LavenderRains · 05/11/2016 21:47

Well done losersWine
I've gone off the rails a bit lots tonight.
The day started well;
B cup of tea and a banana
D beans on toast with cheese HEX a&b
T Chinese take away, Belgium chocolates (a present) Blush
Feel really bad now and wish I hadn't gone ott. I've been so good for the past monthSad

MollyRedskirts · 05/11/2016 22:14

Well done, losers!

Lavender Rains, you'll get back on it. One night off is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I hope you enjoyed those chocolates.

ALemonyPea, I am very impressed with myself. Grin I'm actually quite good at maintaining and dealing with gains of a few pound - I just wish I was doing it at target.

LavenderRains · 05/11/2016 22:34

Thanks molly I know I will get back on track tomorrow cos I feel sick after the chocolates. They were lovely tho, actually came from a chocolate shop in Belgium so very nice tasting.

DooWhop · 06/11/2016 04:51

I've done SW so many times but it's been a long time. Can I use my syns over the week i.e. I had none one day but probably had 40 over past two days. Am usually only having 5-8 per day anyway as not keen on chocolate which seems to be most people's choice Grin

PositiveAttitude · 06/11/2016 08:35

Buttwing I have that nice smug feeling this morning, too. Last night I was leading the catering at a very large community event serving hotdogs, onions, cakes and sweets. The only thing that passed my lips was raw onion and one bite of a hotdog, which is 0.5 syns for a whole hotdog!

We received a first delivery from Muscle food on Friday. Does anyone else have this delivered? Last night I had a steak from it and it was honestly the nicest steak I have ever had at home. Amazing!! A girl in our SW group is quite evangelical about the Muscle Foods and we thought we would give it a go. Very impressed so far.

susannahmoodie · 06/11/2016 09:04

Hello everyone,

I joined Sw yesterday, and I have between 3 and 4 stone to lose to get to a healthy BMI....

Just writing that makes me feel so ashamed, and I can't believe I've got to this point!! I work ft in v full on job with 2 young dcs and have got into some v bad habits....

Going to be tough between now and Xmas as its my bday and have 2 meals out planned for Xmas nights out so I may need advice on healthy eating out choices....

I've had weetabix and banana for breakfast so far, with milk from my hex allowance.....

Sixpencenonethericher · 06/11/2016 09:49

Morning lavender snap I had a Chinese take away too and now I've got the guilt
Also I'm a size 16 now and I'm going to a party a month today and I've got a lovely dress but they only had it in a size 14 so I got it anyway
Do you think there's any chance of fitting in it , I've tried it on and it doesn't fit yet

ninnypoo · 06/11/2016 10:28

Morning everyone! Positive I love musclefood's meat!

I'm wondering about having school dinners next week (I'm a teacher). I've found out that they are free if I eat with the kids and I'm pretty skint so that would help a lot. Most of the meals look SW friendly and there's a jacket potato option if not and a salad bar and fresh fruit etc. This is the menu: stgeorgesrc-york.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/York-Menu-Option-1.pdf

What do people think? I'll just stay low syn for the rest of the day to counteract any syns in oil etc. Anyway I think I'll trial it for a week and see how it affects my weight loss

jimijack · 06/11/2016 10:33

Hi every one, can you tell me how many syns in Aldi square potato cakes please, I've just consumed 2 and am feeling guilty and anxious that I have ruined the day Sad

MollyRedskirts · 06/11/2016 10:44

Jimijack - no results for Aldi on the app, but here's what there is. What weight are the Aldi ones, this should give you an idea? Don't panic, you haven't ruined the day!

jimijack · 06/11/2016 10:50

Thanks, 68g each it says on the pack. Sorry I don't have the app and Google throws up loads, confusing.

MollyRedskirts · 06/11/2016 10:56

Are you a SW member? Even if you don't have the app, there's a calculator on the website. If you have the nutritional info, you can stick it in there and find out the syns.

Tell you what, take a photo of the nutritional info and post it. I'll work it out for you and then I can buy some potato cakes next time I'm in Aldi.

jimijack · 06/11/2016 11:22

I am a sw member yes, just rubbish at computery type things, I only have a mobile phone...which is a phone, no internet or fancy stuff. (I am probably the only person n the world I know!!!)
I have bought the sw syn book but tatty cakes are not in there as in Aldi,
I just fancied a tatty cake, did it in the toaster, put a boiled egg and some beans on, then thought in horror it has to have syns!! BUT oh my, it was goooood Grin

jimijack · 06/11/2016 11:23

So it's 167kcals per 68g cake, fat 1.5...can you do it with that info???

MollyRedskirts · 06/11/2016 12:46

Heh, fair enough.

It's calories, carbs, fat, protein and amounts per 100g, plus serving size, to work it out on the calculator. Or you can do the amounts per individual item, but it's easier to do it with the 100g figures if they're listed.

Really, don't panic about it though. I will tell you the exact syns, but you're not going to be able to know exactly how many syns are in everything, so it's a case of estimating sometimes, and learning to be ok with that. Easier said than done, I know.

A rule of thumb is that every 20 calories equals one syn. It's a bit different if the thing you're eating has free food in it though, but it's a good rule for snacks like crisps and sweets.

jimijack · 06/11/2016 13:50

Thanks, I gained 2.5 after a 2 week holiday so want to get that off....

dannyglick · 06/11/2016 15:49

Sixpence, if you keep to the plan, you have a good chance of getting into your one -size- smaller party dress.
Around a ten pound weight loss is equivalent to one dress size down, and you could achieve that in one month, before your party day.

Groovester · 06/11/2016 16:03

Hi guys, I joined SW on Thursday night with an enormous amount of weight to lose. After a disastrous first day, I've now been on plan for 2. Loving that food is fresh and I'm not hungry! I am peeing a heck of a lot though. Is this normal and does it ease off?

LavenderRains · 06/11/2016 17:20

groovester I joined 4 weeks ago and am still peeing for England Grin I've lost 18lb tho so I see the peeing as a good thing. I've had one big blip in the 4 weeks (yesterday) had a Chinese take away and a big bag of Belgium chocs!
Back on track today tho.
B; cup of tea
D beans on toast and cheese HEa&b
T cottage pie with mashed swede instead of potato
fresh fruit and yogurt.
will have a few mini meringues as syns later.
Good luck groovester keep going!

ALemonyPea · 06/11/2016 18:45

Welcome newbies, and well done losers!

Remember, bananas are not a speed food, so you should be replacing it with something like strawberries for maximum weight loss.

Don't be ashamed of what you have to lose, at least you're trying, that's the main thing. I have 8 stone to lose, so far have managed 5.5 stone since April.

Had a good day today, had a little trip out to Waitrose, which is a 10 mile round trip, for some more frozen yoghurt. Going to have half a tub in a minute. 7.5 syns of joy.

Buttwing · 06/11/2016 19:33

Ha ha lemony I'm just waiting for the kids to go to bed to have my frozen yogurt. They come pestering for some if they are up and it's the one thing I'm not sharing!!

Groovester · 06/11/2016 19:53

Thanks Lavender. I will endeavour to see my peeing as a good thing and not a pain! 18lb is a great loss in 4 weeks!
I feel like I'm eating too much but looking at my diary, a lot of it is fruits.
B - 1/2 grapefruit and banana
L - omelette with pepper, ham, onion (and spoonful of baked beans on side...)
D - baked potato with chilli
Loads of fruit in between!

ALemonyPea · 06/11/2016 19:58

Looks good groovster. I pee an awful lot on this diet, so used to it now though.
