Well. I definitely need to lose weight now.

Apparently we are going away next August. With dps friends. Whose wives are all sizes 8s. Sigh.

Still. Plenty of time to get rid of the lard. And tone up. And buy flattering beach wear. They are all very glamorous. All eyebrows and hair extensions. I am more wellies and jeans and horse shit.

Best get baby pony trained up. At least I will have thighs of steel if I am riding every day. Will be able to wrap them around dps neck and throttle the fucker at least.

Groovester · 07/11/2016 19:41

Thanks ALemonyPea. Yes, I realised the ryvita would be syns but that's all the syns I've had today and because I'm so massively fat, I can have up to 20!
Cheese with my toast is a great idea - thank you!

mumandsum · 07/11/2016 19:59

Hi .thanks Butt and Al.
I had boiled potatoes, kale, carrots and pork chops cooked in veg stock garlic, chilli and celery salt.
Do I need to worry about how many potatoes I have ?

mumandsum · 07/11/2016 20:00

I need a key to understand the shorthand I think!! 😂

OrianaBanana · 07/11/2016 20:12

mumandsum as long as the kale and carrots covered one third of your plate then no, no need to worry about the number of potatoes! According to the SW plan anyway, I think some people like to limit them anyway x

mumandsum · 07/11/2016 21:19

Thanks oriana. It more than did thanks. It is definitely a different diet. I hope i can get to grips with it.
How have you done?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 07/11/2016 22:05

Re the online thing, yes, I think they should have a forum. they keep sending me adverts for webchats, but they're all during the day when I'm at work.

mumandsum · 07/11/2016 22:08

I haven't seen anything about those?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 07/11/2016 22:22

There was one last week I think. Seem to be once every 2 or 3 weeks, I've only been a member since mid-Sept though.

PositiveAttitude · 08/11/2016 07:46

I am incredibly nervous about weigh in tonight after my very undeserved gain last week. I have written everything that has passed my lips down this week, even down to 1 M&M that I ate.

Feeling a bit bleugh, too. Job interview last Thursday and they have not even had the decency to contact me to tell me I am rejected!! And just had a row with DH, who is 7,000 miles away - it's hard to have a row via facebook messenger, I normally say I have to go and turn it off if I am getting wound up, but this morning I have just typed him out one side of A4 rant!!! Oooops!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 08/11/2016 07:56

Oh no PA. Fingers crossed for tonight. How long till DH gets back?

LavenderRains · 08/11/2016 08:34

Can't get to Wi this week cos of awful shifts so will miss a week again.
Have lost 18lb in a month and am worried it will stop/slow right down soon even tho I have loads more to lose.
A lady at work said even if she eats one meal off plan she gains!
Last week I had an ikea breakfast and a Chinese takeaway and some Belgium chocs (yes stupid I know!)
But does even a small blip cause gain??

Good luck PA

OwlinaTree · 08/11/2016 09:30

I'm no expert lavender, but if you stay on plan most of the time, you should be OK. My leader says if you have one bad day you can still lose if you get back on it. Don't be tempted to just think blow it, keep on plan till next weigh in and you will probably be fine.

I really believe that there has to be a balance between living your life and following a healthy eating plan. We can't constantly just think 'sod the diet', equally we can't exclude ourselves from life's celebrations and pleasures either. At the moment I'm not drinking which makes it a lot easier, but I know I will want to in the future!

I really struggled to maintain when i reached target in ww, so I'm wondering how it will be with sw. I was definitely under eating with ww as at the time I was at the gym 3/4 nights a week often for 2 hours, so I should have been eating more to compensate. It seems like that won't happen with this plan as you have the free food so you can eat more!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 08/11/2016 09:54

If I'm honest Lavender - 18lb in a month seems a heck of a lot to me, you've done amazingly well there. I'm no expert, but maybe it is a bit unrealistic to keep expecting that rate of loss? I'm going for a relaxed approach (10lb lost in 7 weeks so far, including half a week of total gluttony in Belgium at half term which set me back a good fortnight) This means I can still have pizza with the rest of the family or share snacks with them (I'm trying to make the fact that I'm on a diet invisible to my DCs as they are at a very impressionable age when it comes to body matters, 10 and 12). In general I come off plan over the weekend but try not to totally pig out and only follow it properly Mon-Thurs, I feel I can sustain it better in the long term that way.

OrianaBanana · 08/11/2016 12:50

mumandsum I lost 1.5 stones (had 2.5 to lose) then got pregnant and since then have tried to eat healthily whilst sick, tired etc. and mostly just felt guilty! But I know when I've given birth I can get back on plan, my local group is close and supportive so I do keep going even though obviously the focus isn't really on my weight.

Frouby · 08/11/2016 12:52

I do similar Whoknows. I stay in plan normal days, have curry Friday night and might relax a bit on Saturday. If we really want something off plan for tea I will have it. Or if I am out and really any something other than a jacket potato I will have it.

I am still eating a lot better than before. And drinking a lot less alcohol so the weight is coming off slowly.

Today's plan

B. Coffee
L. Ham and a smidgen of cheese salad sandwich on yesterday and today's Heb.
T. Hunters chicken with little roast potatoes and either salad or veg.

Not sure on syns yet. It is weigh in tomorrow and desperate not to have gained so might be a very light day food wise.

LavenderRains · 08/11/2016 13:07

Thanks everyone. I know 18lb seems a lot in a month but my diet pre SW was really bad. I mainlined Chocolate on night shifts, hardly ate any fruit so this plan has shocked my bodyGrin
I agree that we have to live our lives hence the Chinese at the weekend.
I tend to be 'all or nothing' which isn't good for my mindset.
So I will try to stick to plan as much as I can for the time being. After all, there's so much food to choose from isn't there?! And I don't need a ton of chocolate every day do I? ?Confused

Buttwing · 08/11/2016 16:33

PA fingers crossed for tonight
Lavender that's an amazing weightloss in a month! I think you will be fine after a blip, it's just really important to get straight back on. A lot of my "blips" end up lasting a weekBlush
Oriana I can't believe your baby will be here my Xmas it doesn't seem two minutes since you said you were pregnant! (It probably does to you!) when are you due?

Dc4 had an awful nights sleep last night and was basically up for most of the night so I'm exhausted today and both the toddlers (aka the krays) have been spirited to say the least. So I've eaten more biscuits than I should have today. Weigh in the morning it's also shark week (I'm stealing that phrase from em!)

OrianaBanana · 08/11/2016 17:06

Buttwing I'm 34 weeks now and she's due 16th December. She may be as late as her brother though and come after Xmas!

In some ways it's been ages and in others not long at all, but this last bit of the third trimester is going on forever. Not so much of a bad thing as I don't feel mentally ready for a second one, but bad in that I have bad pelvic pain, exhaustion, etc etc (nothing serious thank God). So, swings and roundabouts!

I sympathise with the toddler induced biscuit-eating though. Sometimes it's the only way to get through!

mumandsum · 08/11/2016 17:40

Wow 18 pound in a month would be amazing!!

Well done all to all of you.
Is day 2 and i haven't been shopping yet?!
Am the only one doing it online - no group?
Today I've had
Hxa - milk (in a protein type shake)
2 plums. 1 apple
L -Large salad of lettuce, toms, onion tuna jacket.
D - chicken thigh (no skin) x 2, sweet potato, salad
Not sure what to have for hxb
Or syns - maybe salad cream and olive oil. Any suggestions?

How does all that sound? ^^

mumandsum · 08/11/2016 17:43

Oriana -
Have you had your pelvis checked out?
I had SPD (where your hips seperate) with DC3. Very painful, but the belt they gave me did help. X

Buttwing · 08/11/2016 17:43

How exciting to be having a Christmas baby! If it's any consolation I found it much harder being heavily pregnant with a toddler than having a newborn and a toddler. My dc3 had just turned 1 when dc4 arrived they are 2 and 3 now and I'm just waiting for it to get a bit easier as every bugger keeps telling me it willGrin

I'm going to bed when the kids do tonight, hopefully it will keep me away from the biscuits!

Buttwing · 08/11/2016 17:48

Mum I don't know anything about protein shakes are they free? Other wise it looks good.

MammaGnomes · 08/11/2016 17:48

Hi all, planning to join on Thursday, does anyone know of any magazine offers? Do they still do the countdowns where you buy so many weeks upfront?

I'm really looking forward to re joining. Need to get my bum into gear for Xmas!

LavenderRains · 08/11/2016 17:55

Has anyone made the slimming world sweeties? I found them on YouTube after somebody mentioned them at work.
They are meant to be like Haribo, all you need is sugar free jelly crystals, gelatine crystals and a muller light yogurt.
I've just made some and put in the fridge, 1 syn for 15 sweeties. Can't wait!!

Saw my neighbour earlier who goes to the same group as me, she was very pissed off as she had an SP week and didn't loose anything!!
she was off to have a cake Confused she's lost 2 stone in a year tho so has done really well.
