row,Mandy surprisingly managed fine. I think the mint hifi bars have a huge hand in that, they're yummy.

Of all the foods, I miss pies and pasties the most.mused to have at least one Greggs a week, probably which had a helping hand in my huge weight,

I have changed my target again, as the one I had seemed so far away. Might change it again once I get closer to the current one. Only 1 stone 6lb to go to it though, so we will see.

Butt, I think a madras would be too spicy for me, I'm more a chicken tikka masala girl. Creamy curries are my favourite.

FirstTimeMummy25 · 20/11/2016 19:50

I make this slimming world curry and it's really nice! Goes down well with DH too...
www.slimmingworld.co.uk/recipes/creamy-chicken-korma.aspx

ALemonyPea · 20/11/2016 19:56

I make a curry alr Andy with both tikka or tandoori powder, similar to that korma recipe. Whilst it's nice, it's still not takeaway, I think it's the oil that they use, and probably the MSG Grin

As a one in a while treat will do me fine I think. The next one will be on New Year's Eve hopefully.

Buttwing · 20/11/2016 20:01

Frouby exactly the same thing happened to my dd(5) last winter. She was taken in with really high temp, bloods showed really high infection levels, they thought meningitis then a chest X-ray revealed pneumonia. They couldn't hear anything on her chest, it was so scary. Once she started on iv antibiotics she was like a different child after 24hrs. Hopefully your nephew will be the same.Flowers

Well I've had a lovely birthday. My mum made a fabulous meal it was so nice to not have to cook for a change!

Buttwing · 20/11/2016 20:03

Ahh ok lemony it might be and its more tomatoey (sp?!) than creamy.

LavenderRains · 20/11/2016 21:13

Happy birthday buttwing Flowers and maybeWineGrin

ALemonyPea · 20/11/2016 21:41

Happy birthday Butt 🍰🎂🍰🎂

OwlinaTree · 20/11/2016 22:49

Happy birthday butt! Glad your nephew is doing a bit better frouby.

We've been out for Sunday lunch for my mums birthday, was lush. At tea time I decided to have an omelette with a bit of salad. My dh ordered Chinese! Was tempted but stuck to the omelette. Really hope this self restraint shows on the scales!

LittleOyster · 20/11/2016 23:35

Hello everyone, can I join in please? I'm heading back to SW this week for the first time in over a year. Lost about 3 stone a couple of years ago, and managed to keep it off until a few weeks ago, when an emotional knock set me off on the old comfort eating again! Have been gobbling up everything in sight and managed to put on half a stone in a fortnight. Had better stop now!

emwithme · 21/11/2016 09:08

Happy birthday butt and glad to hear some things are looking up Frouby - hope your family catches that break soon (has anyone broken a mirror or similar recently?)

I am really struggling with the whole "being at target" thing. Part of me wants to lose more weight. Part of me wants to not have to think about food any more (which will mean I gain weight).

Had a day off plan on Saturday (lunch out at nice restaurant, then pizza for tea) but was back on plan yesterday...hopefully one day off won't show too badly on the scales but you never know.

Today's food:

Breakfast: Eggy muffins
Lunch: Leek & potato soup, apple, pear, satsumas
Dinner: Chicken noodle stir fry
HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars (I am absolutely IN LOVE with the mint ones...they taste like a mint viscount)
